Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 948: Chapter 744: The Plot Between the Temple of Heim and Neverwinter

Lynn cheerfully sat in Hill’s study: He was eager to know the details of the war in Luskan, but he had no desire to listen to the boastings of the City Guard, let alone endure the chatter of a group of little fairies beside them… He really didn’t know what events had transpired recently to make the relationship between elves and fairies advance so rapidly, as they harmoniously spread exaggerated tales.

If he really listened to them, the intensity would seem as if it could spark a war of the gods. What he wanted to know was the detailed process of the incident, not a story embellished with exaggerations.

Hill asked him curiously, “Didn’t you go to the Alchemy Hall to watch? If you tell the Temporal Artifact, it’ll display the battle process of the Undead Tribe on the great screen. I estimate you could even see the battles between the elves and the Temple Army.”

Lynn replied expressionlessly, “There are many undead who didn’t participate in battle there… the kind that likes to follow behind the Druids and farm and plant trees.

Their perspective is different from mine, and I can’t just fight with them for it, can I?”

Hill glanced at Lynn sympathetically, guessing that his friend had been a bit traumatized: Not even planning to go to something like a regional battlefield, yet following the troop’s departure from the undead in Teraxil, surely these are just people looking for fun…

He couldn’t help but laugh and summoned List to explain to Lynn what had happened in the past few days.

As for him, Hill put one book after another, which he had recently copied, on the desk: Fran was affected emotionally by the incident with the Dilo Dwarves and went straight into the lab, but he would probably come out after a while to see Hill’s recent study results.

For a mature mage like Hill, it wasn’t suitable for Fran to directly instill his concepts of everything into him, so Fran’s requirement was just for him to read these books carefully and integrate suitable things into his own law system.

As for what he had learned, Fran would not ask.

Fran did indeed come over soon, looked at the books on Hill’s desk, and took them away with satisfaction, “Very good, it seems you haven’t been only watching the spectacle.”

The Alchemist Master understood very well that when the deities couldn’t descend to the Lower Realm and even mages close to the Demigod Level couldn’t make a move, the army of the Undead Tribe was surely invincible.

At this point, List happened to be talking about the matter of the White Dragon, and Fran, who was originally about to leave, paused his steps, “Is there going to be a White Dragon here?

Those brainless creatures… they don’t even know what fear is.

Even if those guys are not allowed into Agleya, they might not listen, right?

During my time in Aberleigh, it wasn’t for nothing; I made a lot of potions and tools effective against giant dragons. Later, I’ll have Idris send them to you.”

Hill solemnly nodded.

One could tell from Fran’s words how many Chromatic Dragons he had dealt with in Aberleigh… No wonder the Black Dragons and their supporting families were so wary of Fran and didn’t dare do much. As long as Fran didn’t fatally strike the dragons of their family, the Black Dragons could maintain a peaceful coexistence with him.

Lynn, who heard this conversation, looked on with admiration as the Alchemist Master elegantly departed.

He turned to Hill and asked, “My friend, your grandfather must be the strongest mage in Teraxil, right?”

“Not necessarily…” Hill shook his head, recalling that the president of the Mage Association once said that there were quite a few mages who could compare with and surpass him back then. Only he stayed in Teraxil, “But he is definitely the strongest Alchemist Master.”

Indeed, being a mage requires high-level talents, and Fran and Hill both count as extraordinarily gifted in this regard, but that president’s talent is by no means inferior to theirs.

With almost equal talent, living long enough is the best capital.

It’s just unknown whether Draculus can struggle free from the devil’s temptations… His temperament truly fits the style of Hell. If the devils could offer him as a sacrifice to the Lord of Hell, they might even get a duke’s position in return.

Lynn nodded in surprise, “It seems that Teraxil World is indeed very powerful.

When the World Gate connects again, I definitely want to visit.”

Hill smiled, “By then, even if I’m still traveling outside, Agleya will ensure a good hospitality for you.”

Lynn smiled and nodded, “That would be my honor… So, are you heading out again?”

“I need to go to the Hidden Forest area… If a large number of adult White Dragons are going to settle there, I wouldn’t want dragon hunters roaming around my territory.” Hill said plainly, “The juvenile White Dragons will first go to Hidden Town. I’ll only bring them over if they are unguided by their parents.

Near that mountain range, first have the Druids plant pine and oak trees, and on the hills, plant fruit-bearing shrubs and low fruit trees. The open areas should be filled with pasture, and lastly, move some livestock younglings and chickens and ducks from the ranches in the Sword Mountain Range over.”

“Hill…” Lynn paused for a moment before asking, “Do you still remember the prison in that mountain that holds some elves… there are dozens of idiots in there…”

“Of course I remember.” Hill sneered, “Don’t you think it’s fitting to keep them together?”

Lynn smiled helplessly, since Hill was aware yet still wanted a bunch of White Dragon youngsters to sing and dance over those elves’ heads, there wasn’t much else to say.

After all, these guys were bringing it upon themselves, being aware of Hill’s taboos but still choosing to violate them.

To be frank, in the current Toril, even the Moonflower Royalty does not hold as prestigious a status as Hill, even though he is only a half-elf.

But even the dumbest elf wouldn’t dare yell at him: “A mongrel with impure blood has no right to meddle in the affairs of pureblood elves.”

Although Coron is mostly good-tempered… it doesn’t mean he has no temper.

If someone were to lose their elven status over something as trivial as a loose tongue, they might not even close their eyes in death.

After completing his work in Agleya, Hill hurriedly bid farewell to Lynn and set off towards the Hidden Forest aboard the Pulvey Ship.

He only stayed in the Floating Castle for half a day, so he wasn’t aware that Lynn had calmly rejected several communication requests from cities in The North, once it was discovered how busy he was… to put it plainly, Neverwinter was trying to salvage the situation and had asked friendly cities in the Silvermoon Alliance to intercede.

In fact, a delegation from Neverwinter was staying at an inn outside of Agleya Town: during their last visit, they stayed in a luxurious guest lodge in Agleya City, but now they had to compete with merchants for high-level rooms in the inn.

After realizing Hill detests Neverwinter, Lynn dealt with the matter in the traditional elven style.

Which was essentially to ignore it.

No matter how Neverwinter struggled… Lynn could see that after no longer requiring the defense of half-orcs at Neverwinter, the Tyr Temple had completely lost interest in the city.

But the Temple of Heim was a different story.

So these days, after running into a cold dismissal at the Tyr Temple, the Neverwinter emissaries devoted all their energies to the Temple of Heim… Agleya City indeed hasn’t given Heim followers many benefits.

After all, in this city named after the Sea God, if new residents have any religious needs, they mostly go to the Sea God Temple… which seems to somewhat displease the Church of Heim.

They needed a large number of adventurers as mercenaries, so they were somewhat wavering on Neverwinter’s plea for them to return… that city’s foundation was adventurers.

If Tyr does not return, it would indeed be an excellent opportunity for them to develop believers.

Lynn stood at the entrance of the city hall, watching the Otherworldly Whale fly away in the distance, observing the Neverwinter emissary rushing over with a changed expression, and let out a cold smile: “What happened, Mr. Robar Caslana? Why are you in such a hurry?”

“Was that the Lord of Agleya?” Robar Caslana… the current King of Neverwinter City’s brother-in-law, asked with a livid face, “He just left like that? Where did he go! Why didn’t you inform me when he was back!”

“What does it matter to you when our Lord of Agleya returns home?” Lynn asked coldly, “The reach of Neverwinter is too long, isn’t it?”

“Lynn!” Robar said angrily, “I’ve been asking you all along to meet your Lord! What are you trying to do?”

“Who do you think you are?” Lynn asked with an expression of cold indifference, “Do you think you can just meet him at will? The only ones who can talk to our Lord like that are the deities.”

Robar struggled to repress his anger, finally squeezing out through his teeth: “Since you’re so arrogant, don’t blame us for what we do!”

Lynn chuckled: “Go ahead! I really didn’t expect, even now, you still don’t understand when our Lord voluntarily brought back the Righteous Knights, it was the end of any connection with Neverwinter… without the Tyr Temple, what are you?”

Robar shot a cold glance at Lynn and left with a flick of his sleeve.

Oste walked out from the side: “Lynn, why so aggressive today?”

Lynn gave him a smile: “Looks like you’ve gained quite a bit after leading the team to Luskan! Congratulations, Defense Officer.

There’s nothing much to say about Neverwinter’s matters; Pulvey didn’t return incognito, it’s not as if they didn’t see it.

If at that time he had directly approached me to request meeting Hill, I wouldn’t have refused to pass on the message… but he intended to make Hill extend an invitation first?

Just because he has a sister married to the King of Neverwinter?

Does he really think his status is significantly different?

Ah, what foolish humans, to this day they still don’t understand what kind of place Agleya is.”

Oste laughed and spread his hands: “Ah! In this respect, the elves aren’t much better than them, so let’s not bring it up… you probably left before seeing what a mess Eternity Island has become over these years.

Otherwise, you’d think we were truly so foolish to conjure up a Crusader… without a steadfast will, the army wouldn’t have earned this title.

However, he looks like he still has something to rely on, right?”

“The Church of Heim might follow him back to Neverwinter.” Lynn showed a disdainful smile, “He thinks he has won.”
