Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 924: Chapter 720: What Is Your Primary Element, Really?

Elvia Tulais, although eager to continue on the path of magic, also had to consider future feelings... She felt that she definitely couldn’t endure like she did in her youth.

Her former master Melsrode... was actually quite good... except that he got a bit naggy as he aged, always hoping she’d turn out to be a good child in the end... Elvia Tulais felt she was quite alright, as a White Dragon being able to endure so many years of babbling, but expecting her to shift from lawful evil to lawful neutral, she thought Melsrode must be a bit senile.

Laila’s temperament was the only one, among all her encounters over the years, that made Elvia Tulais feel even after living together for thousands or tens of thousands of years, it wouldn’t be a fate worse than death.

Arausato thought too much... even if he was the most handsome host, she wouldn’t choose him... How to put it... she still preferred herself in dragon form...

No matter how good-looking, if the size doesn’t match, it’s meaningless.

This time, the Dragon Madness warning struck her deeply... If it weren’t for the humans timely ending that upheaval, Elvia Tulais suspected she might have gone mad too, as the Defensive Magic Array left by Melsrode was nearly at its limit in the later stages... If Arausato and she were both seriously injured, what hope would there be?

So even though she reached a minor consensus with the Dragon Worship Church, Elvia Tulais wasn’t too eager to become a Dragon Lich, she always felt there was some pitfall to avoid.

But if truly no better solution could be found... a skeleton structure was better than death, wasn’t it?

After communicating with Arausato for a few years, they grudgingly reached a consensus to first probe whether Laila was willing to accept her.

As soon as she was somewhat tempted, Laila sent a message: she was about to become the Municipal Officer of Luskan, telling Elvia Tulais not to raid Luskan anymore, especially notifying Arausato... while she controlled Luskan’s municipal power, the Teraxil Elves weren’t under her jurisdiction, and raiding again wouldn’t just end in injury.

Luskan happened to be the city closest to Elvia Tulais and Arausato... it impacted them greatly!

It was originally a place for them to idle... or rather, to shop for free. Many cows and sheep raised outside Luskan were actually tributes from pirates to Arausato and Elvia Tulais.

Only the mages of the Arcane Brotherhood were their enemies... because of Arausato and the robbery by other two Ancient Dragons, some young White Dragons in the World’s Ridge suffered, but what does that have to do with her? Eating is still a necessity.

However, Elvia Tulais, being smart, certainly understood the deeper meaning in Laila’s message: the strength of the Teraxil Elves was indisputable, not to mention the Lord of Agleya who could easily slaughter dragons.

Elvia Tulais didn’t at all think that combining forces with Arausato they could defeat that lord... even if they used Dragon Spell Magic, it was impossible; their skills with water and ice could never win against a father of a Sea God!

Damn Claujeliatmata was asked countless times how she was caught... but she didn’t even know how she got knocked out cold, only remembering the prison that lord put her in, whose door was fully clad in mithril!

That foolish Green Dragon would not stop harping about such trivial matters... it infuriated the other Giant Dragons!

They wanted to know the fighting methods of the Lord of Agleya, not how rich he was!

The key is, no one could ever steal it!

No dragon wanted to see a fortune that would forever belong to someone else, better to know nothing at all.

Elvia Tulais knew it was time for her to make a choice: she certainly didn’t care whether those White Dragon whelps were full... she guaranteed merely not letting her own eggs hatchlings starve!

But where the Teraxil Elves were, there were definitely no pirates! They patrolled the sea constantly... whom could she raid?

She did not want to give up a life of one cow a day!

Elvia Tulais immediately thought of the Mercury Dragon serving as the figurehead statue for the Teraxil Elves... don’t assume nothing is known about why he took this job!

Countless Metal Dragons and Gem Dragons have questioned that big-headed character... what of the dignity of Giant Dragons?

The Chromatic Dragons were also quite concerned during that time... although it was the persecution by Ancient Green Dragons that drove the young Mercury Dragon to seek protection from the Lord of Agleya, staying in the territory as a mascot compared to going out to sea as a figurehead statue made a significant difference!

Conflicts among Giant Dragons were fine... but when it came to external matters, most could maintain consistency.

Yet all criticisms melted away before 5000 Gold Coins... if it weren’t for the Lord of Agleya demanding both faction and order... many dragons would certainly volunteer themselves.

Elvia Tulais naturally didn’t care if those White Dragons were fed... but she felt if she introduced these dragons to work in Luskan... wouldn’t every dragon entering there need to pay her an introduction fee?

Then she doesn’t have to do anything, and can eat and drink every day! She doesn’t even need to exert that little bit of effort for robbery!

But this lord... is somewhat difficult to deal with!

She thought that the glory of commanding a giant dragon to work would make the Lord of Agleya temporarily abandon those principles!

What to do!

With her smooth forehead tightly furrowed, Elvia Tulais snorted coldly, turned her body, and slammed her dragon tail heavily onto the snow, then lay down with her backside facing this side.

”She’s intending for me to speak.” Arausato very adeptly took over the conversation, ”That group of necromancers has opened an underground passage two kilometers west of here in a mountain hollow, reportedly leading to the mine in Luskan.

They have a map of the underground passage of the mine... seeming to lead directly above the mine, but I feel they are more likely to want to steal from the mine rather than launch an attack on Luskan’s municipal office... even though they told the half-orcs that.

But I think, even if they’ve turned into skeletons, they still have a bit of brains... Probably just want to trick the half-orcs into helping them draw attention, anyway, that bunch of fools won’t care who’s below when they start fighting.

The biggest possibility is still to grab some mineral and run, but that’s your money!

Speaking of which, Lord of Agleya, what is that mine? The skeletons spoke so cryptically, always using code words, but it seems to help them control those undead... Heh heh... In just over a month, almost all the large undead there are about to defect... before leaving, they all left a big trouble for them.”

”It’s a mixed mine of hyacinth and cyan ice.” Hill answered straightforwardly, although these two ores are quite precious, they don’t mean much to dragons... no... no meaning when facing a strong enemy, ”However, it has already been consumed a lot, now it can only be left to recuperate for a while, so it has been completely sealed.”

Elvia Tulais turned back vigilantly, ”Completely... what does that mean?”

”Of course every corner is directly sealed off with rocks dozens of meters thick, wanting to excavate in... unless they summon Gulanba.” Hill answered indifferently.

Then he was stunned to find that the white dragon actually got happy... Is failing the plan somehow harder for her than having no plan at all?

Hill felt quite sad... he couldn’t even understand the mother dragon.

Arausato suddenly stretched out his neck to look at Hill carefully, ”What is your main element anyway? I somehow feel it’s not water... I wouldn’t doubt my perception of water... but it’s not purely natural either... You’re heavier... Those bothersome beings of the Nature System are all so light, seeing them makes you want to blow them far away in a single breath.”

Hill initially couldn’t react... It took him a long time to remember that the period when the Elf Druids’ Circle of Nature was at its most prosperous should be the prime of this white dragon.

White dragons, when they are young and without backing, really suffer beatings, it’s a painful time of constant running.

Although he didn’t know if Arausato had followed a certain mage during that time, Hill thought he certainly must have, otherwise Arausato wouldn’t have so many magic books, and also know well how to discern which magic books suit him... But because this dragon has lived too long, all those histories have already faded in the wind.

And Elvia Tulais’s previous master, Mage Lord Melsrode, was relatively famous, but pity, he was purely human, didn’t break through the limits of life... eventually died of old age, all properties including that icy floating island residence, naturally fell to the white dragon.

Although Elvia Tulais always considers herself as the heir of that mage... But he indeed rang a warning bell for many mages of the short-lived race, to take in a riding mount and pet of the eternal race, means too much...

Otherwise Hill wouldn’t have been surprised that Elvia Tulais was really interested in Laila... Does she think if she wishes to leave, Laila will be willing to lift the contract?

There’s also some possibility... Hill thinks if one day, Purwell wants to be a free magic ship, he’d also be willing to release the otherworldly whale.

At most, he would trouble himself a bit, replace that half-plane’s space, Hill isn’t lacking materials.

Hill thinks he can understand, no matter who becomes strong, they might pursue self-identity and freedom... But here on Toril, people seem to have a hard time achieving that... They possess too little, so they treasure everything they own.

What kind of communication gave this white dragon confidence in Laila?

Pondering over Elvia Tulais’s reason for choosing Laila, Hill slowly answered the ancient white dragon: ”Me? My main attribute is nature~”

”Bah~” Elvia Tulais snorted disdainfully, ”Water, wind, earth, which isn’t nature?”

Hill couldn’t help but laugh, originally this was nonsense! How could he possibly tell others the characteristic attributes of himself?
