My Alleged Husband

Chapter 115: Chapter 103: Making a Name for Himself_1

”Xiao Wei, why do you think Zhang Zhentian would treat Elder Sister Xia like that? Could it be that all the deep affection he showed her before was just an act?” Li Jiayuan strolled alongside Xiao Wei by the lakeside, unable to help but ask him.

Xiao Wei didn’t understand what Li Jiayuan meant by her question, as he was unaware of how Zhang Zhentian had been treating Xia Jing over the past month. However, Li Jiayuan knew everything—Xia Jing had told her everything.

”Jiayuan, what do you mean by that? Has something happened to Elder Sister Xia?” Xiao Wei asked, in return.

That was when Li Jiayuan remembered that Xiao Wei didn’t know about it, but now she had let it slip—how was she going to handle this!

Seeing Li Jiayuan in a daze, Xiao Wei continued, ”Jiayuan, why have you gone quiet? We had an agreement, no matter what happens, we can’t keep secrets from each other!”

”Alright, I’ll tell you. Ever since Sister got married to Zhang Zhentian, he has been tormenting her every day. Now that Sister is finally pregnant, Zhang Zhentian still acts as if it’s none of his business!” Li Jiayuan told Xiao Wei everything Xia Jing had confided in her.

”Jiayuan, how did you come to know all this?” Xiao Wei couldn’t help asking; he thought it was improbable for Li Jiayuan to be this familiar with the affairs of the Zhang Family.

”Are you dumb? Haven’t I met with Sister? She told me all this herself, she looked like she had lost weight...” Li Jiayuan said to Xiao Wei with a sigh.

Xiao Wei looked at Li Jiayuan thoughtfully; he clearly remembered the words that Zhang Zhentian had spoken to Xia Jing at their wedding. But why did he change so much as soon as they got married?

”Xiao Wei, do you think we should confront Zhang Zhentian? After all, Elder Sister Xia is now like a sister to both of us. If our sister is in trouble, how can we, as her siblings, not lend a helping hand?” Li Jiayuan said as she saw Xiao Wei lost in thought.

Xiao Wei sighed and said to Li Jiayuan, ”Jiayuan, I know you mean well, and I’m also worried about Elder Sister Xia, but this is the path she has chosen for herself, we have no right to interfere. Maybe before long, Elder Sister Xia will be able to resolve this issue on her own. If we interfere too much, we might end up hurting Elder Sister Xia. Rather than regretting it later, it’s better not to get involved from the start!”

Li Jiayuan felt Xiao Wei made a lot of sense, but she genuinely regarded Xia Jing as her own family. She had no ulterior motives—she simply acknowledged Xia Jing’s place in her heart. It was because of this that Li Jiayuan was truly worried about Xia Jing.

”Alright, since you say so, I won’t say much more. Everything is up to Sister’s fate now. Maybe while we’re worrying about them here, they’ve already made up and are lovingly devoted to each other, right?” Li Jiayuan said, tilting her head to ask Xiao Wei.

Xiao Wei affectionately stroked Li Jiayuan’s head, and she shyly smiled.

”By the way, Xiao Wei, I have to tell you some good news, Sister is pregnant...”

Upon hearing this news, Xiao Wei’s face was indecipherable.

”Xiao Wei, why aren’t you saying anything? Aren’t you happy to hear this news?” Li Jiayuan didn’t understand why Xiao Wei showed such an inscrutable expression upon hearing the news.

”It’s nothing, I... I’m just too happy. I can’t believe Elder Sister Xia got pregnant so quickly. I’m going to be an uncle, Jiayuan, I’m going to be an uncle...” Xiao Wei said excitedly as he swept Li Jiayuan into an embrace, startling her with the intensity of his emotions.

”Yeah, it would be so nice if we could have a child too,” Li Jiayuan muttered to herself.

”Jiayuan, what are you muttering about?”

”Nothing, let’s go see how Elder Sister Xia is doing!”

”Okay, let’s go!”

Hand in hand, the two bought some nourishing gifts and went to visit Xia Jing at the Zhang Family home.

Zhang Family.

”Aunt Xu, hello, I’m Elder Sister Xia’s brother. We’ve come to see her. Is Elder Sister Xia home?” Xiao Wei explained to Aunt Xu.

Aunt Xu recognized Xiao Wei—she had seen him at Xia Jing’s wedding, where he had carried Xia Jing in his arms. ”I know you. I saw you at Xia Jing’s wedding, although I don’t know your name... Xia Jing is at home, come in quickly. I’ll call her!” she told Xiao Wei.
