Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 925: Chapter 721: Two White Dragons Standing at the Crossroads

”So why do you think I would tell you the truth?” Hill laughed nonchalantly, ”Allies must maintain a certain distance!”

Elvia Tulais and Arausato fell silent together, the two dragons seemed to be exchanging glances... For the giant dragons, thinking to first use certain things to build a good relationship or to gain the upper hand in negotiations was already a very challenging task, they were more accustomed to direct confrontation.

However, the initial plan was completely frustrated, and both were a bit confused, not knowing what to do.

Hill could only remain silent for the time being; he couldn’t tell the two stuck dragons to just say what they needed to say and be straightforward... Dragon conspiracies should not be played before humans... Hill suspected that the legendary success of some of this female dragon’s plans was due to Laila’s guidance behind the scenes... Very likely true.

After all, the battles that made Elvia Tulais famous were against the Evil Faction and those absolutely neutral ones in Icewind Valley that were displeasing...

But Hill wouldn’t think this female dragon’s fame was unearned, after all, she was notorious for beating an Archmage head-on.

Moreover, the initial plan must have been proposed by her, and at most, Laila helped refine it.

A scheme of today’s caliber, although a bit crude, could have succeeded if it targeted a young person with overwhelming vanity.

But Hill... the compliments he heard in the past, these dragons couldn’t come up with even if they lived for another hundred thousand years...

His parents... once held real power... Although their positions weren’t high, it wasn’t until Hill got into a university unrelated to the economy and technology his parents managed that he realized he was just an ordinary person.

Before that, although he tried to remain rational... the constant praise did make him a bit conceited... until the senior sister hung two cement buckets on him, and only then did he know exactly how much he was worth...

As for studying... after all, he had various hobbies since young and was not completely immersed in studies like others... But back then, he was actually quite proud, after all, despite all the distractions, he still got into a top-tier university...

What truly devastated him was... his strength... wasn’t even as good as that of a senior sister who was 20 cm shorter!

All his life being praised for his persistence in exercise was for show?

It was truly a shocking education... although later Hill understood that a civil engineering senior sister was a bit different...

Recalling past experiences, Hill also fell into silence.

Luckily, the awkward atmosphere was eventually broken by Kratos in the icy mist.

Although the White Dragon beside him kept talking, Kratos, accompanied by Purwell, restored completely oblivious to them... he gradually floated, observed the two dragons, and instantly activated, flying with a ”swoosh” sound behind Purwell’s ship with the little light ball on his head.

Getting caught this time at least taught him what it means to not stand under a dangerous wall.

”What will it take for you to accept White Dragons to work in Luskan?” Elvia Tulais couldn’t stand it anymore. She turned directly to Hill, bringing her slender head forward, ”I... can make every White Dragon entering Luskan sign a contract, promising to never violate Luskan’s laws... I know you have good relationships with many deities... they can even sign Tyr’s contract!

The World’s Ridge is too barren... many White Dragons have never tasted fresh meat even when they reached adulthood!

With accommodations, food, and payment... I can assure you not one will rebel!

If a problem arises... I swear to capture the troublesome White Dragon and eliminate it directly!”

Hill said indifferently, ”There’s something I must clarify in advance: my contracts usually won’t use Tyr’s Divine Power, but rather Lansendel’s.”

”Aren’t you from the Orderly Camp?” Arausato exclaimed, ”How can you be so crazy... pooh... how dare you use that deity’s power?”

Hill felt he wanted to spit out the word, but worried it might cause a misunderstanding, so he uttered a ”pooh” sound... indeed, whenever he mentioned Lansendel to the inhabitants of Toril... ah, no, only those who’ve lived longer would react like this... their response made Hill gain a deeper understanding of his friend, the God of Dawn.

Hill helplessly smiled: ”But, some dare to violate Tyr’s contract, whereas Lansendel’s is never possible! Tyr’s contract only restrains the body, which for dragons that can transform into Dragon Liches, is not a binding they can’t shake off... Lansendel’s can guarantee the soul!

Lansendel personally told me he could make the violator’s body and soul burn under the sun for thousands of years, his contract witnessing is the most effective in Toril.

This is a deity’s guarantee, of course, I believe in it!

Lady Elvia Tulais, Mr. Arausato, as Orderly Good, if I truly choose to cooperate with the Evil Faction, there will be only this way.

Toril has witnessed too many miracles... even so, I doubt there wouldn’t be any loophole getting caught... I’ve decided to trust Lansendel, shouldn’t you also recognize the extent of my sacrifice?”

Hill showed a faint smile, ”You can take your time to consider... Oh, Lady Elvia Tulais, you’d better first consult Laila to find out how many legal clauses Luskan actually has.

It’s no good going back on your word when the time comes~ Lansendel’s power isn’t borrowed in vain.”

Then Hill left leisurely with the two whales.

The two white dragons were left stunned... they didn’t even think about stopping Hill... for dragons, tearing up a contract isn’t a big deal.

Although the soul would be injured, it would heal after sleeping for a few hundred or thousand years... it just depends on whether it’s necessary.

If robbing Luskan could allow them to live carefree for thousands of years with greatly increased strength, of course they would rob it.

Having stayed in the World’s Ridge for tens of thousands of years, Arausato could find seven or eight hiding places that even Tyr couldn’t find them in.

As long as the two only robbed without hurting people... who would still be hunting them in a few thousand years! It’s not even certain if the victims would still be alive by then!

Laila was just a last resort, Arausato and Elvia Tulais just hoped to use this to lower the vigilance of the Lord of Agleya... however, what was offered in return was even more terrifying!

The two dragons looked at each other silently, now they almost only had two paths to choose from: either Elvia Tulais and Laila or another Luskan Mage sign a contract, then take the willing white dragons to join Luskan.

Or they would have to completely relocate, move east of the World’s Ridge.

But that area is really too barren.

Although the two of them don’t care much about their kin, Elvia Tulais at least has the title of White Dragon Queen, as long as she moves, those white dragons will definitely follow... the resources over there can’t sustain the consumption of so many dragons!

Dragons that can’t even afford to eat carrion... thinking about the miserable future, Elvia Tulais felt darkness before her eyes.

The shame of the Chromatic Dragons is something they can only accept, after all, the white dragons are the weakest!

But the disgrace of dragons... they still can’t accept it!

”How about... we be honest?” Arausato asked tentatively, ”Don’t be so greedy... you can’t get everything. Let’s survive first!

I really can’t beat this lord... didn’t you notice my wounds have completely healed?”

Elvia Tulais focused on Arausato: when the lord left, quite a bit of ice mist remained, and this ancient white dragon was rolling in it without hesitation.

Even the tips of his wings were covered with a bit of ice mist.

The wounds on his body that were burnt by dark spells when he robbed the Mage Tower had actually healed! The most severe wounds only left a tiny scar.

”I’ll leave the remaining Healing Mist for you.” Arausato reluctantly left the area, ”Isn’t there a scar on your abdomen? Try to see if it can be healed... I think it can.”

Elvia Tulais’s eyes lit up and she rushed right in... although she is very strong-willed, she is also a beauty-loving lady!

Then she realized why Arausato said that.

As an Ancient White Dragon, Arausato’s power is very strong... if his injuries couldn’t be resolved by his own regenerative ability, then it’s not something anyone could easily resolve... those priests below Demigod Level wouldn’t even have a glimmer of hope for healing.

But the Lord of Agleya’s casual ice mist could resolve it... and it wasn’t even released specifically for Arausato!

What level of power was he exactly at? No wonder Arausato suddenly asked such a question.

Elvia Tulais thought to herself she partly wanted to know too, if he really was stronger than Intermediate Divine Power... it wouldn’t be impossible to find a male lord after all... not to mention that face was so good-looking.

She was still a bit unwilling to relinquish, but now it’s important to carefully place both of her wingtips into the last patch of ice mist... the long scar on her abdomen from thousands of years ago actually healed!

The thing that bothers Elvia Tulais the most about her body is the few slightly grayed scales on the tips of her wings, hoping this ice mist could be of some use.

Her tail happily tapped the ground, she suddenly asked Arausato: ”I remember the last time that guy from the Dragon Worship Church came, he said that Laila had a granddaughter of Azuth by her side? Said to be born with the former Mystra.

Still purely human at the moment... they didn’t ascend to the Stellar Realm before, now it’s even less likely, right?

The current one, even if she recovers and stops troubling Azuth, wouldn’t let his descendants become the Chosen, right?

Who knows if with the Goddess of Magic’s divinity, one would suddenly mutate, and then compete with her for authority of the Weave?”

She tilted her head to look at her partner, seeking his opinion... after all, Arausato better understood the relationships between the deities.
