Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 950: Chapter 746: The Mithril Elves of the Hidden Forest

Hill once again surveyed the forest, finally choosing Living Wood as the core of the Forest Array: as long as there are Druids, they can communicate directly with such trees, and nothing in the forest can be hidden from them.

He looked down and asked gently, ”I am Lord Hill of Agleya. Who is hiding behind the tree?”

Unless it’s a Nature System deity, no one can compete with Hill for control over the plants. Teraxil’s Natural Consciousness overly favored Hill, doubling its goodwill towards him no matter which world he was in.

So, Hill noticed those figures who teleported over after stopping at Purwell right from the start... He could even sense that these Mithril Elves were teleported from a small community in the forest center, composed of Gloomy Trees and Shadow Crown Trees.

Gloomy Trees are suitable for building tree houses, while Shadow Crown Trees tower into the clouds. The canopy of Shadow Crown Trees covers the sky and the sun, not only helping the elves hide but also making excellent ropes. For elves wanting to cook, it’s also good wood, producing almost no smoke and burning slowly, with a few thin branches and leaves capable of supporting a night’s bonfire.

So that place should be the secret refuge of the Mithril Elves for so many years, which explains the abundance of Living Wood.

Elves hiding in such a manner is meaningless when encountering a Nature Master... but such beings wouldn’t trouble the elves.

Three Mithril Elves gracefully slid out from behind the tree: at the forefront stood a female elf with golden hair and violet eyes sparkling with starlight. Though she was only about 1.5 meters tall, she appeared much more imposing than the two male elves behind her: one with red hair and one with silver hair, both with gray eyes.

”Honorable Lord Hill, I am Solkiel: Kessexili McBride of the Correllon faith, a member of the Mithril Elves Royal Family, responsible for protecting our brothers and sisters in the Hidden Forest.” The female elf respectfully bowed.

This current leader of the Hidden Forest is a Sixth Order Priest of the Coron faith, and considering her rank before taking office, this Priestess is at least Level 16.

Followers of Coron are known for their eloquent speech, and without understanding her words’ meaning, it’s hard to comprehend her identity.

Hill noticed the Gauntlet Sword she wore on her hand: the hilt covered with deep blue straps and the silver blade inscribed with tiny Elf Runes.

The aura of Mithril couldn’t be mistaken by Hill; this must be the Creator’s Hand... This uniquely styled weapon is Coron’s reward to priests he is satisfied with, and only those with Elven Bloodline can wield it.

When the user possesses Elven Bloodline, the Creator’s Hand will cast the Creator’s Curse on any creature it strikes that lacks Elven Bloodline, leaving enemies in a constant state of trembling and surrounded by Demon Fire.

”Hello, I didn’t expect to meet a Wild Star here,” Hill said with a smile.

Wild Star is the term outsiders use for priests like Solkiel: this is the church of the Elven creator Coron, and with the elves’ nature, all names are, of course, lengthy and hard to remember.

The result is that most have nicknames... even the elves themselves prefer simpler adjectives.

Hill saying this was only to tell them that although he was related by blood to Coron, he was not a follower.

Otherwise, the elves would rack their brains to figure out what rank of priest Hill should be, and they wouldn’t rest until the matter was understood.

But it was fine since Hill didn’t believe in Coron... Elves never forced anyone’s faith.

Kessexili sighed with regret, but indeed didn’t dwell on this matter, she simply introduced the two elves behind her: ”Andrea Nobus, my Captain of the Guard. Asset Patrick, my Chief Aide.”

”Honorable Lord of Agleya, good day.” The two male elves bowed their heads respectfully.

”You are aware of the matter of the White Dragons soon settling here, aren’t you?” Hill asked gently, ”If there are areas you wish them not to enter, you can tell me, and I will set up Isolation Arrays.”

Kessexili’s violet eyes twinkled with stardust: ”If possible, could you isolate the fortress in our central area? We understand these White Dragons are owned, but we worry they may want to nest in the Shadow Crown Trees.

It’s not that we’re stingy... but the leaves of the Shadow Crown Tree are also very useful to us.”

Hill glanced at her dark yellow Elven Leaf Armor, where the edges of the leaves were serrated, finger-like, similar to oak leaves, yet with feather-like patterns. It seemed Mithril Elves excelled at using Shadow Crown Tree leaves to make such Arcane Armor, which boosted agility and reduced spell failure rate.

He nodded: ”Sure, it’s your right. Lead the way up.”

Hill flicked out three long vines, and with a slight movement of his fingers, he pulled the three elves onto the terrace, then directed Purwell to fly towards the tallest Shadow Crown Tree.

After Kessexili landed gracefully, she looked at the sky and sighed: ”We haven’t seen the appearance of the sky for a long time.”

”You can look as much as you like from now on,” Hill said nonchalantly.

The leader of the Mithril Elves meant to ask Hill whether, after they became vassals of the Agleya territory, they would be able to walk freely on the Northern Continent.

Hill gave her an affirmative answer.

”Then, can our space station be directly moved outside the Hidden Forest in the future?” Kessexili asked softly, ”Before that, we always hid it on a small asteroid of the Tears of Celene.”

”As long as it doesn’t violate Agleya’s rules, anything other elves in the Toril world can do, you can do as well,” Hill recalled that General Gael also had a space station, used for admiral meetings that spanned the oceans.

”Honorable Lord of Agleya.” Patrick bowed before asking, ”Do you know how long this world blockade will last?”

”I estimate it won’t be short.” Hill answered with an unchanged expression, ”Here in Sword Bay, because there are enough Chosen ones, the Weave is restored the fastest, and most territories have the ability to keep their land from being reorganized by the Primordial Power, so they don’t feel much harm.

However, other parts of Toril are not so safe, the storm of Primordial Power has never stopped... spatial rifts are also everywhere.

Only when the entire world is completely restored will Toril reopen its connection with the outside world. Now, trying to create even a simple passage for sending goods requires mighty divine power to achieve.”

Patrick nodded, his face a bit dismal, and fell into silent contemplation without saying a word.

”Honorable Lord of Agleya, please forgive Asset’s rudeness.” Nobus glanced at Patrick before explaining directly, ”His daughter is currently stationed at the space station, and in the long run, supplies there might run short... They should have sent someone up for exchange this year.”

Hill replied nonchalantly, ”I can’t bring them in, but supplying them with materials is not a problem. Just tell me the coordinates and I’ll ask... hmm... Coron’s messenger to help send the goods.”

Patrick asked in shock, ”Is this really possible? How can you have a Divine Envoy do such a trivial task?”

”Rest assured! Rashrael is easy to talk to.” Hill smiled, ”Just call me Hill, there’s no need for such formalities.”

The Mithril Elves looked at each other... They originally thought that the Teraxil Elves might have a way to notify their kin in other worlds, after all, they came to Toril through the Star Gate to see if their kin had a means to enter the Stellar Realm.

But can it be done this way... directly asking a servant of Coron to do it... is this the confidence of a Divine Child?

But in fact, Hill’s confidence wasn’t because of his bloodline, but because he could directly hand the matter to William to handle.

Purwell had already reached the Shadow Crown Tree.

Amid layers of branches reaching 30 meters high, starlight could be seen flickering... this should be the Mithril Elves who discovered Purwell, hiding in the Shadow Crown Tree to observe the situation.

Once pressured, the wood of the Shadow Crown Tree would crumble into fibrous fragments. The elves, lightweight as they were, could agilely walk on its branches, whereas if a human of similar stature would tread upon them, the branches would shatter under the weight.

Therefore, to humans, these trees had no value besides being good firewood... For rope making, they could use low shrubbery and resilient grass.

Hill turned to Kessexili and said, ”Where is the oldest piece of Living Wood?”

The female elf pointed to a piece of Living Wood hidden by the nearby Dam Trees in the west of the camp: ”At the Dam Trees, they were planted together, and we really hope to have our own Treant.”

Hill nodded: ”Let’s go over directly. The Array in the Hidden Forest will be managed by you in the future. This piece of Living Wood, as the core of a multifaceted magic array, will certainly grow quickly.”

He could at most cast a low-level Nature’s Blessing to help these trees grow, but transforming them into Treants wasn’t possible.

Landing beside the Living Wood surrounded by Dam Trees, Hill communicated with it directly. This ability, which seemed to have ”Plant Conversation” Spell constantly active, made the nearby Mithril Elves envious.

Even the usually steady-natured Mithril Elves couldn’t contain their curiosity... Within one minute of Hill appearing here, all around the big trees were filled with watching elves.

This older piece of Living Wood gladly agreed to the request of managing the entire forest, which let Hill breathe a sigh of relief... Trees also have tempers, and most are lazy; upon hearing such a troublesome issue, many would directly refuse.

Luckily, he was fortunate, and the first Living Wood he communicated with was a diligent one.

He called Kessexili, asking her to place her hand on the Living Wood’s trunk, and to work on dispersing her spiritual power around this tree; Hill then summoned the complete Forest Array.

The Living Wood around the forest were awakened one by one, resonating with the primary tree here, and finally merging Kessexili’s spiritual power together. From now on, this Mithril Elf became the first-level administrator of this large multifaceted magic array.
