Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 907: Chapter 703: Aber’s Human Traits Are Terrifying!

Facing Fran’s confusion, Hill could only helplessly ask, ”Grandfather, did you never get any news about Toril from over there in Aber?”

”That place... there aren’t many cultured people, even the Mages are the same. They don’t really investigate the principles of spells, they just see if they can use them.

Compared to Mages, they resemble Magicians more... but they can tailor their learning of spells to their own physique, and they like to make contracts with Elemental Spirits to deepen their resonance with certain elements.

They’re not elemental descendents, so what’s the matter with learning a few extra things?

As a result, they think I’m an anomaly, saying I’ll die early from elemental conflict,” Fran sighed, ”The most knowledgeable are the Dragons... but you’ve seen those two Black Dragons, what do you think they could tell me?

They even said the Deities fear the greatness of Dragons, so they don’t dare come to Aber!

And they told me that Toril is a battlefield for Dragons and Deities, that eventually they’ll drive them out and all the Deities will fall!

I inquired about the Elves, hoping to determine the capability level of that world by understanding the situation of the Elves in Toril.

At least the Demigod abilities of the Elven race I can still ascertain.

But that Black Dragon said Elves were a great food source... the reason they don’t exist in Aber is because their ancestors ate them all.

I immediately knew something was wrong when I heard this, I’ve witnessed Coron— even if an Elven God King is such a useless... worthless guy, he could still wipe out all the Dragons on their continent.

But the Black Dragon truly believes this, Aber is full of dragons like them who never think for themselves, whatever their elders say, they accept as truth.

The Black Dragon Elders are very cunning, it’s particularly exhausting talking to them, and I don’t know why they’ve reared the younger dragons to be so foolish.”

Hill was dumbfounded, ”Boasting like this... Aber’s Ancient Dragons truly aren’t afraid of death.

They probably don’t plan to leave Aber their entire lives... the Dragons on that continent better pray they return to Aber before the grey mist disappears, or the consequences won’t be good.

It’s because those Primordials have no goodwill towards the Deities that they can spout such nonsense.”

Fran looked at him with interest, ”It sounds like the Toril Deities are nothing like what I know.

What exactly is that Goddess of Magic like?

The Dragons said she’s a worthless tool created by Suren.”

I really don’t know what twisted information he’s heard from those Dragons of Aber!

Hill pulled Fran directly back into the study, took out his compiled records of Toril, and introduced Fran to the intricacies of the connections between Toril Deities and the world, and why the world would reorganize if the Goddess of Magic were killed.

The innocent are without guilt, even if Fran’s words were heard by the Deities, they wouldn’t be angry with him, since the ringleaders are fine!

But if Fran continues to hold onto such impressions in the future, he might find himself in trouble, very easily exploited.

Aside from being interrupted by Purwell, who had left the grey mist area to ask where to go, Hill spent a long time talking.

Hill actually wanted to go straight back to Agleya, but after coming out of the grey mist, they directly appeared south of the Great Sea, at the edge of the Oser Continent, which self-proclaimed civilized humans had yet to tread.

This grassland-like continent is home only to some tribes with original beliefs and a large number of non-human races. Besides some courageous adventurers, even pirates rarely appear.

Although the minerals are indeed quite rich, this continent mainly produces iron ore, with a portion of gold ores deeply buried underground, not worth adventurers crossing the dangerous ocean to such a distant place.

On the seas of Toril, danger abounds, and few have the courage to chart an unknown maritime route; at least in this world with the Prophecy Technique, the Oser Continent isn’t worth anyone risking their lives to seek it... they can’t even capture a few slaves.

The members of the primitive tribes here are not like the Maztikans who were easily trained, they will only fight until the last moment of life, without compromising.

Hill naturally had no interest in this continent, places with only metal mines were of no use to him. After consulting Fran’s opinion, he had Purwell slowly detour back to the Ferun Great Land by sea.

No choice, the air in Toril isn’t stable enough for now.

Just as well, he could thoroughly erase the nonsense from the Aber Dragons from Fran’s head before returning to Agleya... aren’t those Ancient Dragons worried about some reckless junior rushing to Toril to participate in battle?

...No, Chromatic Dragons are always spectators in battles, they indeed have nothing to worry about: the phrase ’fighting for the future of Chromatic Dragons’ truly does not inspire any Chromatic Dragon to battle.

Probably the Evil Dragons of Aber are inwardly cheering for their brave Toril kin while enjoying their lives in leisure.

Purwell walked not very fast, as the oceans are not safe now... Although he will not alert the sea creatures, the space rifts constantly appearing in the sea are dangerous enough.

Occasionally, some good things appear... not materials, but genuine strange secret treasures.

Many high-level demons and devils secretly stay in Toril enjoying life, especially on some remote and resource-rich islands in the ocean, which are almost paradises for these creatures.

But the Magicplague has almost sent all existences unwillingly entertained by the world of Toril out of the mundane world.

Especially these obviously evil existences... regardless of whether their goal in Toril is to destroy the world, those above demigods were all forced to roll away.

Actually, this world restructuring has been extremely costly for demons. Previously, those demons who replaced the great nobles of various countries, to at least avoid detection by the grand temples, had to be a Duke of Demons.

Many countries maintained cautious silence about the mysterious disappearance of great nobles within their territory until discovering many such occurrences elsewhere, finally breathing a sigh of relief.

However, it seems these demons or devils were not very happy when sent away.

The large number of strange secret treasures floating on the ocean can prove their last struggles; otherwise, these objects should have gone home with them.

Hill examined a fist-sized black sphere sent specially to the study by List... this item, similar to a type of secret treasure he knows, but its function is completely different.

Secret treasures, cannot exist identically... He couldn’t mistake this energy fluctuation, but what’s with this attribute?

Hill found a book on the shelf that introduced Toril’s cults in great detail, and he carefully compared it, ultimately summoning external assistance: ”Grandfather, come and see if these two items are the same.”

Fran examined for a while and judged confidently: ”They are definitely the same... changing the properties of alchemy items isn’t very normal?”

”This is the secret treasure Destruction Black Hole of Entropy Worship, also called Quel Senta Royal Jewels, originally... is a very evil legendary item.” Hill marvelled as he observed the black sphere whose properties had completely changed, ”Always controlled by the Karanok family... This item can fall into the sea, perhaps that family’s Lusquequa City is already gone.”

Looks like it has long been substituted by demons or devils, that family, indeed daring to worship black holes in this world is essentially offering sheep to the mouth of evil.

Hill handed this black sphere to Fran: ”Grandfather, keep this thing! For me, it’s just a warehouse weight, but this altered attribute is quite suitable for you.

Just right... can learn a bit about Toril’s force field magic; I’ve always found this quite interesting.”

Fran looked at Hill, then focused to sense the abilities of the little black sphere, asking speechlessly: ”Very practical magic? No use to you at all?”

”Not at all.” Hill took out his magic book, though afraid to use it temporarily, but showing it to Fran is no problem, ”This is what I commonly use in Toril. But now I’m afraid to use it, the level is too high.”

Fran quietly flipped through the magic book: he felt nothing about the first two Chapters, which were Hill’s talents; inherently his strongest ability.

But those Chapters at the back...

Though he didn’t understand many spell principles, he could see to what extent these spells could achieve... This thing seems simple, but most people, even using the same methods, probably can’t achieve this effect.

It’s not that whenever someone creates a magic book, the abilities obtained each time are top-tier.

Fran silently closed the magic book; he had a feeling that even if he thoroughly learned these spells later, he couldn’t achieve this level.

He could guarantee the strength of his magic, but he couldn’t guarantee that the combination of these magics would achieve a perfect fusion.

”You haven’t shown this magic book to others, right?” Though knowing Hill shouldn’t be so silly, Fran couldn’t help but confirm. Being lucky once is one thing; letting people know would only make them envious, but being lucky every time is best hidden.

Hill smiled awkwardly: ”I wouldn’t dare! I haven’t even mentioned it to friends I’ve made in Toril.”

Fran gave Hill a look: ”It seems like they are indeed very good friends, which is good; you haven’t closed yourself off just because you’re in another world.”

Then he sighed and shook his head: ”But this also requires meeting normal people to do! I wanted to make friends in Aber, but the ones I have the closest relationship with are actually two black dragons I’ve beaten half to death several times.

Though they’re lazy, greedy, lustful, and gluttonous, after resigning themselves, they can talk like normal people.

I really don’t have much to say about Aber, the humans there... tch, somewhat like Edward.”

Hill looked sympathetically at Fran.

One Edward appearing is a comedy; a group of Edwards... that’s infinite horror, right?
