Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 951: Chapter 747: Hill Tests the Neighbors

Kessexili’s joy was evident, even the stars circling above her seemed to shine brighter.

Cooperation with the Teraxil Elves was imperative, even if it meant they had to tolerate the presence of the White Dragon, but it was impossible not to feel anxious... even though respect for Coron led them to take this step.

However, the performance of the Teraxil Elves left the Mithril Elves somewhat perplexed. Although they resembled traditional elves in many ways... there were also aspects that the Mithril Elves, who had fought against giant dragons for many years, found unsettlingly familiar.

Yet Kessexili had great faith in her guardians’ judgment... As the leader of the Mithril Elves, she couldn’t ask ordinary elves to do too much unnecessary work... The shops in the Hidden Town were mostly run by her guards.

And the most representative hair accessory shop of the Mithril Elves, primarily selling works of family members, was directly managed by her Guardian Officer... Other shops could have issues, but not this one.

The Mithril Elves have always been aloof and delicate... To put it bluntly, they don’t really like interacting with the outside world, yet they are sensitive and self-centered, and persuading them to put their handmade products in stores was something Kessexili had to achieve through persuasion.

If something were to go wrong with this store, even Coron stepping in wouldn’t help.

During her free time, Kessexili would also patrol around there... she met a few interesting Teraxil Elf girls, whose personalities were strong, independent, and bold in their ways, yet they were filled with gentle affection toward young human children.

This wasn’t condescending sympathy or pity, but a genuine hope from the heart that the little human girl would become better and better, and they even thoughtfully considered the little girl’s self-esteem.

Therefore, after communicating with the leader of the Teraxil Elves and knowing that a strong family had to settle, Kessexili thought of those girls’ families and, after inquiring that their Clan Leader was also a female from that Divine Artifact’s avatar, decided to request that family to be stationed here.

The Black Rose, noble and beautiful, represents a unique love. Even though Kessexili hadn’t seen their Clan Leader yet, she had already imagined that she must be a wise and beautiful lady.

However, even with the mindset that her clansmen could get along well, Kessexili was still a little worried.

To put it plainly, the reason they could attain the status they have now is because their partners are elves, and the witnessing deity is Coron.

It’s not because they themselves are particularly strong.

The number of members in the Black Rose Family... those registered alone numbered over a hundred thousand... if even a small portion were hostile toward them, all the Mithril Elves together would be of no use.

Even if ultimately the other leader could handle matters impartially, still... No Mithril Elf hoped to be the one seeking redress.

No matter how fair the trial, it can’t make up for the punches they’ve taken, or the lives they’ve lost.

Admittedly, they might be overthinking, but... when faced with the unknown, they always feel trepidation, so she’s been somewhat worried these past few days.

Hill’s arrival had already put her more at ease. He was recognized by Coron, acknowledged as Kind Alignment, and most importantly, he was strong enough. In the current Toril, he was practically the top. He would not allow anyone to harm his vassal elves.

Indeed... With her forehead gently pressed against the trunk of the Living Wood, Kessexili smiled with joy. With this Forest Array in hand, the Mithril Elves could protect themselves in any situation... Even when faced with an insurmountable enemy, they could at least hold out until rescue arrived!

Hill looked at them and nodded: ”The array has been set, and there should be nothing to worry about... If there’s anything you need, you can have the Teraxil Elves notify me. They have a means to locate me swiftly.”

Hill turned his head to look around: ”Where’s your aide? Remember to give me the coordinates of the space station.”

Patrick, with silver hair, quickly approached from the direction of the camp, presenting a small Mithril orb with both hands to Hill, his gray eyes filled with anticipation: ”Lord Hill, here it is.”

Taking the Mithril Orb in hand, Hill quickly sensed an illusory light sketching a map of the Stellar Realm and the space station coordinates in his Mental Sea.

He nodded to the several Mithril Elves before him: ”Rest assured... I will have Rashrael send twenty years’ worth of supplies over... If, after twenty years, Toril still doesn’t open, then more will be sent.

All are children of Coron, even if I don’t say so, he would respond to your prayers and lend a hand... He despises only those elves who forget their familial ties due to power struggles, not all elves will be rejected by him.

Do not feel inadequate and thus give up beseeching him; such is not respectful of him.”

Although Hill disagreed with Coron on many issues, this Father of Elves had never abandoned his people first... That the elves of Toril had reached this point today comes with a track record of untold sins.

Kessexili gently touched the gauntlet sword in her hand, her tone soft: ”The Father of Elves has always been the protector of the Elves... The Mithril Elves have never doubted this.

But we, who fled the continent because of the Crown War, are always a bit ashamed...”

Hill smiled slightly, this person truly is a devout believer in Coron. Everyone understands why the faith of Toril Elves in Coron has discounted over time.

The Crown War, which lasted tens of thousands of years, was ignited by Coron’s former wife, Rose, and their unfortunate son.

But Coron only kept asking Rose to stop her actions and set limits everywhere... until Rose planned to eliminate him too... in fact, it was almost like that, though Coron didn’t die, he was poisoned and imprisoned... The trinity of goddesses, Coron’s second queen, were forced to emerge due to this event, and together they rescued Coron.

Only at this point did Coron strike Rose and her cohorts down into the Abyss... back then, she still bore the beautiful name of Aroshi.

Otherwise, Coron’s attitude towards the Toril Elves wouldn’t be so conflicted. To be honest, neither Rose nor the participants of the Crown War knew who polluted whom... Rose, though the beginning, was also submerged by those dreadful schemes in turn.

Initially, this lady merely wanted to contest her position among the Elves, not crazily thinking she could eliminate Coron and become the new Crowned King of Avando.

Since then, the priests and clerics of the Coron Church became somewhat estranged from Elven society, and protectors’ involvement in the governance of the Elf Kingdom was far less than one might imagine. The position of Coron’s followers among the Elves reflected Coron’s nature of guarding and creation, rather than his status as the Crowned King of Avando and ruler of all Elves.

This is partly why the Elves became so self-indulgent later, realizing only after transforming their great empire into an island... and the direction of their remorse was somewhat strange, prioritizing the contest for royal power.

”Get along well with the Teraxil Elves... Make every effort to help when they need you.” Hill took careful note, instructing the Mithril Elves before flying up into the air, ”Do not show discrimination against any race... Present your elegance and beauty!

Do not, for some inexplicable reason, disgrace Coron, and also, hope for the Teraxil Elves to have the chance to join the battle in Hieldil.

I suppose, compared to a forced escape, you would rather protect your home fortress?”

Kessexili’s expression turned serious instantly, solemnly saluting alongside the clan members sliding down the surrounding big trees: ”We will make sure to handle everything carefully.”

Hill nodded to them with a smile, then turned and returned to Purwell.

It seems the White Dragon Queen intends to bring over a large group of people... I wonder if Elvia has rushed to the north of Icewind Valley.

Hill pondered for a while and decided to assign the task of escorting the White Dragon hatchlings to Agleya to the Undead Tribe, conveniently passing by Long Saddle Town occupied by the Mage Family, Haber.

If the Haber Family is a bit smart, they will certainly find an opportunity to connect with the Undead Tribe... The Haber Family, with many members being Neutral Good, faces significant challenges in the current state of the Mage Plague.

Although their mages are powerful, they do not surpass the archmages who cast through the Weave. While various strange objects around can still protect their safety, there might be problems when the nearby Neverwinter begins causing trouble... If those Great Archmages want to acquire something nice, the easiest thing to obtain recently would be the Haber Family’s collections.

The Haber Family has existed here for too long, having a better relation with Deepwater City, therefore never really connecting with Agleya City... How could the Weave Mages not choose Mystra’s Chosen?

Hill doesn’t have much opinion on them either; as long as they don’t involve themselves in his disputes with Kelben, Hill has no interest in attacking a group of mages with a maximum level of 20.

But now, the situation is different.

The Haber Family has always been deeply knowledgeable about the underworld... The most important thing is, they actually have family members in the Underworld.

Although this is a secret.

However, in Toril, the existence of All Gods has made those secrets semi-public... Unless when the Haber Family contacts the other side, they possess the ability to establish their own independent channel, instead of going through the Weave.

Hill touched the map in his hand, instructing the Undead Tribe to come directly from the far west of the Hidden Forest, where there’s a main road leading to Deepwater City.

Upon returning, he would connect a wide road, looping around that large lake and extending to Agleya City, merely a matter of tens of kilometers that could be completed in a day.

Then it will depend on Long Saddle Town’s attitude towards the dragon convoy passing through their area.
