Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 935: Chapter 731: White Dragon and the Young Girl

The little girl with pink ribbons held a pink bouquet, showing an adorable smile that made people feel comfortable just looking at her... Unfortunately, Hill couldn’t smile at all... When this female dragon appeared in front of Edna, Hill realized what he had been ignoring — that little bit of vigilance... For Elvia Tulais, who pursued the latest spell theory and more spell incantations, Edna, who possessed Azuth’s Encyclopedia of Magics that could increase its pages at any time, was more suitable than Laila.

Moreover, Laila is ever-present... There are so many descendants of Azuth, the Deity of Mages may not necessarily care about a girl several generations apart... As long as she isn’t a Chosen, unless Edna can become a Transcendent above level 20, otherwise, the future of that book doesn’t belong to her, Elvia Tulais!

In some sense, the White Dragon Queen’s choice isn’t entirely wrong... Her wild instinct truly chose the most promising master for her... It’s just, it might not align well with her initial target...

Powerful and free... not necessarily the white dragon only desires freedom... right?

Anyway, even if Elvia Tulais follows Edna along with Arausato, it doesn’t matter. These two dragons never enter the Gods’ sights... They don’t impact any major events...

Forget it... Hill felt a bit weak... He tightly held onto his desk, sat back on the sofa, and slowly reached out to support his chin... No matter how much he comforted himself, he still couldn’t understand how things reached this point...

Elvia Tulais lowered her head with a happy smile, narrowing her icy, cunning eyes into slits: ”I have always hoped to find a mage friend who can grow with me. I wonder if you would like to have me by your side?”

Edna was stunned and couldn’t help but turn back to look at her friends for help. She didn’t know how to handle such a complex issue... She wasn’t an important person, so how could a giant dragon suddenly appear and want to follow her?

Even though it’s a white dragon... the tone of voice is so close to normal... This must be an ancient dragon at least!

Ordinary people find it quite difficult even to catch a white dragon that is like a beast, let alone have an ancient white dragon come to them voluntarily... Could it be that her ancestor, the Deity of Mages, suddenly had a conscience?

Edna was a bit dazed and touched the pendant on her chest. She thought Azuth might care more about her dad... After all, she still carried Elaströ’s blood.

”Laila and I are very good friends,” the white dragon quickly interjected, ”She already agreed for me to come find you, but this matter can only be decided by you... Laila merely gave me the opportunity.

Even though I reside at the bane of evil, I abide by order... If I have a master, I would never defy the master’s intentions... even if asked to give up some small hobbies.”

This dragon indeed got the travel permit from the Municipal Officer of Luskan, with Laila’s rose crest shimmering on the long chain around its neck.

Hill closely observed, and Laila seems to know her friend well, only granting a temporary pass, which would expire after a day.

But he couldn’t quite understand why Laila thought Elvia Tulais following Edna was a good thing... Wasn’t she afraid this white dragon would lead the little girl down a path of no return?

Well, Laila might truly not care... She has always been naturalistic, so when making friends, she only cares if the conversation flows well, never thinking anyone could influence her.

When she was about the same age as Edna, this girl was also quite liberated.

Luckily, the white dragon swiftly explained its origin, and the ’Old Age Striking King’ standing behind Edna nonchalantly lowered his fist, gesturing to the family members who were gathering with magic wands and swords to not approach: ”Elvia Tulais, is it? Quite a long name... Are all giant dragons so unafraid of trouble?

But you truly are fearless!

No need for us to test the faction of a white dragon... Next time, don’t rush directly at us.

If we weren’t busy with other matters, you’d be in trouble by now...

We Teraxil Elves, what we desire most is the title of the first Dragon Slayer!

Ah! So many must be regretting, and Hill didn’t even give us a chance...”

The female priest wearing a red robe turned to look at Edna: ”You really like my animal companion, don’t you? But the animals here on Toril seem quite different compared to Teraxil, a bit stupid...

The innate intelligence of the magical beasts back home should be similar to a white dragon, the higher the level, the smarter they are.

Having seen such intelligent animals, it’s hard to accept these brain-dead ones here on Toril... Really only fit to be food.

So, Edna! Raising a dragon isn’t a bad idea... Rest assured, the equivalent of a cow’s worth of food per day is nothing on our side, look at your ’Cunlü’ sister!

The Duchess can afford it!

Our Black Rose Family has so many pigs! Not one has starved.

Mages aren’t going to lack money, haven’t you learned many crafting methods for small items? The price of selling one can support her for a year.

Even if we’re not by your side, you don’t need to worry, you can also go to Hill to buy... With all those cows, sheep, and pigs in his Sword Mountain Range... Even with just the two dragons in Agleya City, they can’t finish them all.

Don’t worry about those little issues; Hill has always been friendly towards his people and will definitely give you an internal price.

Ah! But I’m just suggesting, you don’t have to fully listen to me. I’ve told you many times, you should ask yourself if something is worth doing and not just completely rely on others’ words; it’s your own life you’re living... Edna, there’s no one left in Luskan to expel you, Hill doesn’t have so much drama!

Even Mystra coming out personally wouldn’t work.

So, what you need to think about now is, without worrying about financial pressure, whether or not you would like to have a White Dragon companion?

Think it over carefully!

I’m off to work! Don’t worry, I’ll leave one ear here, so if anything happens, I’ll come right over. It’s okay to refuse her; she wouldn’t dare to do anything to you!”

Then this Priest went off with others to continue her work, looking quite busy. Logically speaking, since the half-orcs have left and the sounds of battle from Mirabar have ceased, Luskan shouldn’t have much work left!

Although Hill was a bit curious about what exactly they were up to, he was more concerned with matters on Edna’s side.

Eventually, we will find out... nothing remains a secret among the Undead Tribe.

Edna held the bouquet gently, her eyes glistening with waves; she tilted her head, thought for a moment, then looked up and asked Elvia Tulais: ”Can you tell me the reason you chose me? Please don’t say it’s because I’m cute or something like that. I may be young, but I do know what a White Dragon is!

I just want to know the truth... I will seriously consider even the most uncomfortable reasons!”

The little girl’s gaze was firm as if she had thought of something, she couldn’t help but add: ”But if it’s because of my bloodline grandmother, I’d advise you to give up... she has really turned into a scum... the biggest part of her has already completely fused with the current Goddess of Magic.

There is absolutely no chance for resurrection, following me is useless.”

Elvia Tulais was taken aback and hesitantly said: ”Why would you think like that? Why would I look for her? That person is actually very annoying to women!

And even male mages don’t necessarily like her... although she had children with Azuth, she really only fancies handsome young men... only some exceptionally powerful mages can earn her reward of being taken under her wing.

Although the previous Mystra was indeed a very powerful lady, and quite beautiful too... but my former master was very old and quite conservative... he kind of hated her. Of course, it might also be because he was not qualified in either respect...”

Edna blinked and was about to ask something when the voice of the ’Old Age Striking King’ floated over: ”That Elvia something, don’t talk to children about inappropriate topics!”

The White Dragon uneasily moved her claw: ”Isn’t she over 10? Girls on Toril can get married at 12! In normal noble families, they start chamber education after 8!

You can’t measure human maturity with elven age!

Even if you look similar, she will definitely mature before you!”

Elvia Tulais couldn’t help but widen her confused eyes: ”If humans reach 200 years without considering romantic issues... that’s so pitiful!”

A spectator, Hill, felt he was struck heavily.

”What does a Giant Dragon know! A pure love at 16 is understandable, 12? If anyone dares to speak, I’ll directly castrate him!” The ’Old Age Striking King’ said loudly in a disdainful tone: ”When young, it’s normal to be moved by sentiments and restrained by etiquette, otherwise it’s worse than a beast!

Love is beautiful, but there should be no nonsense.

Tsk, saying this to you is of no use, just remember... don’t talk about those crap things between men and women to Edna before she’s 16... if you have to gossip, it’s better to tell stories about being deceived because of being too silly by men.

Even if you become a companion to Edna... if I want to beat you up, she can’t stop me... Edna wouldn’t stop it either, right?”

”Right!” Edna responded straightforwardly, ”Sanda King Sister is always right!”

Elvia Tulais was stunned for a while, she tilted her head thinking hard: even though Edna seems like an agreeable master, she is too deeply influenced by these foreign elves... could it affect her future choices?

What if Edna goes to another world? She really does not want to leave Arausato.

The White Dragon anxiously stomped her claw, she only decided after seeing that Encyclopedia of Magics, was she being a bit impulsive?

However... the battle in Luskan was won so quickly!

Elvia Tulais is very worried about her and Arausato’s future.
