My Alleged Husband

Chapter 102: Chapter 94 The Ex-Boyfriend Called_1

Old Master Zhang, sitting in the downstairs living room, heard the sounds coming from Zhang Zhentian’s bedroom and smiled contentedly. From the noise, he knew Zhentian was cultivating affection with Xia Jing. It seemed he wouldn’t have to wait long to cradle a grandson—a joyous occasion indeed! Old Master Zhang wished he could hold a grandchild tomorrow, even though he knew it wasn’t possible.

”Zhentian, can we take a break? I’m exhausted. How could you do this to me? Do you think bullying me like this is okay?” Xia Jing made a pitiful face at Zhang Zhentian, but he seemed oblivious to her pleading eyes. As he moved closer, Jing knew she was in for it again; another cycle was about to start.

”Stop!” Xia Jing cried out to Zhang Zhentian.

”No saying stop, and no begging for mercy, my dear wife, I’m coming for you! Zhentian looked at Xia Jing with a mischievous smile, and she realized that if she didn’t run for her life now, she was truly done for—literally!

Xia Jing saw Zhang Zhentian bearing down on her and quickly rubbed her eyes with her hands. She rubbed fiercely, turning them red, and looking up at Zhang Zhentian, she said, ”Look at my poor little eyes, how can you bear to bully me?”

After saying this, Xia Jing even batted her eyelashes at Zhang Zhentian. He initially thought she was actually crying, but when he saw her winking at him, he realized he’d been duped; Jing wasn’t about to cry—she was clearly begging for mercy!

”Don’t look at me like that; your eyes make it so hard for me to bully you...” Zhang Zhentian said smilingly to Xia Jing.

”Then you should just stop bullying me!” Xia Jing was genuinely exhausted. If there was a chance to catch her breath, she wanted to take it and run away fast.

”No, you can’t have it!” Zhang Zhentian said helplessly to Xia Jing.

Xia Jing was on the verge of breaking down. She wanted to keep begging for mercy, but suddenly Zhang Zhentian said, ”Who was it that said we should have a child sooner rather than later?”

Xia Jing was stunned by Zhang Zhentian’s abrupt question. She regretted saying anything about having a child early. Now it was really turning out to be an ordeal.

”Zhentian...”

”Xia Jing, I’ll show you what it means ’Not to be undead’!”

”Zhentian, I’m begging you, I shouldn’t have brought it up, so please spare me this one time!”

”You realize your mistake now? What took you so long?”

...

After several cycles, Xia Jing was utterly exhausted. She simply fell into a deep sleep, and Zhang Zhentian, seeing her bullied into such a state, felt he might have gone a bit too far. Just then Xia Jing’s phone rang. She was fast asleep and couldn’t hear her phone ringing, so Zhang Zhentian picked it up and answered the call. Before he could say a word, a man’s voice from the other end of the line came through, and it was this voice that led to a huge argument between Zhang Zhentian and Xia Jing!

”Baby, how have you been lately? I was wrong before; I know my mistake now. Can you forgive me? Can we start over?”

As soon as Zhang Zhentian heard this voice, he couldn’t help but ask, ”Excuse me, who is this?”

The man, upon hearing a male answer the phone, asked, ”Excuse me, is this Xia Jing’s phone?”

”Yes, it is!” Zhang Zhentian was curious about how this stranger knew Xia Jing. He felt that there was definitely something complicated going on, so he started to probe the stranger, hoping to find out what was really happening.

”I want to know why Xia Jing’s phone is in your hands, and what are you two doing so late?”

”Do we need to tell you what we’re doing? On the contrary, I’d like to ask, what are you doing calling Xia Jing so late?” Zhang Zhentian disdainfully said to the stranger.

”What I’m doing? Of course, I am out on a date with Xia Jing. You couldn’t possibly be unaware of the fact that Xia Jing and I are boyfriend and girlfriend, could you?”

”Oh? Boyfriend and girlfriend? Then how come I’ve heard that Xia Jing is already married? Could it be that Xia Jing is cheating on her husband? From the tone of your voice, you don’t sound like Xia Jing’s boyfriend. Has Xia Jing’s boyfriend record been updated recently, or are you just a scammer?” Zhang Zhentian began his tactics.

”Haha, how could that be? Do you have any idea how happy Xia Jing is when she’s with me? And do you know how sweet it is when she lies beside me in bed, sleeping with me?”

Hearing the stranger speak like this, Zhang Zhentian’s anger flared up. He refused to believe that Xia Jing would be that kind of person; he couldn’t accept that the person by his side would treat him this way!

”Who do you think you are? Why should I believe you? Besides, if what you’re saying is true, then please send me the evidence. I don’t want to distrust my good friend just because of a few casual words from you!” Zhang Zhentian waited for the stranger to take the bait.

”Here, these are the photos I took when I was with her. I believe you should recognize the woman in the photos, don’t you?” The stranger sent several photos of himself with Xia Jing to her phone. When Zhang Zhentian saw them, he felt utterly unstable. He had never expected Xia Jing to treat him this way. He could not accept it; he believed he had treated Xia Jing with nothing but integrity.

”You think these few photos are enough to make me disbelieve Xia Jing? How do I know these are not photoshopped pictures you paid for? And if you have other evidence, then show me! What do these few photos prove?” Zhang Zhentian was already in great pain, but he still forcibly suppressed his displeasure. He still wanted to believe that Xia Jing was not that kind of person, yet the reality deeply disappointed him. Then the stranger sent another voice message: ”Darling, shall we have a child together?”

This was Xia Jing’s voice. Zhang Zhentian thought about how the words Xia Jing said to this stranger were exactly the same as the ones she had said to him that day. The always proud and arrogant Zhang Zhentian had a hard time accepting this.

”So, do you still need evidence?” The stranger asked mockingly.

”Thanks for your kindness, but I don’t need it anymore. Oh, by the way, I forgot to tell you, Xia Jing is now my wife. I hope you won’t bother us again in the future!”

Before the stranger could say anything more, Zhang Zhentian hung up the phone. He rushed out, furious, and punched a tree. His hand instantly turned red and slowly began to bleed. He couldn’t feel the pain in his hand because the agony in his heart overshadowed it. He had never thought that the woman he loved wholeheartedly would treat him this way. Xia Jing had never said such things to him, and he had never suspected her nor asked her, but he did not expect her to deceive him like this. Zhang Zhentian was not willing to accept this. He thought to himself: Xia Jing, I have treated you well, why have you done this to me? Should I confront you to clear things up? If I do, will you be honest with me? No, I’ll wait for you to come forward and tell me about it spontaneously. I just hope you don’t disappoint me again!

Xia Jing had no idea what had happened while she was asleep, and she was unaware of the trials awaiting her. What choices would Xia Jing make once she learned about this?
