My Alleged Husband

Chapter 112: Chapter 101 Sincere Apologies_1

Zhentian, even if you truly don’t understand me, you should at least know that my love for you is sincere. But why are you treating me like this? We’ve been married for over a month. How have you treated me in this past month? Do you really think I don’t feel anything? I’m human too, I know what heartache feels like. How can you do this to me? You weren’t like this before we got married!

After a while, Zhang Zhentian came and knocked on Xia Jing’s door, saying to her, ”Xia Jing, will you open the door and let me in, please? I won’t ever do this again, okay? Can you open the door, please?”

Xia Jing sat in her room letting Zhang Zhentian knock on the door, sitting on the bed in silence. She knew that Zhang Zhentian wouldn’t keep it up for long, at most a quarter of an hour before he definitely left.

A quarter of an hour later, Xia Jing heard no more noise outside, she quietly walked over and opened the door, and sure enough, there was no trace of Zhang Zhentian. This made Xia Jing even more disheartened, she mocked herself and said, ”Xia Jing, oh Xia Jing, after all that has happened, why do you still hold out hope for him? You know he’s someone who lacks patience...”

Xia Jing turned around and closed the door again, and that night Xia Jing slept so comfortably. Without Zhang Zhentian’s bothers, everything was pitch black, eerily silent, but Xia Jing felt she was in a paradise and happily drifted off to sleep.

The next day, Xia Jing didn’t wake up until noon. Zhang Zhentian originally intended to go upstairs to call Xia Jing down for lunch, but Old Master Zhang stopped him from going up to disturb her. Old Master Zhang wanted Xia Jing to get more rest, he knew she had been truly exhausted recently. The night before, he had heard the words Xia Jing said to Zhang Zhentian during their quarrel, and having always hoped for a grandson, now that he finally got his wish, how could he let the unborn grandson’s mother suffer and tire?

”Dad, I’m going to call Xia Jing down for lunch!” Zhang Zhentian said and turned towards the staircase, but Old Master Zhang then spoke up.

”Zhentian, wait a minute. If Xia Jing doesn’t get up in the morning, none of you should disturb her. Let her rest well, understand?” Old Master Zhang said while eating congee, spoon in hand, as he spoke to Zhang Zhentian.

”Dad, you can’t do this, you’ll spoil Xia Jing if you keep treating her this way! Moreover, I’m your son, you’ve never treated me this well, so why are you giving Xia Jing such good treatment?” Zhang Zhentian felt resentful, he remembered how Elder Zhang used to nag incessantly by his ear if he didn’t get up early in the morning, never letting him sleep in late; why could Xia Jing enjoy this privilege? It was far too unfair!

”Oh? Are you saying you’re not convinced? Okay then, if you can give birth to a big chubby grandson from your belly, I’ll definitely let you sleep in every day. Not only that, I will personally cook for you every day and look after you well, how about that?” Old Master Zhang said to Zhang Zhentian.

Zhang Zhentian knew for certain it was because Xia Jing was pregnant, that was why his father was favoring her to such an extent. At this moment, how he wished he could be a woman, then he could ”rest well” himself!

”Dad, let’s drop this matter. I still think it’s better to be a man!” Zhang Zhentian awkwardly said to Old Master Zhang.

”Haha, by the way, Zhentian, there are some things I don’t want to repeat a second time. I’m telling you right here, listen carefully. From now on, nobody in this house can bully Xia Jing, and likewise, nobody can order her to do anything, including me! Remember this, if I find out Xia Jing has cried or is angry, then you should be ready to roll out of the Zhang Family!”

”Dad, are you really prepared to give up your own son for a grandson?” Zhang Zhentian was stunned to hear what Old Master Zhang was saying, and he asked, ”Are you truly that heartless?”

”Yes, exactly, you heard me right. It’s because you’ve been opposing me from the start, and you wouldn’t take over Zhang Corporation. Haha, I’ll make sure you understand that ’Old ginger is hotter than new’!”

Zhang Zhentian couldn’t comprehend what kind of cardinal sin he had committed, to fall from grace twice in the span of a single day, enduring his wife’s cold shoulder as well as his father’s threats. He couldn’t help but yell out, ”Oh my God, what is all this? Who exactly have I offended?”
