My Alleged Husband

Chapter 108: Chapter 99 Zhang Mo’s Fury_1

After leaving the Star Coffee Shop, Xia Jing had planned to head straight back to the Zhang Family’s home, but on her way, she saw a mall selling exclusively children’s clothing, which made her stop her hurried pace and change direction towards the mall.

A row upon row of lovely children’s wear unfolded before Xia Jing’s eyes, which comforted her. As she looked at the clothes, she couldn’t help but imagine who her child might resemble more after birth. Drifting in her thoughts, she felt that a daughter would be better, believing that only a daughter would lean towards her mother. Sons, in her opinion, only wanted their fathers and not their mothers. She wanted a daughter, so even if she argued with Zhang Zhentian, she would still have a child by her side, not left in isolation. But Xia Jing didn’t know that the child she would eventually give birth to was not a daughter but a son. Of course, that was a story for another time.

”Miss, hello, can I help you with something?” A sales assistant approached and said to Xia Jing.

”I would like to know if these children’s clothes are for boys or girls?” Xia Jing looked up at the sales assistant.

”These are for boys, but if your child is under three years old, both boys and girls can wear them. After that, it’s not really suitable. Of course, that’s just my personal opinion; the key is that you have to like it yourself!”

”Okay, thank you. I’ll take a look by myself first!”

”Sure!”

Xia Jing browsed through the clothes in the mall and decided that these look nice and resolved to buy them.

Xia Jing felt full of happiness as she chose clothes for her unborn child in the mall, but times were not so easy for Zhang Zhentian and Aunt Xu at home!

”You tell me, where has Xia Jing gone? Such a grown person, she couldn’t have just vanished, could she?” Old Master Zhang had planned to take Xia Jing out for a stroll after getting off work from the company, but when he got home, he didn’t see a shadow of her.

”Dad, I honestly don’t know where Xia Jing has gone. Her legs are on her body; if she wants to go out, there’s nothing I can do!” Zhang Zhentian said to Old Master Zhang.

”Heh, you have no way, and even if you really have no way, don’t you know to follow her when she goes out? Are you even a husband?” Old Master Zhang felt like he was about to be driven mad by Zhang Zhentian and he directly roared at him.

”Dad, you’re so worried about Xia Jing just because you’re afraid your grandson will be taken away, aren’t you?” Zhang Zhentian, not one to be bullied, retorted while shaking his leg at his father.

”What are you talking about? Are you saying that I don’t care about Xia Jing? She’s your wife, and you as a man can’t even keep an eye on your own wife. What good are you? You’re simply useless!” Old Master Zhang had never called Zhang Zhentian ”useless” before, but now, for the sake of Xia Jing and the child in her belly, he actually called Zhang Zhentian useless, which really chilled his heart!

”Dad, for over twenty years, you’ve never called me useless for any person or any reason. To think that today, of all days, you call me useless for Xia Jing and my unborn child. Aren’t you afraid that Xia Jing will be unhappy if she hears this?” Zhang Zhentian no longer held back against Old Master Zhang and began to shout back!

”Zhang Zhentian, you rebellious child, your audacity grows by the day, to talk back to me like this!”

”Dad, can’t you understand my side? I don’t have the time or the obligation to keep an eye on Xia Jing every moment. Besides, Xia Jing is a person, too. She needs to go out for exercise, to do things. She’s not a pet, and it’s not possible for her to stay at home all day without stepping outside. Furthermore, we are in modern times, not ancient times. Can’t you change your feudal thinking? You always make me and Xia Jing feel suffocated!”

”So, it’s suffocating to think I want what’s best for you two? Fine then. As long as you give birth to the heir of Zhang Corporation, you can do whatever you like, and I will absolutely not interfere. Even if you want to move out, I have no objections. However, before the heir is born, keep your ideas in check, don’t think I don’t know what you’re planning! Now go find her quickly, look at the time—it’s not just you who is in a rush, I am too!”
