Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 923: Chapter 719: Elvia Tulais’s Dream

If Kratos really can only become another ship spirit... although this wouldn’t be a bad thing for Hill, Purwell would probably feel so ashamed he couldn’t face himself.

Hill still hopes everyone can be happy... moreover, he alone doesn’t really need two whale ships.

He’s not the kind of person who believes the more, the better in everything.

Hill summoned the crystal ball over and studied it carefully: such strange objects in Toril that can absorb sound and repeatedly release it are all natural, formed by chance and coincidence, and are very rare.

This crystal is no exception, no, it should be called Splendid Crystal, which is the superior quality portion sedimented at the bottom of ordinary crystal veins, primarily used to preserve mental power. It can only form this sound-preservation effect if coincidentally next to Mourning Amethyst, a holy mineral severely damaging to undead creatures. Such a mineral is pitifully rare and is usually used to make holy emblems for high priests.

Hill looked speechlessly at this crystal ball... why would Bane’s followers have something related to Mourning Amethyst? Do they even have a habit of removing threats?

That thing cannot be destroyed... unless they ask Bane to intervene.

Hill doesn’t think the Tyrant Monarch would appreciate their actions... so it’s to trap their colleagues, right?

”Hill?” Purwell timidly asked, ”Can you dispose of it?”

”No problem. I was thinking about something else.” Hill directly drove the mana to completely dissipate the sound in the crystal ball, ”They don’t have much of this stuff in their hands, and they certainly couldn’t have used it all to record your sound, don’t worry!”

The Church of the True God doesn’t have much either, almost being hated by the world, Bane’s followers absolutely cannot have more.

How to say this? AO repeatedly uses Bane and Baal, these two former Grim Reapers, to work, never fearing they would be resurrected and cause any big trouble he couldn’t handle, precisely because the World Will has an extreme aversion to them, these two and their subordinates can be said to have the worst luck.

Others encounter dangers that turn out well, they encounter blessings that turn into trouble.

Purwell immediately got happy and flew off to cheer for his kin.

As the whale’s wailing grew fainter, Hill knew the corrosive toxin on his body had been mostly cleaned, but he still cautiously drizzled another round of holy water.

Elvia Tulais made a sound like a toothache on the side: seeing others burn money is also hard for a giant dragon... why isn’t that money mine...

Hill shook his head helplessly, waving his hand to summon a large mass of restorative ice mist... Kratos had quite a bit of flesh washed off, if he used fast recovery, he’d either be in intense pain or unbearable itch, the slight freezing sensation is more suitable.

Then from the corner of his eye, he saw Arausato slowly inching his previously injured wing into the ice mist... quite in line with these dragons’ nature of not letting anything go to waste.

”Honorable Lord of Agleya.” Lady Elvia Tulais timely opened her mouth to draw Hill’s attention, it seems these two, male and female, are determined to take advantage, ”You see... if I wish to establish some connection with Luskan, would you agree?

My subordinate white dragon is quite capable... although it eats a lot, you can even afford that famously annoying mercury dragon! I heard they even had a lot of salary!

The white dragon doesn’t eat nearly as well as that fellow, feeding the little beasts with carrion even suffices, the white dragon only needs to be full!”

Hill remained silent for a moment before saying, ”You can trade, but the trading place can’t be set in Luskan, I can’t allow any dragons from evil factions into my territory.

As for whether you can reach an agreement with the Teraxil elves... their contract is very harsh on evil factions, Tasding can understand... can you?

If you saw a cow on the roadside, with no one around, do you think your white dragon could resist the urge to grab it and eat it?

Tasding can endure without hunting as long as he’s provided food, no matter how delicious that cow looks...”

”But Agleya’s port allows evil factions to pass through...” Elvia Tulais asked unhappily, ”What’s possible over there, why isn’t it allowed in Laila’s managed city?

Are you biased towards the Elven Bloodline? The Silverhand Family and Laila’s two little ones aren’t pure humans either! They all have some Elf Blood running through their veins!”

This guy completely avoids whether the white dragon can endure...

”Lady Elvia Tulais, don’t shift the concept... if dragons recognized every bloodline, they’d still be the most numerous race in all of Toril.” Hill replied calmly, ”Agleya allows evil factions to enter only on the main road... it was the contribution of Toril’s ancestors for the whole world, and among those ancestors, many were also of the evil faction.

I won’t deny the contributions of others because of different factions, but it’s only that road and a few shops on the edge.

The real Agleya City also doesn’t allow entry to the evil faction.

Moreover, the most important point is... for the Teraxil Elves, the White Dragon is a highly prized prey... I believe you should also be aware of the Elven traditions, even the Elven Pantheon cannot suppress the nature of their people.

Endurance is just temporary... unless the White Dragon can restrain its nature in front of them.

After all, I cannot issue an order to stop the Teraxil Elves from upholding justice and eliminating evil; I hope you understand what I mean.”

”Even if I’m an ally?” Lady Elvia Tulais asked with a displeased tone.

”A trade partner cannot be considered an ally.” Hill couldn’t help but laugh.

But perhaps for the Giant Dragon, the act of paying essentially surpasses forming an alliance? Lady Elvia Tulais seemed completely unable to comprehend Hill’s refusal.

She paced back and forth with her wings spread, looking anxious... And yet, Kratos, whom they pinned their hopes on, was humming comfortably in the icy fog, completely forgetting to inform Purwell of the impeding crisis.

Even as the small Light Orb flitted back and forth by his head, the Otherworldly Whale could only think of whimpering playfully.

Hill felt a bit anxious for these two dragons... although Kratos and Purwell seemed to have similar personalities, Hill even wondered whether he knew about the Necromancer’s plot against Luskan.

The Whale probably had an escape plan in mind and wouldn’t even register unrelated matters... Otherwise, he’d surely have shouted it out by now, as the brain of an Otherworldly Whale is perhaps quite straightforward.

Arausato suddenly spoke up: ”Lord of Agleya, Lady Elvia Tulais has been seeking a new Mage master for herself.

But her standards are too high... ordinary people don’t appeal to her.

Although I don’t agree with her choice, it’s better than becoming one of those Bane’s Followers in their skeletal forms... My only requirement is that the person must be female.”

Lady Elvia Tulais flared her wings furiously: ”Arausato!”

”Oh, come on!” The enormous White Dragon lazily lay down, more than half of its body submerged within the icy fog, ”You see, you overthink too much... Look at that silly whale, does it seem to know what those Necromancers are up to?”

”Hmm?” Kratos, who had been mentioned, uttered a puzzled sound and looked innocently at the shameless White Dragon snatching his Healing Potion.

Lady Elvia Tulais dejectedly lowered her head; the reason she wanted to escape life on the Ice Plain so badly is because of this... The only one she could have serious conversations with was Arausato, while the other White Dragons weren’t even as good as this whale... Whenever she came up with a brilliant plan, it always turned into a farce or even a tragedy because of that bunch of fools.

Arausato, on the other hand, loved sleeping the most, for decades at a time was common... After waking up and spending some time with her, he would sleep again!

If it weren’t for the concern that she might be tempted by the Dragon Worship Church... Arausato, being a supremacist among Giant Dragons, dislikes lovers of other races... and among the White Dragons, could anyone be stronger than Lady Elvia Tulais?

Arausato was one of those rare dragons who remained single because he couldn’t find a satisfactory mate, which was why he accepted her, once a Mage’s own.

Lady Elvia Tulais felt a little downcast, Laila is the most suitable future master she could find... She had already gone through all the books of her previous owner, even all of Arausato’s... He seized the magic books from the Arcane Brotherhood for her sake, since she once coveted them.

Arausato treated her really well... In the world of Giant Dragons, it was almost unimaginable for such a male to exist! Although Lady Elvia Tulais was filled with the desire for the profound knowledge of the Dragon Worship Church, she was willing to constrain herself for Arausato... Dragon Liches are always targeted as evil, and who knows if someone might just be unlucky... Better to seize those humans afterward!

However, it’s exceedingly difficult for a White Dragon to pursue education, as those Mage Universities allow human mages of the Evil Faction to enter but forbid a White Dragon striving for good!

The most troublesome part is that those places have ways to see her true form... The Transformation Spell doesn’t work at all.

Only by becoming a Mage’s magical pet once more could she acquire more knowledge.

Laila was the only Archmage she had been fond of over the years, but she hesitated because Laila is a Chosen of Mystra.

Lady Elvia Tulais was willing to dedicate a portion of her lifetime to follow a certain master for her own future strength, but she suspected even her death wouldn’t matter to Laila, who would still live splendidly.

But the recent fall of the Goddess of Magic incident made Lady Elvia Tulais consider slightly... Mystra didn’t cause any major issues this time, but what if there’s a next time?

Moreover, no matter how reckless that Goddess may be, it’s unlikely she’d face misfortune again in a short time, wouldn’t it take at least a thousand years or so?

By then, she would have learned a lot, enough for her to return to the Ice Plain and digest for millennia.

Moreover, even if Mystra has learned her lesson, it’s not an issue. At least Laila wouldn’t take her to her doom.
