Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 911: Chapter 707: The Suddenly Appearing Mithril Elves

Hill’s attempt to stop it was completely ineffective... Fran, who was usually only interested in books, directly pressed him into the study to continue copying books and then followed Lynn to the rooftop garden to drink tea and chat.

Even Vila eagerly followed. She was ready to explain to this prominent figure who could so clearly restrain Hill what it was that Hill had obtained but was ready to throw away. On this matter, she surely had a say.

Hill could only silently return to his bedroom, preparing to take a bath and calm down.

He understood well that to quickly establish friendships among several strangers, it was necessary to speak ill of a mutual friend...

Now he was the medium being used... even if he was displeased, he could only accept the result.

Fortunately for Fran, new knowledge was still more important, and their friendly interaction lasted only one day before it ended.

List also took this opportunity to create a satisfactorily comfortable living environment for Fran, who had always wanted to live alone. But in front of that huge, well-equipped alchemy laboratory, Fran relented.

However, he still deduced from List’s work some of Hill’s small troubles: Hill’s puppets seemed insufficient.

These things he had in abundance... Staying in Aber’s only benefit was that elemental materials were quite plentiful. Although Fran stayed in his mobile magic tower, he did not dare sleep much. It was a place where someone could attack at any moment, so he would only ensure the basic rest time and then stay up nights practicing making puppets.

The best sleep he had in years was the night Hill brought him aboard the whale.

Fran slowly walked around his half of the castle, then looked across. The only places connecting the two parts of the building were the downstairs hall and the rooftop garden, making it very suitable for two mages to live together.

Standing in the top-floor bedroom, the gentle breeze blew in, bringing with it a peculiar and cool fragrance. With so many kinds of flowers, grasses, and trees, he didn’t know why, but Fran felt like he was smelling the scent of moonlight.

Indeed... moonlight should be colorless and odorless, yet he could feel himself surrounded by the milky white glow of moonlight.

Fran felt drowsy and thought he should sleep some more.

When Hill woke up after a nap, he discovered hundreds of high-level puppets in his castle. Although the materials weren’t as good as the ones he made, the capabilities were almost equivalent.

Hill pondered silently for a while, figuring Fran wouldn’t criticize him for extravagance over such a matter.

Even though he had become an Alchemist Master, Hill was inherently biased in his studies and not skilled in Fire Element Laws, so achieving this level was quite good.

Fran only cared whether Hill could achieve it, not how he managed to do so.

He returned to the study, and shortly after, Lynn came running in again.

Although Hill implicitly allowed him to say whatever he wanted... the anger was still uncontrollable... but seeing the homemade sausages in Lynn’s hand...

Hill understood Lynn’s hint. When he dug up embarrassing stories about his friends from Lynn’s mother’s mouth upon entering Lynn’s family, he should have anticipated today’s outcome.

Hill silently dissipated the gray glow flickering in his hand: He really wanted to cast a Joy Spell on Lynn, so he would laugh as brilliantly today as he did yesterday in front of Fran.

Indeed, people without foresight have immediate worries.

But at the time, how could he have expected Fran to appear in Toril? Clearly, from the distance to Teraxil, if walking among the stars, Fran might take hundreds of years to reach this world.

Who would have thought he would run into a Star Spirit capable of universe jumping!

Hill sighed softly.

”Where did you put Terry’s room?” Lynn sat unceremoniously on the sofa and asked about what he most cared about.

Previously, the top floor was Terry’s large room, a huge space where the Little Dragon could stretch its body in its prototype form, which was entirely different from where Fran currently resided.

Lynn also thought Hill wouldn’t revoke Terry’s right to reside in this floating castle.

Hill pointed to the structure between the two annexes: ”I built an addition after that, and both your room and Terry’s were moved there. Rest assured, I won’t casually change the rooms arranged for you.

However, Grandfather doesn’t suit living too close to me; we both like alchemy.”

Lynn nodded with satisfaction: ”That’s good, otherwise Terry would cry.” Now being closer to Hill’s room, that Little Golden Dragon would be even happier.

”You didn’t just come to ask about this, did you?” Hill asked curiously.

”After you entered that strange gray mist, I received inquiries from many countries. They want to know what exactly happened inside, and whether the Maztika Continent is still okay... but I heard from Master Fran that it has become a continent of Aber?”

”Yes,” Hill nodded, ”possibly during the world regrouping, the two-dimensional worlds fused at some point, resulting in an exchange between Maztika and Aber’s Lalakond Continent.

You can inform other countries and forces of this matter, but also remind them that even though that continent sounds attractive, without spatial ability or enough defense, people cannot enter at all.

Even wearing a Dragon Armor, an Ancient Dragon can’t get through.

”I can do it because I have special means, which... I don’t need to share with anyone.”

Lynn nodded, ”I understand. I’ll exchange intelligence with the Harpist; it’s not necessary to give such important information for free. They’re just an intelligence agency now, no longer our allies... Recently, they’ve been concentrating on tracking the Goddess of Magic’s whereabouts.

Based on past experiences, after the fall of deities, there’s almost always news within a year... but even her Chosen have no feeling until now... not even a call in their dreams.

The Harpist and Kelben’s intelligence agency are quite anxious.”

Hill couldn’t help but smile, Lynn must be quite pleased about it. But he won’t bother with such matters; Lynn can decide on his own.

”The elves of Mulan want...” Lynn’s words were interrupted by Hill.

”I know about this matter.” Hill said indifferently, ”They intercepted Purwell when I passed by, I agreed, but there are conditions.”

Lynn listened to Hill outline the restrictions given to the elves, and breathed a light sigh of relief.

He leaned back on the sofa, looking helpless, ”In no more than ten years, the world will return to normal, and the debts owed now... who knows if they’ll be repaid then.”

Hill laughed carelessly, ”If they go too far, remember to hint to those offended by them to ask the Undead Tribe for help in repaying them.

Rest assured, they absolutely won’t spare the elves any face.”

Lynn couldn’t help but twitch his mouth; he’d rather not handle this sort of thing himself. If it really becomes necessary, he can ask the little fairies to step in—they dare to say anything.

”Will that mountain range really be turned into a prison in the future?” Lynn was a bit puzzled, ”Is there no other use for it?”

”It’s a very pure Earth mountain range.” Hill supported his chin with one hand, looking at the mountain in the distance from the castle, ”High-demand plants can’t grow at all; just spread moss and wild grass seeds for two years!

Anyway, there aren’t any mineral veins, at most plant some fruit trees later, but for now, it’s unnecessary—the resources of Green Forest are more than we can use.”

Lynn could only accept this reality, then requested Hill to make some modifications inside.

After Hill removed the door, Lynn already went to see that cavern; although it’s quite large, it’s not suitable for detaining elves.

Lynn thinks that the number of elves going in there won’t be small in the future. At least suppress them for a few years, and they might become a bit more compliant; elves will keep making mistakes until they’re disciplined.

Elves who make different mistakes shouldn’t be confined to the same place; otherwise, they’d fight inside the prison too, mocking each other’s stupidity.

These are all minor matters, Hill can handle them anytime; he not only has fragments of space crystals in hand, but also many illusion magic array-made slabs.

He can even let them live in single rooms, knowing others are nearby but unable to see them... suffocating these impulsive fools!

Lynn mentioned some matters about Luskan... The Undead Tribe naturally all ran over there, restoring Agleya to its former tranquility, with many merchant caravans seizing this opportunity to come over for trade.

Excessive curiosity from the Undead Tribe made many merchants who like smuggling miserable; traders in Toril doubling as raiders and slave traders abound, even if a caravan isn’t so shady, it might have problematic underlings, and who doesn’t have some dirty dealings!

Hence, after the Undead Tribe occupied the entrance of World’s Ridge in Luskan, not a single merchant caravan was there for a period.

Until a few days ago when the Undead Tribe opened shipping routes between Mirar River and Riven River.

Just as Hill expected, the elves of Hidden Forest had no intention to reject the idea of these Teraxil elves opening trade routes.

They even urgently participated in the operation of this trade route, collectively moving beside the transshipment lake.

Seeing Hill’s surprised look, Lynn gave a bitter smile, ”They’re not the legendary Wood Elves... They’re part of the Mithril and Gold Elves who returned to Ferun from the starry sky at some unknown time.

They’ve always been reclusive, not interacting with anyone... but the Magic Plague this time made them a bit fearful, so they decided to follow you.

For Mithril Elves, only Coron’s descendants are worthy of respect, and those Gold Elves fled to the Star Elves’ Outer Plane fortress due to the Crown Wars, so they wouldn’t compete with Mithril Elves for dominance.”

Hill sighed helplessly, ”Whatever! Ultimately, it’s only nominal... as if they’d really listen to me.”

These elves must have been attracted by the strength of the Teraxil Elves... then used Hill as a convenient name to leverage.

Otherwise, what if the elves of Mulan want to incorporate them?

These secluded elves definitely dislike conflict.

Moreover, elves who left Ferun during the Crown Wars definitely wouldn’t have been allied with the Empire forces of Mulan.

In the end, they’re just looking for a safe haven; Hill’s already used to it.
