My Alleged Husband

Chapter 117: Chapter 104: A Heart-to-Heart Talk_1

Li Jiayuan gazed at Xiao Wei with a dreamy, smitten expression.

”Xiao Wei, I’ve realized you’re really handsome, even when you’re threatening someone there’s a charming allure about you. Do you know just how cool you looked just now?” Li Jiayuan said as she pulled Xiao Wei to her side and spoke to him.

Xiao Wei didn’t speak.

”Brother-in-law, you have to take good care of my sister, understand? Make sure she safely delivers my little nephew—I want to hold him too!” Xiao Wei said to Zhang Zhentian, not wanting his relationship with Zhang Zhentian to become too strained, especially since Xia Jing would be spending her life in this family.

”Yes, yes, you’re right, don’t worry, I will definitely take good care of Xia Jing, I’ll fatten her up nice and plump.”

”That’s settled then, we’ll be taking off. Remember, I’m waiting to hold the baby.”

Upon hearing this, Xia Jing spoke up to Xiao Wei, ”If you like kids that much, then hurry up and marry Jiayuan and have one of your own. How can you always think about holding my son?”

At Xia Jing’s words, Li Jiayuan’s ears turned red. Xiao Wei, too, was made bashful by her words and said to Xia Jing, ”Sister, Jiayuan and I are getting married in three days, and you and brother-in-law must come to our wedding.”

”Brother-in-law, you really must bring my sister to the wedding that day,” Xiao Wei shouted to Zhang Zhentian.

Zhang Zhentian pretended to be reluctant and said to Xiao Wei, ”You want me and your sister to come to your and Jiayuan’s wedding, but it’s really about the size of our gift, isn’t it?”

Xiao Wei laughed awkwardly and said to Zhang Zhentian, ”Of course, you’re my brother-in-law now. Don’t you think as the husband of your wife’s brother, you should present a generous gift to bless us, the new couple?”

As the two of them wrangled over a wedding gift, Xia Jing took Li Jiayuan to the couch for a chat.

”Jiayuan, you may not think much of Xiao Wei’s speaking skills, but that’s just the way he is. He won’t let anyone hurt the people he cares about. Otherwise, he will never let that person off. That’s also why I don’t want his relationship with Zhentian to sour because of me. Don’t be jealous. You know, when Xiao Wei found out that Coach Yang was giving you devilish training, he almost hit him. Doesn’t that show how much he cares for you? After you marry, you must live happily together. Only such a life can be the happiest,” Xia Jing said earnestly to Li Jiayuan.

”Sister, I know you’re saying all this for me and Xiao Wei’s sake, don’t worry, I will live well with Xiao Wei. I don’t ask for us to live a sensational life; I just want him by my side every day. As long as he’s there when I open my eyes and still there when I close them, that’s enough for me,” Li Jiayuan replied.

”Jiayuan, you really are understanding. I speak to you like this because I truly see you as my sister. I hope you remember: amidst the sea of people and myriad of relationships, it’s fate that two people meet, and even more so to stay together for a lifetime. Don’t worry about what others think. As long as you truly love that person, treasure the one who loves you, and he’ll always have only you in his heart, okay?” Xia Jing spoke with heartfelt sincerity.

Listening to Xia Jing’s words, Li Jiayuan was deeply moved. She felt she had not cherished Xiao Wei enough and resolved to love him even more in the future. She didn’t want to lose such a good man!

”Let’s watch and see who will win this argument in the end,” said Xia Jing humorously to Li Jiayuan.

”I guess no one will win,” Li Jiayuan replied to Xia Jing.

Sitting together on the couch, each holding an apple, they watched their beloved men argue away.

Unbeknownst to Xiao Wei and Zhang Zhentian, their heated debate was being observed with amusement.

After a lengthy back-and-forth without a clear winner, Xiao Wei realized that talking to Zhang Zhentian was simply exhausting.

Xiao Wei reached for Li Jiayuan’s hand, only to discover she was no longer by his side.

”Jiayuan, let’s go home.” Xiao Wei walked over, took Li Jiayuan’s hand, and said, ”Do you know, talking to this brother-in-law is like playing the lute to a cow—he doesn’t get it at all, I’m worn out. Let’s just go home. Today, I want to visit Uncle!”
