Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 942: Chapter 738: Super Broker Elvia Tulais

”What can I say?” William said slowly, ”The Mithril Elves and Teraxil Elves get along well, and they’ve officially become allies. They hope when the Stellar Realm passage reopens, the Teraxil Elves can visit their Star Fortress.”

”Tch, have they been knocked silly by brainless Stellar creatures?” Elvia flashed a mocking smile, ”They can’t even handle half-orcs... yet they think they can deal with those Outer Realm pirates, who are more numerous than locusts!”

”The Mithril Elves’ Hieldil Outer Plane Fortress faced enemies from the Nilssai Race.” William said in a gentle tone, ”It’s no wonder they find it difficult to resist.”

Elvia stiffened for a moment, her memory summoned those disgusting creatures: the Sorcerer Race from the Ethereal Plane that looked like worms and were just as numerous...

She calmly contemplated, anyway, the White Dragons sometimes eat ugly bugs... they probably won’t be grossed out by such things... besides, Edna wouldn’t go there!

Elvia felt this matter didn’t affect her much, so she quietly lay down, leaving the subsequent affairs to Edna to handle.

As for having the White Dragons reside in the Hidden Forest, she wouldn’t mind... it’s not like they willingly chose to live in the barren Ice Plain.

Even if some of the White Dragons just want freedom, it doesn’t matter... based on Elvia’s understanding of her kin, such White Dragons couldn’t be more than a tenth of their population.

And Elvia actually didn’t care much about those ambitious White Dragons. These guys, barely a few years old but mature so rapidly, were born from Dragon Eggs sent down by the Nine-Faced Dragon God during the Year of Thunder.

Possibly because their bloodlines were ancient and blessed by deities, they grew extremely fast and had slightly higher intelligence than ordinary White Dragons... who knows if the heritage memory provided by that Dragon God was from a more distant era, making them unbearably proud, convinced the Ice Plain would eventually be theirs!

Yet the original White Dragons of the Ice Plain indeed couldn’t compete with them, especially the newly matured young White Dragons who were genuinely bullied. Elvia and Arausato weren’t about to deal with the hopes the Dragon God bestowed on Toril’s dragons over such trivial matters.

Elvia wasn’t seeking a new patron solely because of Toril World’s reformation; she genuinely worried that these White Dragons might grow so fast that, in a few centuries, they could surpass her thousands of years of accumulated experience... the crux is, possibly due to the same aura, the White Dragons sent by the Dragon God are remarkably united.

Especially after Arausato was heavily injured during the Luskan Magic Tower raid, in the eyes of those hatchlings, it was somehow construed that Arausato wasn’t worthy of the Ancient White Dragon’s prowess.

Tch, in fact, if the Lord of Agleya hadn’t exhibited such prowess while occupying Luskan, she would’ve found a way to urge those little hatchlings to directly storm Luskan.

Unfortunately... too many White Dragons were spectating at that time, and the hatchlings were scared back.

Elvia laid her head on her front paw, her tail lightly flicking in the air: now, these useless old folks were leaving the desolate Ice Plain with the little good-for-nothings... let’s see if they have the capability to hold their ground on the World’s Ridge.

Hope they don’t die at the hands of half-orcs... Elvia revealed a malicious smile; she and Arausato had to save face for the Nine-Faced Dragon God, but not for half-orcs.

Edna sensed the waves of malice emanating from her magical pet on the other side of her mental sea, and couldn’t help but tap the large claw: ”Tone it down, Elvia.”

The White Dragon quietly shifted its head to the other front paw.

Edna looked up at the Lord of Agleya and that divine artifact crystal flickering with a peculiar light, calmly speaking: ”This contract is already very satisfactory for me and Lady Elvia Tulais, we have no further objections... moving to the Hidden Forest is no problem, so what about me? Can I stay in Luskan?”

”The Black Rose will be stationed at the Hidden Town... don’t you get along well with the Mithril Elves? The person in charge over there specifically requested them.” William’s voice emerged with a hint of humor, ”As for Miss Edna, of course, you’ll also have to move over there. The White Dragon matters still need your and Lady Elvia Tulais’s input.

I’ve already asked Hill and Ms. Laila to discuss this, the White Dragon Queen signing the contract with you is related to her, so she naturally won’t have any objections.”

Elvia unabashedly stated: ”Why should I make any effort?”

Whoever wants the White Dragons should do the work; she would only pass the message to the Ice Plain’s White Dragons, not plan on putting in the effort herself.

Her mere presence in that small town was already a form of assurance... without her, Lady Elvia Tulais, the White Dragons wouldn’t obediently press their paw prints!

”The person overseeing this matter can receive five diamonds from the Teraxil Elves who wish to form a contract with the White Dragons.” William stated firmly, ”Each!”

”What do I need to do?” Elvia naturally inquired.

Edna shifted uneasily on the sofa, stealing a glance at the lord of Agleya, only to see a face as calm as still water.

The little girl quickly composed herself; dragons, regardless of their kind, probably behaved similarly in this regard.

The Teraxil elves are so thick-skinned that they might not even be as shameless as dragons when it comes to money.

Edna had observed for a long time that the Sanda King sister and her companions were all wealthy, including those who enjoyed playing tricks on her, and seemed to pay little attention to gold coins.

No, Edna tilted her head and thought; when she accompanied the Sanda King into the Alchemy Hall to take on tasks, the Sanda King always aimed for the most valuable ones.

But after earning a few hundred gold in a day with great effort, they could spend thousands in an instant, seemingly with bulging pockets.

Edna had always admired the Sanda King and her companions, being so wealthy yet still persisting in doing such tedious tasks... Edna felt she couldn’t do it. If she had enough money to live on, she’d prefer staying home to research magic.

”By the way, Miss Edna will also receive a corresponding salary.” William’s voice entered Edna’s ears, and she quickly lifted her head, staring closely at the glowing diamond-shaped crystal. What?

”Miss Edna is the master of Lady Elvia Tulais! It’s impossible for her to stay in the Hidden Town for free!” A beautiful voice came from the crystal, making Edna’s heart flutter. ”Every Teraxil elf who signs a contract with a White Dragon will pay you a fee: generally, it’s 500 gold.

I think this should be enough to cover your and Lady Elvia Tulais’s daily needs... We won’t let your life be worse than it is now after taking you away from your dependable guardian.”

Edna touched the storage bracelet on her wrist... she still had some money, so she never worried about not being able to support Elvia.

But if she had more money, she could start learning the making of strange objects; being away from Laila, she could use many secret spells freely.

The teacher in her dreams taught her many things, but in reality, she hadn’t made much. Those few times were done secretly in the Sanda King’s mushroom hut.

Edna knew well that it wouldn’t matter if the encyclopedia was exposed, but her dream teacher... with black hair and eyes, enchantingly beautiful, casting all sorts of spells with ease and without the need for the Weave... she wasn’t foolish; she guessed that this was one of her ancestors, the former Goddess of Magic!

Her presence must not be known to outsiders: the spells she learned, as Black Eye teacher put it, were the most basic utilizations of primordial energy, requiring no complicated spells, so they were not in any encyclopedia!

Edna sighed regretfully in her heart, actually, Black Eye teacher already seemed much like a real person... but after interacting with Lucy, she realized it was just an intelligence core with fragments of the former Mystra’s memory, unlike Lucy who was full of emotions... more like a tool.

As soon as Edna mastered certain knowledge, Black Eye would unhesitatingly open the next Chapter... This lady not only taught spell-related courses but was also well-versed in astrophysics, geography, and the political history, including the dark history of the deities; when Edna consulted her about certain matters, she could analyze them comprehensively.

Edna often compared Black Eye’s analysis of certain events with the Sanda King’s words to learn, though she preferred some of the Sanda King sister’s strategies, but had to admit, Black Eye’s judgments were very accurate... though the strategies were a bit bizarre, always liking to target human nature...

”What do you mean by generally?” Elvia Tulais interrupted Edna’s contemplation, ”Does it mean Edna, the master’s level of dragons, receives more money? What about me?”

”Of course, of course... it also increases incrementally.” William was silent for a few seconds before speaking, ”Lady Elvia Tulais, you should understand, by generally I meant adult dragons, right?”

”Who’s going to pay a baby?” Elvia Tulais said as a matter of course.

”Are many mature or elder dragons going to come?” William said somewhat confusedly, ”I thought...”

”With such good treatment, even ancient dragons will come!” Elvia directly cut off William’s words, ”Don’t think that just because White Dragons live to be ancient, they’re all like me... the reason they can live so long is through shamelessness!

So, this deity of Teraxil, what’s the referral fee for high-level dragons?”

Edna lightly covered her eyes with a hand: In Elvia’s mental sea, she was already recalling the locations of all adult White Dragons on the Ice Plain... if the price was right, she even planned to go to Icewind Valley.

William carelessly reported the doubled price, and Elvia’s eyes lit up with a green glow.
