Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 932: Chapter 728: William’s Request

Hill quietly gazed at the endless mountains, unable to suppress a sigh.

In this regard, he indeed wasn’t as sensitive as William. How did His Majesty manage to deduce that the enemy’s identity wasn’t simple from this mess of intelligence?

Hill only felt they were like a group of desperate stray dogs fighting for some special materials. He couldn’t figure out what was so special about it… Or perhaps there was something extraordinary about the minerals here that he was unaware of?

But the deities seemed to know… yet William didn’t understand a damn about materials!

Hill watched as the Undead Mages flew back and forth on one side of the mountains, cursing loudly in the sky. He couldn’t help but twitch his mouth. The scene looked rather spectacular, like a flock of crows clamoring towards the sunrise, but in reality, these guys seemed more like they were covering the Undead Tribe below.

They seemed to think that the snow-covered mountains were unsuitable for using Flame Spells, so they didn’t use any common spells like Meteor Fire Rain… all their spells were of the Wind Series, occasionally accompanied by some snow… Wind blowing combined with a Blizzard?

What are they playing at…

Moreover, that Blizzard causing a seeming cataclysm on the World’s Ridge wasn’t as powerful as it appeared on the outside. They couldn’t even aim properly… they were just flinging spells randomly.

It took Hill some careful observation to understand why the Undead Tribe was acting this way… Their mana consumption on the World’s Ridge was actually three times the normal amount.

So while they appeared to be flying aimlessly, they actually didn’t dare to leave their family commanders for too long. Someone had to keep shouting commands: it would be too difficult for those hotheads to remember when to drink a mana potion on their own.

Even with repeated orders, many family Mage commanders blew whistles frantically, but it couldn’t prevent those who were so overly excited they lost all their hearing, causing them to crash directly to the ground. They basically couldn’t be saved, as they couldn’t squeeze out even a single drop of mana… The falling Undead Tribe was met with cheers from the half-orcs on the mountain top, who might have thought their own people were still bravely resisting… There indeed were some surviving half-orcs, but they were the ones with some intelligence, knowing to hide in some crack or crevice.

The Undead Tribe didn’t shatter the delusions of those on the mountains… they probably preferred to act as if they had been killed by the enemy rather than letting outsiders know it was all due to their own stupidity.

William seemed to have strictly forbidden them from reaching the mountaintops above the clouds, so even when faced with virtually endless half-orcs up there, the Undead Tribe didn’t charge forward.

However, Hill found it unlikely that the Undead Tribe would be so obedient?

Going above the clouds would certainly inflict more damage on them, and perhaps they’d disintegrate upon arrival… Hill suspected some of the Undead Tribe members had already tried.

Hill hadn’t been paying much attention to the battles during this period, but he absolutely didn’t believe the Undead would obediently wage a defensive war… Someone was bound to stand out boldly and head towards death.

Hill noticed that the Undead Tribe was ready to retreat, likely because the cooldown time for the mana potions couldn’t withstand their consumption anymore.

A flesh-and-blood person like Hill could only take these strength and mana-restoring potions every few hours, but the Undead could come back for another bottle every few minutes, at most ten.

Moreover, during such a grand battle, the number of potion bottles in the hands of the Undead was by no means few.

If even such potion consumption couldn’t help… the World’s Ridge might increasingly consume Elemental Power over time.

Hill looked on for a while. Although many of the Undead Tribe had fallen, many more had secretly flown up, so it seemed there wasn’t much damage… but if so many flying couldn’t conceal the small discrepancy in numbers Hill sensed, it actually suggested that nearly half had chosen to retreat automatically.

However, the ones who persisted for quite a while had already gulped down more than five bottles of super mana potions within this brief time… and one bottle could basically refill half the mana bar of Level 15 and above magic-based professions.

For the first time, Hill realized how detrimental the World’s Ridge was to pure Elemental Bodies… no wonder no Specter Dragon chose to reside on this mountain range…

They simply couldn’t afford such strong blue bottles.

Hill recalled his own feeling standing atop that mountain… his mana indeed faced a slight depletion… but such a minimal loss was insignificant to him, so he felt nothing during several visits: no matter how peculiar the World’s Ridge was, it was still set on the ground.

No matter how much it consumed, the Earth could only supply him with more.

“Sir,” Li Si appeared before him, “those Necromancers have been cornered in the underground tunnels… His Majesty William recommends you transform those stones near the tunnel a bit.

The Undead Tribe’s Mud into Stone is not very sturdy… even though many people cast the spell together, His Majesty William thinks there might still be considerable cracks… enough for a bone rack to squeeze through.

If possible, His Majesty William hopes you can add some spirit restraining materials within the stone layers… he doesn’t know what’s effective, but sir, you surely do.

Once he clarifies some things, he will inform you why those few Necromancers are so important… The only thing he can tell you is that His Majesty William suspects the Sel’s Red-robed Mage Guild’s Necromancy Sect might intend to bring this remnant group of Santarin back.

Their Great Liche seems to want to learn some godhood knowledge from Bane.

The Shadow Weave is indeed difficult to use right now… but it barely harms the Necromancy Sect, many of their spells can still be used.

According to the Red Robe Mage Guild’s longstanding tradition, the Necromancy Sect is destined to become the ruler of Sel in the future.

As for Bane’s usual character, as long as the head of the Necromancy Sect, Sazzastan, is willing to allow Bane to become Sel’s sole belief, he dares to teach anything.

Although Teraxil doesn’t care what Toril becomes, there are some things that still need to be prevented; he doesn’t want to receive more cross-world migrants.

Hill lowered his head, trying hard to suppress his smile.

The implication of William’s words was too obvious.

Can’t tell how Coron would feel hearing these words… but anything coming out of Teraxil, the first reaction from them would probably be that the elves better not come again…

For those who are battle-hardened and daring, dwarves, like invaders causing massive harm to the whole world, though they bring a lot of trouble, no one fears them.

No matter how strong the enemy is, it’s just a life-and-death battle. What can’t be done today can always be done in the future.

On the contrary, elves are really quite bothersome.

To fight with all your might… it hasn’t reached that point, not to fight… has indeed disgusted the native people of Teraxil for tens of thousands of years.

Hill composed himself before flying directly to the northeast corner.

Not knowing why William wants to confine them to one place… he obviously knows Hill has the ability to separate and detain them… but William didn’t say a word.

Hill was sensing the movements underground… the Undead Tribe seemed to have inserted some small tablets serving as surveillance cameras… about a dozen of them.

Hill thoughtfully walked slowly along the ground, the powder of Brilliant White Crystal in his palm scattered along the edges of the tunnel and quickly integrated into the stone layer slowly forming into Greensteel Rock underground.

Even though necromancy spells can be used now, the passages in the Weave should be very narrow… at least for mages who are not highly perceptive of the Weave, it’s hard for them to figure out how much mana is required for normal spell casting.

This tiny bit of Brilliant White Crystal powder is enough to make most of their spells fail, especially those summoning ghost-type spells, they definitely won’t work.

Hill silently walked around that section of the tunnel three times, then looked back at the mountain in the distance: what are those two White Dragons sneaking around doing?

They don’t seem to be observing him?

Could it be that this male and female pair are targeting the Undead Tribe?

Hill blinked and couldn’t help but chuckle a few times: really daring to confront the Undead Tribe, this pair of dragons known as the “White Queen” and “White Death,” who knows if they will turn into the ‘Snow Wind’?

He slowly flew back onto Purwell’s back, trying hard to attract external attention.

Hill simply doesn’t believe that William’s purpose in sending him out was just to reinforce the prison; there are quite a few strange objects in the hands of the Undead Tribe capable of harming the Evil Faction.

The deities of Teraxil, in order to fight demons… after all, in this world, the only trouble is that hell’s gate that cannot be closed… have indeed created many sacred items.

They are actually preparing for the departure of the Undead Tribe, putting in great effort into training their Temple Knights and Priests.

Even Agleya, Hill heard her mumbling about how to enable these priests to use their divine power to produce low-level holy water… the majority of Teraxil’s deities have simple requirements for these clerics: fight evil, maintain a good heart, respect the faith of ordinary people.

The most important is to fight evil… even if not so devout to the deities, as long as the right things are done, the deities won’t mind.

Therefore, Teraxil’s clerics have really just become a profession…

And these ever-increasing clerics have manufactured a large number of sacred relics, with demons still lacking the ability to step out of the Abyssal Gate, so essentially all were acquired by the Undead Tribe.

Indeed, the deities of Teraxil have great economic strategies: these sacred relics, with a split of 2:8 between clerics and the temple… after all, the materials are all provided by the temple.

It doesn’t seem like much, but the higher the rank of the cleric, the more they earn… many ordinary families’ children with mage aptitude have therefore given up pursuing the path of a mage, embarking on the very ‘forward’-looking road of being a cleric.

When Hill first heard Agleya talk about these things, he felt a mix of amusement and frustration: although Agleya was very happy, Adrian probably felt quite troubled.

So when he heard William’s request, he knew that guy’s purpose was to have him take a stroll outside.
