Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 936: Chapter 576: Negative Consequences_3

She originally thought He Wenyun was a beneficiary of Yuehai, and if it wasn’t for being valued by Yuehai, how could she have parachuted in to act in this drama. But He Wenyun surprisingly directly criticized Yuehai’s special mechanism, which astonished Zhou Yun.

”But fortunately, they’re not overseeing us yet,” Yuk Chu said.

However, the impact of Huang Zhong’s visit soon became apparent.

He didn’t know what he reported to Yuehai, but the result was a noticeable decline in work environment and quality of life.

There were no changes on Zhou Yun’s end, but the staff and other minor actors’ treatment was not as good as before.

Previously, almost every actor was provided a private car to travel to and from the set, but now except for Zhou Yun, Yuk Chu, He Wenyun, and a few veteran actors, the other actors could only take the crew’s bus to and from locations like the set, hotel, and dressing room.

On another front, before the set always had fruit stands and snack bars because often the crew members couldn’t eat on time due to filming, missing meal times, with boxed meals getting cold, these were provided for everyone to fill up anytime.

All these were canceled, leading to much dissatisfaction.

Xu Jinbo never explained anything, but rumors spread throughout the crew, and almost everyone knew it was related to Huang Zhong’s last ”inspection.”

Soon, it was said that Yuehai believed their crew was being too extravagant, so they ordered Xu Jinbo to control spending on such matters.

In fact, how much could these expenses be?

They were using the least cost to give everyone a good impression.

From an objective point of view, actors commuting by bus is indeed nothing much, and a bus can be taken. But actors have to perform in front of the camera, with many needing to run between the A and B groups, squeezing on a bus with others back and forth, not to mention, it always affects their condition.

Zhou Yun felt particularly speechless.

But though complaints were numerous, Xu Jinbo remained unmoved. This surprised Zhou Yun; she had originally thought that even if Xu Jinbo couldn’t agree with Yuehai’s decision on this matter, he would still fulfill his responsibility as a producer to soothe everyone’s emotions, since that would help keep the crew relatively stable.

Why did Xu Jinbo allow the negative emotions to continue fermenting?

Zhou Yun had a guess in her heart.

...

Yuehai is divided into different departments, responsible for different businesses, with each different business having a vice president assigned.

In the area of film and television content production, the person in charge at Yuehai is Jiang Dingliang.

Generally speaking, Jiang Dingliang is responsible for the big direction of content production and wouldn’t handle specific dramas.

Jiang Dingliang is almost considered one of the most powerful executives at Yuehai.

After all, Yuehai is a video platform, and film and television content is its largest content segment.

Whether it’s Huang Zhong or Xu Jinbo, they have to listen to Jiang Dingliang within Yuehai.

The budget for each drama, how much support it receives, Jiang Dingliang’s attitude is crucial.

It’s just that those in high positions rarely appear in front of people.

Zhou Yun had only met Jiang Dingliang once. That meeting was when she went to Yuehai to formally confirm her role in the drama ”Deep Sea,” and Jiang Dingliang, as one of Yuehai’s representatives, met her. In Zhou Yun’s impression, Jiang Dingliang was very much the ”executive” type, leaving no special impression on her.

So when Jiang Dingliang suddenly came to her, she was slightly taken aback.

”Miss Zhou, today I came to find Jinbo, and learned that your scene is being shot, so I wanted to see you,” Jiang Dingliang smiled at Zhou Yun. ”I wonder if everything is going smoothly with your filming?”

Zhou Yun glanced at Xu Jinbo standing behind Jiang Dingliang, the latter’s expression perfectly normal, without any anomalies.

She couldn’t tell if Jiang Dingliang’s sudden appearance was like Huang Zhong’s surprise inspection, so she wasn’t sure what she should say.

But thinking of Xu Jinbo’s ”indulgence” of the crew’s grievances over the past couple of days, Zhou Yun hesitated for a moment and decided to speak honestly.

”Everything is going well on my end, but to be honest, Mr. Jiang, I actually don’t really like receiving special treatment in the crew,” Zhou Yun said. ”When word gets out, it seems like I have high demands, which isn’t good for my professional image. Actually, I don’t see myself as receiving any abnormal treatment, yet in this crew, it suddenly becomes abnormal.”

”Hmm?” Jiang Dingliang seemed not to have expected Zhou Yun to say such things and was surprised for a moment, ”Miss Zhou, why not explain it in detail?”
