Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 915: Chapter 711: Fran’s Gains Amidst the Starry Sky

Fran’s butler quickly came to open the door for Hill, and Hill’s gaze froze on this puppet dressed as a butler... How could there be such a powerful energy reaction?

Five legendary puppets combined wouldn’t be this strong.

Hill couldn’t help but scrutinize the butler before him; he seemed to have overlooked something.

Because he didn’t want to pry into Fran’s affairs, Hill had almost completely cut off all sorts of arrays here, even List and Marsha could only appear in the living room on the first floor.

If Fran had need, he could have the butler directly relay the message, open the study’s door, and directly contact List and Marsha in the garden.

List had mentioned that this butler was as intelligent as the Tower Spirit... but isn’t this a Tower Spirit?

How was this achieved? Tower Spirit can control many devices... but they all need magic arrays to connect. What material could be used to make a body that can contain such powerful computational capacity of a Tower Spirit?

But sitting at the desk, Fran interrupted Hill’s contemplation, his face showing some confusion, he slowly opened his mouth: ”Is there something up, Hill?

Your book, has it been copied? Isn’t it a bit too fast?

If the handwriting is sloppy, I’ll have you rewrite it!”

”No...” Hill true didn’t expect that his grandfather’s first reaction in seeing him would be this, paused a moment before answering, ”It’s that my other territory might be going to war, even though there are quite a few from the Undead Tribe there, there are also many Toril people.

At times like this, I must stand together with them...”

Fran nodded understandingly, this is the lord’s duty, he indeed can comprehend.

But he understood more clearly, the reason Hill would create a second territory was surely for the Undead Tribe: ”What benefits did William give you to make you help him this much? Isn’t this just a waste of time? Toril has even less relation to you.

I can understand your kindness, unable to ignore someone suffering in front of you, but what’s in front is enough, right?

Why bother with so many things? You’re a Mage, not a Saint.”

In Fran’s mind, the Undead Tribe wasn’t really Hill’s responsibility, not to mention Toril, Hill really didn’t need to worry so much.

”If the Undead Tribe indeed causes trouble here, I can’t just ignore it!

Not to mention they were brought into this world by Coron...

As his descendant, I am bound to bear some responsibility, when the Toril elves have nowhere to go, they will surely think of me, the Deity descendant.” Hill sighed, ”Grandfather, my connection with Coron can’t be denied, the divinity of the Father of Elves runs through my body, even if I don’t walk the path of becoming a god, I can’t deny I’ve benefited greatly from this divinity.

My growth speed... is even faster than the pure-blood Earth Bear... there are always reasons... although I usually attribute it to the Crystal Flower, inside I know very well... the bloodline of Crystal Flower could never surpass that of Earth Bear.

The thing making me grow so rapidly can only be one reason.”

After all, Coron was born on the World Tree in that universe, with both their divinities resonating and complementing each other was very normal.

Fran couldn’t help but press his forehead: ”I get it...

All along I’ve been hinting to myself to ignore this reason... who from Teraxil would want to be involved with that Divine King?

It’s virtually insulting.

Enough... You go ahead... I’ll stay here.

No matter what kind of enemies unless their strength is equal to over 200 million undead tribe members, they can’t possibly win against those crazy guys. Estimate even with a high level this world, they can’t find that many people.

Their fears are only towards existence above deities, and currently, those can’t appear. I won’t go mess around with you.

If you don’t need to take action, remember to finish copying the book... Don’t make mistakes in haste!”

Hill nodded: ”In this castle, Marsha’s attention won’t be too much, many matters must first summon her before they can be handled.

Should I temporarily transfer control of the castle to this butler of yours?

Grandfather... I’ve been looking at it for a while, is this your Tower Spirit? How is it embodied?”

Fran nodded nonchalantly: ”Idris, go hand over with Hill’s Tower Spirit.”

Hill looked with some envy as Idris emitted peculiar gray light, directly using spirit to communicate with List, how did Fran manage to provide his Tower Spirit with a free-moving body?

This is too strong, he also wants to provide one for List.

”Idris’s body is crafted using a kind of Soul Crystal as the main material, also using quite a bit.” Fran said indifferently, ”I can teach you, but you can’t use it, right?”

Hill couldn’t help but freeze... He indeed can’t use materials related to the undead.

He gently looked at his grandfather: ”Have you passed through a devil-controlled world?”

Fran said nonchalantly, ”Devils are quite an interesting species... They remind me a lot of Draculus, remember him?

It’s quite amusing, from our world, the first few worlds we reached all seemed to have a bit of a connection with devils.

I recall that great guild leader also left Teraxil, I wonder if he can manage when dealing with devils.

His habit of exploiting people... being around devils, I wonder who would end up tricking whom.

But because Draculus came before, I didn’t suffer much in those places.

I did make a few trades, at most I spent a little more gold coins, but at least I didn’t fall into those devils’ traps.

These creatures seem to have a high demand for gold, Hill, you should pay attention.

Especially when talking, be sure not to casually agree to anything or be greedy, just finish the face-to-face transaction and leave, and avoid signing any trade contracts with them.

Exchanging goods for goods, why write a contract! They’ve really gotten into the habit of deceiving people.”

Hill smiled helplessly, devils are typical for wanting to deceive anyone they can, and someone with a firm soul like Fran is exactly the type they would like.

But it’s obvious that as long as Fran doesn’t sign a contract with them, devils simply can’t target someone as powerful as him.

As for Draculus... Hill thought indifferently, that guild leader who loves manipulating skills might not be as firm as Fran in avoiding contracts with devils.

His pursuit has always been his own power, and his only obsession was that Teraxil shouldn’t be destroyed.

However, there are quite a few devil worshipers here in Toril. Hill thought for a moment before saying to Fran, ”Grandfather, in Toril, it’s best not to easily sign any contracts either. If it has to be signed, it must be witnessed by a Temple of the True Gods.

Do not sign any contract paper without the stamp of a deity, and the deity must be of intermediate divine power or above... those of lower rank divine power can sometimes be impersonated by devils.”

Fran nodded, ”It looks like you’ve seen a lot over here, this journey has been quite successful. Don’t worry! After those few worlds... now I choose face-to-face transactions without any nonsense... I’m not building any territory and don’t need to sign contracts.

By the way, are your contract papers witnessed by Coron?”

Fran suddenly became interested, wanting to see what contract papers covered with divine power looked like.

Hill was silent for a moment, then took out a dozen sheets of paper from his pendant: because of his good connections, when making contract papers, Hill could not only call upon Coron’s power, but also Tyr and Lansendel, and even Suren would lend him their power.

And one time, on a whim, he called upon Tom, and surprisingly, it was successful.

Hill didn’t even know when Tom had given him such high permissions... Gods don’t have the time to personally respond to these requests; they simply open a portal for those they trust, which can be accessed using a set prayer when needed.

He suspected that it was because of the damage he caused to Bane’s followers... Bane’s Santalin Meeting suffered indeed significant losses in Agleya.

Even the eventual complete destruction of Santir Fortress had something to do with Agleya.

Fran flipped through the contract papers Hill handed over, sighed helplessly: clearly, his grandson was a mage in the making, so why was he always so involved with so many deities?

In the end, Fran could only remind him, ”The power of deities is indeed strong, but don’t let it blind you.

A mage is your righteous path... observe the current situation and you’ll see... relying on others is pointless; only your own strength matters.”

Hill quickly nodded, ”Of course, of course, I will definitely stick to the path of a mage!”

Fran meant for him to become a mage... It seems after leaving Teraxil, he’s learned that magicians and mages actually arrive at the same destination from different paths, and Hill can fully take both roles.

No wonder Fran was once again inclined to guide him on his mage path.

Leaving Fran’s study, Hill couldn’t help but let out a small breath of relief, then he saw Vila playing in the garden.

”Hill~” The little flower fairy dashed over quickly, ”List said you’re going out again! This time it’s to see the Teraxil Elves fight in the new northern territory~ I want to go too!”

Hill was silent for a few seconds, then displayed a gentle smile, ”Of course, anyone who wants to go, can go.”

This was perfect!

Hill had just been wondering how to suppress Vila’s mischievous urges when leaving.

While he wasn’t around, getting the little flower fairy to always remember Hill’s warning not to cause trouble was a bit challenging... her memory in this aspect wasn’t necessarily better than that of a seven-year-old troublemaker.

Hill had been considering leaving a holy relic painting for Fran, but felt it was too harsh for the little fairy...

Fortunately, Vila indeed had no thoughts of mischief from Fran’s side... it seemed she truly remembered her vow and was now only thinking about going to Luskan to enjoy the show.

With only Oberon and his fairy spirits in the castle, there wouldn’t be any problems at all.
