Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1037: Chapter 602: Joining the Crew (Part 2)

To be honest, they had previously worked together on the movie ”Warm Little Horse,” although in this film, they didn’t have any scenes together, nor did they even meet.

Zhou Yun was the first to join the team.

She wanted to take the opportunity to go through the script again with Director Kang Xin from start to finish.

The TV series ”Chen Yin” tells the story of a young girl who unexpectedly becomes suspected of murdering her college classmate and must cooperate with the police to investigate the matter.

When Zhou Yun read the script, she felt a tingling sensation on her scalp.

Because the character of Chen Yin is too tormented, and throughout almost every episode of the script, there’s a sense of relentless suffering.

The environment she is in and the people she faces show little kindness.

Neither her mother nor her classmates show her any mercy.

Chen Yin has to give her all to prove her innocence under such circumstances.

After the initial tingling sensation, Zhou Yun felt a mix of shivers and excitement.

Because the character presents a significant challenge, with dramatic emotional swings, overflowing moments of crying, and the sudden glimmer of light penetrating through...

Zhou Yun was very much looking forward to playing this role.

Director Kang Xin took her to see several main shooting locations, mainly the house where she and her mom live, the school campus, and the secret hut associated with Chen Jing’s character.

”We don’t have much content in this drama; originally, I wanted to shoot sequentially, but after trying to arrange it, it’s not realistic,” Director Kang Xin said to Zhou Yun. ”I’ll focus on filming the scenes between you and Jiang Yuzhen first.”

”Concentrate on shooting the scenes between me and Yuzhen?” Zhou Yun was a bit surprised.

In the drama, Jiang Yuzhen plays her mother, and they have many scenes together with very intense emotional fluctuations.

Director Kang Xin said, ”Yes, she doesn’t have much time for us; she has other dramas to shoot later, so we need to focus on filming her scenes first.”

Zhou Yun understood.

”Alright, I have no problem with that.”

Since winning an award for ”Heart Inquiry,” Jiang Yuzhen has quickly become highly sought after by producers.

In some ways, Jiang Yuzhen is as popular in the TV industry as Zhou Yun is. There is only one female lead in each drama, but there are many supporting actresses.

Jiang Yu is currently enjoying a high level of popularity with audiences, and everyone is eager to invite her to play roles in their productions.

That’s how the film industry works; once a hit show comes out, its actors become highly sought after by other production teams.

That night, Jiang Yuzhen joined the team and checked into the hotel.

Initially, only her and Jiang Yuzhen’s scenes were filmed; other actors had not joined the team.

Zhou Yun took the initiative to greet Jiang Yuzhen.

Jiang Yuzhen was not wearing makeup, dressed simply, and was taking medicine.

Standing at the door, Zhou Yun noticed her taking medicine and was a little surprised. She asked, ”Yuzhen, are you feeling unwell?”

Jiang Yuzhen explained, ”Oh, no, it’s just a nutritional supplement. As people get older and with being so busy lately, I need to take something to supplement myself; otherwise, I can’t handle all the upcoming work.”

Zhou Yun: ”Please don’t work too hard.”

”No way, it’s just that we have old friends in the industry asking for help, and I can’t refuse.” Jiang Yuzhen waved her hand, looking at Zhou Yun, and smiled brightly, ”I’ve been following your news closely; you were just recently visiting the United States.”

Zhou Yun sat next to Jiang Yuzhen, nodded, and said, ”I just returned from the United States not long ago.”

”Why didn’t you bring back an award?” Jiang Yuzhen asked.

Zhou Yun laughed, ”I’ll work on it next time.”

Jiang Yuzhen nodded and said, ”That’s more like it; you are representing China’s best actress, so it’s not enough to just get a nomination, unlike what people say online. Why should a Chinese actress be content with just a nomination? If we aim for something, we should aim for the award!”

Jiang Yuzhen encouraged Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun understood that this was Jiang Yuzhen’s way of expressing her care and support.

”Thank you, Yuzhen.”

”It’s quite a coincidence; I just finished working with Song Chi on the last drama, and now I’m working with you again. Ever since ’Heart Inquiry,’ I’ve been circling around you guys,” Jiang Yuzhen laughed. ”By the way, why haven’t I seen Song Chi? He didn’t come with you today?”

”He has work today; he’ll be here tomorrow,” Zhou Yun said.

”I thought so,” Jiang Yuzhen nodded. ”I see that you rarely get a chance to spend time together; he hasn’t been filming recently.”

”Oh, we’re both too busy,” Zhou Yun said helplessly. ”Sometimes I wonder if we’re dedicating too much of our time to work.”

”You’re young and have plenty of time; why waste it on work instead of love?” Jiang Yuzhen said. ”There’s no need; if you like each other, you like each other—not, then you don’t. Cherish the time you have together; there’s nothing more important than that. If you spend too much time together, it’ll become annoying.”

Zhou Yun laughed.

Jiang Yuzhen: ”Don’t laugh; I’m serious. When two people are together, it’s most afraid of growing tired of each other.”

”Yes.”

”Being apart more than together isn’t great, but like this, you go spend time with him, he comes to spend time with you—you won’t go several months without seeing each other. It’s quite good,” Jiang Yuzhen said. ”You young folks are people I’ve watched for a long time; you’re reliable young people without any showy tricks. While you’re young, seize and push forward in your careers, don’t waste such good opportunities, especially since you’ve both already reached heights others haven’t. It would be such a shame to lose momentum now; if I had such talent and opportunity, I would definitely push myself to see how high I could reach.”

Zhou Yun understood Jiang Yuzhen’s meaning.

”Yuzhen, I got it,” Zhou Yun smiled. ”I’ll work hard, and you keep an eye on me and guide me.”
