Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 922: Chapter 718: Poor Kratos

Elvia Tulais tried to make herself appear more sincere: ”We need food to raise those little ones... Originally, I thought it was a good time, even the lowest-ranking White Dragons could survive... Now, not many adventurers dare to play the dragon-slaying game.

So indeed, many little dragons were born this year... If you hadn’t occupied Luskan, we probably would have set off to rob by now.

But the encounter of Claujeliatmata makes us dare not go south, while those in the Icewind Valley are about to starve to death themselves.

Look, at this time, we wouldn’t run into your obstacle.

We just want to do some honest business, although buying things with money is something no dragon would do, White Dragons can sell their efforts!

Pulling carts and boats are no problem~

I asked Laila, but she said I must get your consent, she can’t make the decision.”

Hill’s eyes looked towards that Otherworldly Whale, Elvia Tulais shrewdly flapped her wings, casually pacing a few steps: ”This guy is someone we rescued, the wounds on him were from before he escaped, we haven’t been rough with him.”

Except for the first sentence, the rest were all truthful... Not being rough doesn’t mean not making a move, Hill secretly pondered, signaling Purwell to go directly over to see the unlucky kindred.

Unexpectedly, Purwell didn’t fly directly over but used the soul mode to fly out of the whale, landing directly on the head of another Otherworldly Whale.

”I am Purwell, what’s your name? What happened? Are you okay now?” The small light orb appeared outside the whale for the first time since being deceived and harmed by the Santalin Meeting, Purwell never wanted to leave his body’s range, even knowing that in the current soul mode, even if injured, he could be reassembled from the core center, he still did not want to take any risk.

But this time he felt he had to do this.

Although flying Hill to those two dragons might not be a big deal, Purwell felt this was his responsibility, and Hill shouldn’t take such a risk for him.

After all, he wouldn’t die a second time, right?

Hill quickly understood Purwell’s mind, smiled slightly, and calmly accepted his whale friend’s kindness... It’s best not to solely contribute among friends, otherwise, the friendship might get tainted.

Accepting a friend’s kindness is also a sign of respecting the friendship between them.

It’s just... Purwell thought too simply, but with his usual straightforwardness, this was already very cautious.

”I am... Kratos.” The weak whale replied with a slow tone, ”I know you... They said the unlucky ones caught before me... were abandoned on the battlefield... I thought you were dead... they said no one could save you, not even a deity...

But... you now... don’t look... alive...

But you don’t look dead either... What are you?”

Purwell helplessly floated up and down a few times, being scatter-brained almost seemed to be a nature of the Otherworldly Whales.

”I am now between life and death, not undead, after being rescued by my friend, Lord of Agleya, Hill, was turned into a Ship Spirit through alchemy because my body could no longer be salvaged.

My body now is all metal-modified.” Purwell knew he had to make this point clear first.

Any creature wouldn’t easily believe their undead kin, they can no longer have the same interests, all needs are opposite, the most important thing is, necromancy has no beautiful emotions, kinship, and the like are all deceitful nonsense.

With no place of trust in terms of interest or emotion, it’s basically unlikely that anyone would believe him, a skeleton frame whispering sweet words would leave no feelings.

Kratos soon began to cry to Purwell... focusing on how unlucky and painful he was... and how he managed to escape while those incapable of using magic and could only command skeletons undead mages were busy... It was said that the giant undead controlling him broke free from its necromancer and wreaked havoc... They happened to be staying at World’s Ridge because they intended to attack the Magic Tower in Luskan.

Unexpectedly, just after flying up to the clouds, they were pinned down by a shameless old White Dragon... Who knows how many days it had been peeking, maybe those skeletons rebels were all its doing...

Hill felt that Arausato standing aside couldn’t help but twitch his snake-like face, it seemed he caught it... but having support, Kratos no longer cared about the thoughts of those two White Dragons... he was indeed too unlucky... there are only so many methods of escape for an Otherworldly Whale, all being restricted by Toril’s spatial confinement.

Hill observed the status of the two White Dragons, although anxious, they were not in a state of being unable to bear it, especially Elvia Tulais, with eyes full of intent, yet a look of waiting for Hill to seek her.

It seemed they were also waiting for this whale to disclose something to attract Hill’s attention.

But Hill actually had a bit of an understanding about what these two dragons depended on... They definitely discovered the undead mages digging tunnels, so waited for Kratos to point out these people’s purpose, to face Hill with a slightly higher stance.

They don’t exactly want to cooperate, but they’re somewhat reluctant to hand over all the leadership to Hill... so their attitude is a bit strange.

But at least they genuinely want to cooperate... just a bit too much.

Hill expressionlessly instructed Purwell to stop the ship above Kratos, as he needed to see if this whale could still be saved... The reason why Kratos, despite so many wounds, didn’t seem to be in much pain was, of course, because the toxins in these wounds carried a numbing effect. He couldn’t see it himself, so he didn’t take it seriously.

Most of Kratos’s body was actually covered with corroding wounds, and Hill needed to consider how to treat them.

As for the peculiarity of the World’s Ridge, he had long ceased to care.

When Hill last passed the World’s Ridge, he had already noticed the abnormalities of this towering mountain range... it was not a natural product, but a creation of deities... although the earth would sometimes slightly respond to Hill’s will, it mostly remained silent.

Every particle of earth has its owner... so as long as that owner doesn’t want Hill or anyone else to sense this mountain range, he would discover nothing.

Therefore, the reason those discarded half-finished half-orcs could proliferate on the World’s Ridge... isn’t it obvious what’s going on?

So no matter how many of the half-orcs living on the World’s Ridge those naturally commanding half-orcs consume, Gewoosh doesn’t care, and would even reward them.

Just like now, although those necromancers had already started digging, Hill would not receive any news until they unearth something from the mountain range.

All he could do was notify the Undead Tribe to intercept midway, as the digging speed was different on both sides.

But it’s just a bit troublesome, not impossible, so Hill paid no attention to the modesty shown by the two white dragons.

Since they weren’t speaking, he might as well attend to the important matters first!

The marks of dark magic and necromancy on Kratos were clearly from a long time ago, probably after the world was restructured, and no one had hurt him since, which was why he had the strength to escape... but because both were corrosive, there were no signs of healing.

Hill took out a small shell and quickly poured it from Kratos’s head to his tail, causing the otherworldly whale, who was complaining to Purwell, to let out a huge cry of pain. The entire body convulsed, swayed left and right, and finally flipped over, revealing its white belly.

Hill took the opportunity to pour over this side of the abdomen again.

The screams intensified: ”Pain! Pain! Pain! Ah~~~~”

The miserable cries quickly escalated to the level of a whale song. Purwell drifted stiffly over, as if he had heard the reason he wanted to know.

”Purwell?” Hill gently inquired of his stunned friend.

”He rushed over to save me after hearing my cries of pain... that’s why he was caught...” The little whale lamented with a crying voice, a stream of tangible water mist appeared in the Light Ord, ”When my entire body was first corroded, I couldn’t endure it, cried out too miserably... they recorded it with Strange Objects...

It’s all my fault...”

Hill didn’t know how to comfort him; at this moment, saying anything like how those necromancers were too vicious, and you just made a mistake... good people shouldn’t blame themselves for the evil deeds of bad people, was actually meaningless.

If only I had been more careful... if only I had been more cautious... this is the resentment that will inevitably arise in the heart of someone who still has kindness when encountering such things... self-blame.

At such times, Hill could only silently accompany him.

However, Elvia Tulais, who had been listening intently, grew impatient. A lawful evil white dragon wouldn’t listen to such words that bleeding hearts would say. She bluntly asked: ”Where is that Strange Object? If it’s still in their hands, make sure to find and destroy it early on, otherwise you will have fellow tribesmen who get fooled again... truly foolish, upon hearing the cries of the kin, either run or seek aid... why would fools rush in themselves?”

Hill fell silent, how should he respond...

However, Purwell didn’t feel at all that the white dragon was scolding them, and quickly flew to the still-rolling Kulaste to ask the question.

That whale, clearly still wailing, immediately opened its big mouth after hearing the question, spitting out a crystal ball, grinning broadly... Hill took the opportunity to pour a large amount of Holy Water into its body.

Kratos could no longer smile, rolling continuously on the ground, stirring up a large flurry of snow.

Though this whale was severely wounded, fortunately, there was hope... if he wasn’t wailing, that would truly be the end, indicating his nerves were completely gone, and the fate would be just another Purwell.
