Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 905: Chapter 701: Fran, You Have a Terrifying Grandson

The black dragon’s eyes were bewildered... having grown up in Aber, he wasn’t even familiar with Bahamut and the metal dragons.

But that’s Bahamut!

Is Aber a paradise for evil dragons? They’re being raised like naive sweethearts!

Fran whispered, ”Are they their racial enemies? It seems Aber doesn’t have them, the strongest ones are the giant dragons... some of the Primordials can deal with them, but there are few, and most prefer seclusion.”

”The Kind Alignment seldom appears in Aber, especially those with faith,” Hill replied with a smile. ”Bahamut is the leader of the metal dragons and also their dragon god, just like the Chromatic Dragon Queen is the racial god of the chromatic dragons.”

However, the deities of this universe have never appeared in Aber, nor do they accept Aber’s followers, so these giant dragons might have forgotten their enemies from tens of thousands of years ago, right?

I wonder if they still remember Tiamat.”

Hill then explained the difference between metal dragons and gem dragons and chromatic dragons to Fran... As he spoke, he noticed the two black dragons were listening and silently matching what was said with some strange dragon scale books.

Their inherited memories?

Seeing the two dragons cramming at the last minute made Hill almost speechless, had they just ignored it because they hadn’t used it for so long?

Exactly how lazy were these giant dragons? Such important racial memories, and they’re too lazy to remember, needing to flip through books instead.

Hill always believed the hatred between the two kinds of giant dragons could never be resolved... but it seems it’s not true, as long as they don’t see each other, it’s a story that can be forgotten...

Yet, it seems they still know who Tiamat is... though what the two dragons said was: the pathetic queen who abandoned her people and fled to other worlds.

It seems these ancient dragons, who have been in charge for many years, are trying to reduce Tiamat’s influence so that no dragon would wish to offer her faith anymore.

Anyway, it won’t matter how angry Tiamat gets as long as she doesn’t dare to go to Aber; she’ll just be futilely raging in Hell. Aber rejects all plane magic, only basic elemental magic and some mind magic can be used, divine arts can’t, and this Dragon Queen has always been cautious, not taking risks for useless faith.

”Don’t take these two as the average level of Aber dragons,” Fran patted Hill’s shoulder, ”Aside from having many dragonborn, the rest are... well... I remember last time when their adult clan members came to save them, they scolded them, saying they were just slightly better than newly mature white dragons; even ancient white dragons have more brains and capability than them.”

Hill smiled at Fran, it seemed Fran was already familiar with the level distinction of chromatic dragons... only the white dragon was at the very bottom.

The two black dragons didn’t mind Fran’s words at all, just pointing and comparing with those books, finally making a decision together: ”Forget it... can’t beat them, going out would be a waste of time.”

A slightly larger-looking black dragon rubbed its front claws: ”Oh lord from Toril, do you have anything good to trade with us?

Hehe~ although my brother and I aren’t good at fighting, we’re quite good at business~

Look, you can’t just come to the Lalakond Continent for nothing, right? Can’t go to Aber, but Lalakond has its specialties too!

You’re a child of the Fran family, surely you have storage tools~ come on~ let’s have a friendly commercial exchange~ we promise not to rip you off~”

Is it a promise to definitely rip him off? Such a slick merchant tone... only the gnomes from Toril would use it.

Hill blinked at these two dragons, a bit puzzled how the usually cold and domineering, solitude-loving black dragons could raise such an odd pair of brothers.

No wonder there’s a saying in Toril, if the black dragons are united as brothers, there will definitely be a freak born.

”I’m just traveling around! I do have a lot of gold,” Hill thought for a moment before saying, ”Besides, Toril’s artworks might not be popular in Aber, right?”

”As long as there’s gold, that’s enough! Of course, artworks made of gold, silver, jewelry, and jade would be the best,” said one black dragon with a sigh, ”Aber has plenty of gemstones, do you want to buy some? I remember the elders saying that merchants who could come to Aber from Toril were all buying large amounts of gemstones to take back.

However, they don’t usually come to Lalakond, they go to Sel, where the Primordial lords look more like humans... Tsk, how can you refuse to do business just because they don’t look human.”

Hill’s mouth twitched slightly... is that really why those merchants do it? As long as they can make money, merchants would trade with demons!

But with chromatic dragons... especially a group of chromatic dragons... no one would dare go to deliver a greeting gift.

As if when someone visits, you wouldn’t rob them!

However, Hill could tell this was quite a powerful Black Dragon Clan, as the title Elder for giant dragons wasn’t something one could earn just by being old.

Fran, standing to the side, suddenly spoke up: ”I’ll give you 10 minutes, bring as many gemstones as you can find. We have to go.”

The black dragon patted his wings: ”Hey~ as responsible merchants, of course, we carry good things with us! Come on~ lord of Toril, see how many things you want~ better give me some of Toril’s valuable specialty products! Otherwise, how can I brag when I return to the swamp!”

Hill looked at the items the Black Dragon took out, and indeed, they were offered with sincerity. He smiled and said, ”Let’s tally up the total value... Then I’ll bring out treasures of similar value for you to choose from. If it’s not enough, we’ll have to settle the difference with Gold Coins. Before leaving, I stored a lot of items in the warehouse, so there really isn’t much that I can produce...”

The rest are things that cannot be brought out... Fran did point out that these two Black Dragons could call their elders... Although Hill isn’t very afraid of these Black Dragons, if there are too many of them, he would find it a bit troublesome.

Moreover, Hill has always been indifferent to a hero’s penchant for creating trouble just to solve it.

He doesn’t lack money; he merely wishes to see what functions the gems of this world have. If it becomes troublesome, he could always ask Fran for help... In this case, elders are the best support.

The smaller Black Dragon suddenly approached Fran: ”Are you worried that guy will summon the minions of Kalximi? Don’t worry, the moment Golun’s Claw severed ties with Lalakond and Aber, they locked those guys up.

The Sel Continent didn’t come with us, and their hands are stained with dragon blood!

If there wasn’t the worry of a return one day, they would have been killed long ago!

Unfortunately, we also have no idea what the future holds!”

Fran replied speechlessly, ”What you’re saying... as if those Ancient Dragons of Golun’s Claw won’t trouble us at all!”

The Black Dragon weirdly shrugged its shoulders, ”Fran... considering we’ve angered you several times and yet you haven’t really dealt with us, I’ll tell you a truth!

Your grandson is much more intimidating than you...

You think we haven’t tried to leave? You probably aren’t aware of the powerful Strange Objects fashioned from the corpses of Primordials by the Giant Dragons!

Although those armors might not have the same level of defense as Mithril, they’re certainly not much worse.

Yet, wearing those armors, an Ancient Red Dragon couldn’t even walk 20 meters in the gray mist before suffering serious injuries and rushing back! Almost dying in there.

Even if it was entirely clad in Mithril, that whale wouldn’t have swum so easily. It must have some special ability!”

Fran’s expression unchanged, he watched Hill bargaining with another Black Dragon, while internally pondering what allowed Hill to pass through the gray mist: Earth Bear’s specialty, which seemed unrelated to space?

Could it be William owed Hill and gave him some good Space Series item as partial payment?

Fran couldn’t figure it out; he thought it more likely that Hill’s luck remained unchanged after reaching Toril. After all, his grandson, in a sense, would be welcomed by Natural Consciousness in any world.

The Cosmic World Tree is, after all, the source of the Force of Nature, the ancestor of all plants.

This was what he heard from the Star Spirit who dragged him into the Storm, revealing quite a lot to compensate for Fran being involved.

Moreover, Fran touched his own Divine Artifact, the Sphere of All Spells... He finally understood why Star Spirits could produce so many Divine Artifacts. They only needed to touch something, and they could instantly perceive its creation and usage methods, and even directly replicate it, improving it, for there’s nothing in the universe they couldn’t create materials for.

Before the Creator Gods of various universes even forged worlds, they were also once Star Spirits.

His Sphere of All Spells, that Star Spirit was very interested in... not only replicating it themselves but also upgrading the materials of Fran’s to the topmost level.

Fran breathed out a sigh... Such entities are too incredible! The materials of the Sphere of All Spells, after being Refined, cannot be separated, with many functions resulting from materials interacting and repelling each other, yet a few touches by a Star Spirit could elevate the finish product.

Fran felt that even though he appeared all-powerful in Aber, he wouldn’t display arrogance, having first seen the highest existences in the universe.

Who could feel powerful after witnessing a Star Spirit!

Fran now finally understood why the Bottomless Abyss is so terrifying! That Demon Prince could actually battle a Star Spirit, even potentially slaying one!

Even though the Star Spirit he encountered, upon hearing about it, referred to that Star Spirit as a Newborn, what difference does that make?

They are entities he cannot reach.

However... that’s of no concern, after coming to Aber, Fran finally sensed his own youthful vitality, with endless time to improve himself, though setting an overly ambitious goal, it is certainly better than finding no path at all.

Now Fran instead doesn’t feel as tense as before, perhaps because the future is too distant, providing more time to enjoy the scenery along the road.

Fran looked at Hill with a smile as he returned satisfied, ”The transaction is finished, shall we go?”

This was Fran’s second time urging him, so Hill simply took him and flew directly to Purwell.
