My Alleged Husband

Chapter 126: Chapter 110 Stop it, I want to sleep_1

”Ouch...” Li Jiayuan almost burst into tears from the pain. Although she had braced herself for it, she hadn’t expected it to hurt so much. Xiao Wei, seeing the blood flowing from Li Jiayuan, became even more excited.

Throughout the night’s ups and downs, Li Jiayuan fell straight into a deep sleep.

”Silly girl, it’ll hurt less next time. Thank you for treating me like this, I will never let you down in this life,” Xiao Wei whispered tenderly to the sleeping Li Jiayuan.

Xiao Wei got up to make breakfast for Li Jiayuan and Li Haixiao. His cooking skills were truly exceptional, comparable to those of top-tier chefs.

Li Jiayuan groped about groggily with her hand by the side of her bed; she felt that the quilt next to her had grown cold, which jolted her awake as she sat up.

”Where’s Xiao Wei?”

”He didn’t leave quietly, did he?”

”Ugh, why does my whole body feel like it’s falling apart?”

Li Jiayuan moved a little and felt so uncomfortable all over that she just fell back to continue sleeping.

An hour later, Li Haixiao woke up, lured out of bed by the enticing aroma of the food Xiao Wei was cooking. Li Haixiao thought it was Li Jiayuan who had gotten up to cook, especially since she had told him she would get up early to make something delicious for him.

He pulled out a chair and sat at the table, waiting for Li Jiayuan to come out of the kitchen. After a while, someone did come out, but it was not Li Jiayuan; it was Xiao Wei.

”Dad, breakfast is ready. Please try it,” Xiao Wei said to Li Haixiao.

Li Haixiao was stunned. Wasn’t Li Jiayuan supposed to be the one cooking? How did it become Xiao Wei’s task?

Xiao Wei knew what Li Haixiao was thinking and explained, ”Dad, Jiayuan went to bed late last night, so she’s still asleep. Let’s eat now. I’ve already prepared Jiayuan’s meal. She can eat it when she wakes up...”

Upon hearing this, Li Haixiao immediately understood what had happened. Clearly, Xiao Wei hadn’t been easy on Li Jiayuan the night before. But instead of getting angry about it, Li Haixiao felt quite happy at the thought that his grandchild might soon be on the way...

”It’s fine, Xiao Wei. Take good care of Jiayuan. We’re counting on you two for our grandchild. Don’t wear yourselves out in your eagerness to have a child. Later, go buy some nutritious food and make some delicious meals for Jiayuan,” Li Haixiao said.

Xiao Wei blushed at the implication. Hadn’t he simply gotten carried away last night with Jiayuan? But the way his father put it, it seemed like he had become the bad guy.

”Okay, Dad. I understand. I’ll take good care of Jiayuan,” Xiao Wei replied.

...

The father and son chatted and enjoyed the meal Xiao Wei had prepared. Li Haixiao found Xiao Wei’s cooking incredibly delicious and wished he could eat his meals every day.

After breakfast, Li Haixiao went out for a run. He was committed to regular exercise, aiming to get his physical condition up to par for work at the company.

After Li Haixiao left, Xiao Wei took the meal he had prepared for Li Jiayuan and entered the bedroom. He saw Li Jiayuan was still asleep and couldn’t help but reflect: just how had he tormented Jiayuan for her to be so exhausted, sleeping for so long without waking up?

He set the food down by the computer desk and quietly approached Li Jiayuan, calling out, ”Wife, it’s time to get up. The sun’s shining on your butt...”

Groggily, Li Jiayuan felt as though she heard Xiao Wei calling her in her sleep. She tried hard to open her eyes, but couldn’t manage it; she felt so sleepy and wanted to keep sleeping.

”Wife...” Xiao Wei saw that Li Jiayuan didn’t respond to him and called out again.

”Stop it, I want to sleep,” Li Jiayuan mumbled, her eyelids feeling as heavy as lead and refusing to open as she spoke to Xiao Wei.

Xiao Wei could hardly believe his ears; had Li Jiayuan really just said that, or was he hallucinating?

”Wife...” This time, Xiao Wei called deliberately, probing whether he had just imagined her response.

”I already told you to stop it; don’t disturb my sleep, I’m really tired,” said Li Jiayuan, convinced that Xiao Wei purposely didn’t want to let her sleep and addressed him directly.

It wasn’t that she had misheard; it was indeed Li Jiayuan who had said those words.

”Little enchantress, do you know how irresistible you are? Considering how tired you were last night, I’ll let you off this time. But if you talk like that again, I’ll have to eat you up...”

Xiao Wei really couldn’t bear to disturb Li Jiayuan’s sleep. He bent down to kiss her forehead, tucked the blanket around her, and then turned to leave. He was now going out to buy nourishing foods for Li Jiayuan, thinking that if he didn’t get her health in order, how would he tease her in the future?

Xiao Wei went to the largest shopping mall in City A, where he really splurged. Watching him buy all these items, the sales associates treated him like a godsend. Every single thing he bought was the most expensive, and he left carrying several large bags. At checkout, the cashiers were so happy they could hardly contain their joy; their bonuses for the month were secure. They were truly grateful to this generous man for buying so much.

The shop assistants in the mall couldn’t help but gossip after Xiao Wei left.

”As long as we see this handsome guy, our bonuses are definitely safe.”

”Yeah, he really is loaded. He’s like our god of wealth!”

”Exactly! Today’s the last day of the month. If it weren’t for him buying all these expensive things, our bonuses would have gone down the drain.”

”Right, I just hope he comes every day.”

”Don’t be too greedy. I’d be happy if he came just once a month; one visit and my bonus is safe.”

...

While the group discussed Xiao Wei, he returned home with his purchases just as Li Jiayuan was waking up. Seeing him enter with so much stuff, she couldn’t help but be amazed.

So many items, and all so expensive—Xiao Wei really was wealthy.

Seeing Li Jiayuan sitting in the living room, Xiao Wei said to her, ”You’re up? You must be hungry by now. Wait, I’ll go make you something delicious.”

”Xiao Wei, what did you buy?” Li Jiayuan asked, puzzled.

”Ingredients to nourish your body...” Xiao Wei replied smoothly without thinking.

Li Jiayuan was taken aback. Nourish her body? He couldn’t be thinking...

”No need, my body is very healthy and doesn’t need nourishing,” said Li Jiayuan in a muddled tone, thinking Xiao Wei would give up. But to her surprise, Xiao Wei had an answer that cornered her.

”How could that be possible? If I don’t build up your health, what about my son?”

”Son?”

”Yes, my son. Isn’t he going to come from your belly?”

”That seems to be the case, but you don’t need to go to this extent to nourish my body...”

”I must. I’m going to make you some food.”

Having said that, Xiao Wei went into the kitchen. Li Jiayuan looked at all the ingredients and didn’t know whether to feel happy or sad. So much food—what was she going to do with it all in the future?

”Jiayuan, what kind of flavors do you feel like eating?” Xiao Wei asked, popping his head out of the kitchen.

However, Jiayuan’s mind had already drifted away, still fixated on the pile of ingredients. Looking at it all, she could almost feel the pain.

Seeing that Li Jiayuan wasn’t responding, Xiao Wei stopped asking and continued making her favorite dishes.

By the time Jiayuan snapped back to reality, she remembered those ingredients and thought that Xiao Wei was intent on fattening her up.

Xiao Wei was doing things according to Li Haixiao’s wishes; he knew how much Li Haixiao wanted to hold his grandchild. But Li Jiayuan had no idea that this was all her dad’s idea.
