My Alleged Husband

Chapter 127: Chapter 111 The Wishful Abacus_1

”Honey, dinner’s ready!” Xiao Wei brought out the freshly cooked meal from the kitchen.

Li Jiayuan thought Xiao Wei was cooking a bit too slowly, so as she waited, a wave of drowsiness washed over her and she fell into a doze on the couch.

When Xiao Wei came out with the cooked meal to call Li Jiayuan to eat, he saw that she had already fallen asleep and was left speechless. Who just falls asleep like that?

”Wife, wake up.” Xiao Wei gently tapped Li Jiayuan’s shoulder a few times, and she slowly opened her eyes. Squinting, she looked at the person in front of her to see who it was. Upon seeing it was Xiao Wei, the sleepiness vanished instantly.

”Ah, Xiao Wei, why are you so close to me? Don’t you know that’s scary?” Li Jiayuan patted her chest and frowned as she spoke to Xiao Wei.

”I didn’t do it on purpose. I just thought you looked so nice sleeping that I couldn’t help but take a few more glances, and who knew you’d suddenly wake up?” Xiao Wei said with an expression that was the very picture of aggrievement.

”Alright, you’re such a big guy, how can you act like a child? Look at that face, do you find being with me that hard?” Li Jiayuan asked Xiao Wei, and he nearly choked on his saliva upon hearing her words.

”What nonsense are you on about? Who said I feel aggrieved being with you?” Xiao Wei’s eyes widened as he stared intently at Li Jiayuan. She felt embarrassed under his gaze and quickly lowered her head.

”Who said just now that the meal was ready?” Li Jiayuan, as if suddenly remembering something important, raised her head sharply and spoke to Xiao Wei.

Xiao Wei, who was about to sneak a kiss, was startled by Li Jiayuan’s abrupt movement.

”What is it?” Li Jiayuan asked Xiao Wei, noting his startled appearance. She knew he must have been up to some mischief to get caught and thus react like that.

”Nothing, my wife is so beautiful, so charming, can’t I take a few more glances?” Xiao Wei argued unconvincingly.

Li Jiayuan rolled her eyes at Xiao Wei, embarrassed by his bluntness. Couldn’t he be a little more subtle?

”Come on, hurry up and try what I’ve made. It’ll get cold if you don’t eat now...” Xiao Wei suddenly remembered that the food he had made was still on the table, and if they didn’t eat soon, it would cool off and lose its flavor.

”Right, let’s go, I want to eat.” Li Jiayuan was indeed very impulsive. She assumed that after idly chatting with Xiao Wei for a while, the food would have cooled down, so she dashed over and scooped up a bowl of soup to taste.

”Wait a second...” Before Xiao Wei could finish his warning, Li Jiayuan had already thrown the bowl to the ground.

She stuck out her tongue, fanning it with her hand and pacing back and forth. It was so hot, she felt like her tongue was about to be burned off.

Watching Li Jiayuan in this state, Xiao Wei found her endearing. He stood to the side, holding his stomach and laughing. Seeing him like this infuriated Li Jiayuan, yet she didn’t know what to say.

”And you’re laughing? What kind of husband does that? It’s so hot and you didn’t even warn me.” Li Jiayuan started to feel so wronged that tears began rolling down her cheeks.

Xiao Wei looked at Li Jiayuan with an innocent face. He didn’t mean to not tell her; it was just that Li Jiayuan acted so quickly that he hadn’t had the chance to speak before she drank it. It wasn’t his fault!

”Dear, come here, let hubby blow on it. I didn’t mean to not tell you, it’s just that you drank it before I had the chance to say anything, so please don’t be angry...” Regardless, Xiao Wei still took the initiative to coax Li Jiayuan.

Li Jiayuan looked at Xiao Wei acting this way and felt so happy in her heart. She knew clearly that this matter wasn’t Xiao Wei’s fault, yet Xiao Wei was still willing to lower his head and coax her into happiness. Perhaps this is what love is all about!

Li Jiayuan tasted what true love really felt like for the first time—it’s when regardless of whether or not you did something wrong, the other person is willing to bow their head to make you happy, always taking all the blame onto themselves, never letting their partner be upset over anything. That is what true love is!

Li Jiayuan reached out and embraced Xiao Wei, leaning on his shoulder, she whispered, ”Xiao Wei, thank you for being so good to me. I’m so willful, yet you indulge me without hesitation. I’m really grateful to you, my husband!”

Li Jiayuan’s words were like honey spread over Xiao Wei’s soul as he held her tightly and said, ”Jiayuan, I should be the one thanking you. To have a wife like you in this life, what more could I ask for?”

The two held each other tightly in the living room. Xiao Wei picked up Li Jiayuan in a princess carry and headed upstairs.

”What are you doing?” Li Jiayuan felt a bad premonition coming on.

”Doing nothing, just going upstairs to make a son with you.”

...

With just this simple phrase, Li Jiayuan suddenly understood what Xiao Wei was planning.

”Darling, considering it’s still so early, shouldn’t we go for a walk, get some exercise?”

”Aren’t we about to exercise right now? Why go out to exercise?” Xiao Wei said nonchalantly.

As Li Jiayuan saw the distance to her bedroom getting closer and closer, her brain worked furiously. Suddenly, she thought of a good excuse, ”Darling, shouldn’t we go and thank Elder Sister Xia and her husband? Considering the generous wedding gift they gave us, at the very least, we should personally pay them a visit, don’t you think?”

Xiao Wei thought Li Jiayuan made sense. After all, the lavish wedding gift from Xia Jing and Zhang Zhentian was partly to show support for Xiao Wei. Given that, how could Xiao Wei not pay them a visit?

After pondering for a while, he said to Li Jiayuan, ”Jiayuan, I think what you said makes a lot of sense.”

Li Jiayuan, hearing this from Xiao Wei, thought he agreed to visit Xia Jing right then, but that wasn’t the case.

”What are you so happy about? I haven’t finished speaking yet. Although what you said makes sense, I think we can visit her tomorrow instead. Right now, the most important thing is to accompany you, right?” As soon as Xiao Wei said this, Li Jiayuan wilted like a flower that had been long deprived of water.

”Isn’t it, darling, aren’t you mistaken? We should be visiting Elder Sister Xia and her husband first...” Li Jiayuan argued, knowing full well that if she couldn’t win this argument, she wouldn’t think of getting out of bed and walking tomorrow morning.

Xiao Wei said to Li Jiayuan, ”My dear wife, do you think your husband is a fool? Do you think I don’t know what you’re up to, trying to persuade me to visit Elder Sister Xia to escape your fate? Do you think I’m stupid? Even if you escape today, do you plan to use this kind of excuse every time to fend me off?”

”It seems so, but if I escape this time, I can use another excuse next time,” Li Jiayuan cheerfully said to Xiao Wei, but after speaking, she realized she had let something slip and quickly shut her mouth.

Xiao Wei glanced at Li Jiayuan from the corner of his eye and said, ”So that’s what you’re thinking, huh?”
