Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 943: Chapter 739: Suren’s Moonlight

Even though she quickly calculated the value of her partner and their children who depend on her partner for survival, Elvia Tulais still tried hard to pull her wandering thoughts back: “I want to know, what about the young white dragons? If we all leave the ice plain, they can’t survive on their own!”

Although many adult dragons are not very good to these little dragons, when they are full, they will still throw some leftovers to them… and allow these little dragons to stay in their territory to catch mice and gnaw on ice plain moss.

But after they all leave, those white dragons born in the Year of Thunder won’t give these little dragons any chances again, and will definitely drive them all out of their territory… Even Elvia has to admit that even a teenage white dragon might not be able to defeat an Ice Plain Wolf.

She… being the White Dragon Queen for over a thousand years, she really doesn’t want to see little dragons having to survive by gnawing on maggots.

Hill replied gently: “As long as they sign an agreement with me, and follow Agleya’s rules while staying in the forest, I will allow the young white dragons to move to the back mountain of the Agleya territory to live… Besides, I don’t really like Neverwinter, and I don’t want them to pass through that mountain easily into my territory.

However, these white dragons must also promise that in the future, they will sign contracts with the Teraxil Elves. I can’t raise them for free.

Eventually, I will naturally recoup the costs from the Teraxil Elves.

They can also choose to live in the Hidden Forest, especially those whose parents have signed contracts with the Teraxil Elves; I allow them to reside in that part of the forest.

I will also raise some livestock in those two places, and with the fish in the lake and sea available for them to hunt freely… I think it should be enough to keep themselves fed.”

Admittedly, it’s likely that the Undead Tribe will have already left Toril before these little dragons grow up.

But Hill can use them as an excuse.

He can’t let people feel that he’s not getting any benefit from this, just acting out of good heart.

At least not on the surface.

The people of Toril wouldn’t understand this kind of action by Hill, they would only think he has a world-shaking conspiracy.

In this world, there is no unwarranted goodwill… Suren does, but this goddess has long become a negative example.

But this seemingly large consumption is actually nothing to Hill, as he lacks for nothing but food.

Livestock in his territory always grow fast.

He’s just looking for some amusement.

Making Neverwinter, which lost the protection of Tyr’s Holy Knights, shiver under the gaze of dozens of white dragons makes him very happy.

However, as the kind-hearted Lord of Agleya, even if he has malice towards his neighbors, he feels embarrassed to say it directly… As for keeping some homeless white dragons in his territory, slightly pressuring his neighbors… there’s no helping that, as they are his reserve army prepared for his territory.

At most, he would put up a sign saying: Beware of the evil dragon, please detour.

Although the shortest route from Neverwinter to Deepwater City must pass through that mountain… they could also detour through the bay! Even if there might be white dragons catching fish at the seaside, Neverwinter could also detour through the deep sea!

Hill feels righteous about this: the safety of Sword Bay’s oceans relies entirely on his Agleya! If Neverwinter has any guts, they can always pray for Ambori’s protection!

Elvia’s first reaction after hearing Hill’s words was not joy, but rather she chased after him and asked: “Is the contract paper still using Suren’s? As long as it’s Suren’s, there’s no problem!”

A laugh rang out from the Divine Artifact of William: “Actually, you don’t need to worry so much about Lansendel! He’s having fun in another world now, not at all thinking about causing problems in Toril.

Besides, although his contracts are relatively harsh, as long as you don’t break them there shouldn’t be any problems, right?

White dragons shouldn’t do anything that foolish, right?”

The White Dragon Queen snorted a few times: “With such good days, no white dragon would want to live it wrong… Breach of contract is definitely impossible.

It’s not related to the content of the contracts.

The power of the Lord of Dawn is undeniable… but that he’s a disaster star also needs no doubt.

Anyone in Toril who has lived a bit longer, who would want to get involved with him?

The ones good with him… tsk… since the first great calamity, the chosen of Dawn have changed six generations! Mystree’s Elminster is still living well!”

Hill couldn’t say anything, just showing an awkward smile.

In fact, he doesn’t really feel that Lansendel is that terrible… Although he didn’t inquire much about this Lord of Dawn’s affairs in Alice’s world, at least from the news heard from the Undead Tribe, it all sounds pretty good.

How should I put it?

Lansendel indeed has his charm…

The people in the World of Quince liked his ever-changing character and style, and they were madly devoted to him, worshiping him.

Although the Quinces were very grateful for the life-saving grace of the Teraxil Divinity and respected them, they did not offer their faith to any Teraxil god… Even the chaotic and good-natured Goddess of the Silvermoon was considered too rule-abiding by the Quinces…

That was a world so chaotic even Coron found it such.

However, Lansendel thrived there, and in no time, most people in the World of Quince offered him their allegiance.

Thanks to her relationship with Hill, Alice, who gained Lansendel’s special favor, was living a very comfortable life… If she had any intention of expanding her territory, her country might have encompassed most of Quince.

Perhaps due to Teraxil’s encounters, Alice was very cautious in her affairs, unwilling to risk diluting her power just for territorial expansion.

It’s imaginable how well Lansendel was living in Quince!

The Lord of Dawn was thus living a carefree life: since the Dawn Calamity, he hadn’t received such reverence from so many people… When the people of Toril thought of him, their first reaction was a shiver.

For Lansendel, who enjoyed basking in the spotlight to receive the adoration of others, Quince was his dream paradise.

Since arriving there, he never again had the thought of pretending to be the Sun… the Quinces, if anything, preferred his teachings as the Lord of Dawn.

William actually didn’t find the Lord of Dawn that troublesome; although few of the Undead Tribe stayed long in Quince, many visited for a while… It’s understandable the Quinces liked excitement, as a nap could see your location change from land to sea, which is the favorable change… If it turned into an erupting volcano, you’d be doomed.

The Undead Tribe didn’t mind such things; in fact, they hoped for such changes… their greatest joy in visiting Quince was gambling on fortune.

From the words of those of the Undead Tribe, William could sense Lansendel was a god with ambition… just a bit radical, not quite suitable for Toril’s conservative world.

But in a place like Quince, he got along well with Lansendel… They were all people who seized the time to act wildly while still alive.

So when faced with the White Dragon Queen’s doubts, William merely said flatly, “Alright, let’s set aside the controversy over the Lord of Dawn… Let’s see what he does in Quince first… I completely don’t feel there could be any troublesome matter.”

Elvia shook her head indifferently, unwilling to say more, lest she offend that petty Lord of Dawn.

As long as the White Dragon had nothing to do with Lansendel… when he stirs up trouble, he targets not individuals, but the complete annihilation of areas.

“So, the agreement is established?” William asked solemnly.

“No problem!” Elvia quickly responded, wanting to hurry and leave her mark, then head to the Ice Plain to find dragons.

Edna glanced at her already anxious magical pet and nodded helplessly, “I have no objections.”

“Then Hill, please compile all clauses into two copies of the contract,” William requested.

The signing of the contract was easy, as both parties intended nothing ceremonious; when Hill called upon Suren to witness, the moonlight fell from the sky, a little too intense…

Hill saw Edna and Elvia off without a change in expression, watching the White Dragon soar into the sky and Edna rush toward the ‘Old Age Striking King’ waiting at the door.

Then he quietly informed William, “The contract earlier was witnessed by Suren personally; she was very happy.”

“Aren’t Toril Gods… unable to enter the Prime Material Plane?” William asked in surprise.

“It’s not that they can’t enter… but the cost of entry is too high,” Hill explained, “because the connection through the Weave is too easy, so gods handle some minor affairs through the Weave.

But for more private matters, they’d use Divine Power to establish small portals… Otherwise, wouldn’t Mystra know everything?

It was fine when the previous one was in charge; everyone knew her temperament, but this one, with an unpredictable nature, who knows if she’d speak out impulsively.

But these portals are usually in their major temples, and using them consumes a lot of Divine Power for the gods, so unless necessary, they avoid using them.

But Suren… do you think she would worry about sparing any effort?

If she wants to do something, she’ll just do it.”

Hill didn’t think Suren would be displeased hearing this… The lady might even loudly praise Hill for understanding her.

William remained silent for a few seconds: “Has Suren’s power… grown stronger?” he arduously complemented with, “I didn’t even sense her arrival… Is it that strong…”

Hill knew what William was thinking; he genuinely liked Shaer, and his compliments were so reluctant.

He couldn’t help but smile: “Yes, the energy contained in the moonlight is very powerful, not much less than Lansendel’s Power of Dawn. It seems the beautiful Lady of the Silvermoon gained many benefits from this crisis.”

In a few years, Suren may be able to fully integrate her returning powers and make a direct comeback to mighty Divine Power.
