Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 934: Chapter 576: Negative Consequences

On the matter of the extras, Huang Zhong found nothing on set to exploit, and eventually gave up without saying anything.

The normal filming schedule couldn’t be delayed.

Perhaps because of his work relationship, Xu Jinbo seemed to bow down a bit in front of Huang Zhong.

Cui Xidong also found it hard to offend Huang Zhong due to his long-term relationship with Yuehai.

However, Zhou Yun didn’t need to acknowledge Huang Zhong. Zhou Yun being as accommodating as she was today was already giving face to both Yuehai and Huang Zhong. If it were up to Zhou Yun and her standards for a production team, she particularly disliked people like Huang Zhong barging into the set under the guise of inspection.

Or let’s say if you must inspect, supervise the crew’s work and progress by all means, but don’t interfere with their normal operations.

Zhou Yun hoped to minimize situations where everyone has to stop to entertain such interruptions.

They were there to shoot a film, not engaged in some kind of entertainment service.

Seeing Huang Zhong wasting more time, Zhou Yun spoke up.

”Director Cui, are we still shooting this morning? If not, I’ll head back to the hotel to rest.” Zhou Yun said with a smile, ”Catch a nap.”

Huang Zhong glanced at Zhou Yun.

”Xiao Yun, are you reminding me that I’m delaying your shoot?” He laughed, ”Looks like I’m truly not a welcomed presence here.”

”Don’t say that, President Huang, how could that be?” Zhou Yun sighed, her expression a bit innocent, ”It’s just that if we’re not shooting, I might as well go rest. After all, you’re here to check things out, which has nothing to do with me, right? You know I’m quite lazy.”

Huang Zhong chuckled twice.

”That would be wasteful, Xiao Yun, you’re so valuable. If you’re delayed for half a day, that would be such a waste.” Huang Zhong said, ”I’ll be doing my thing, you can do yours, we won’t interfere with each other.”

”That would be perfect then.” Zhou Yun smiled warmly, ”After such a long break, to finally find such a good script to collaborate with Yuehai again, we must cooperate well.”

...

Liu Linglu quietly stood behind the crowd with her fellow actor Xu Lingyue.

They weren’t close to the core group, so they felt more relaxed.

Liu Linglu said to Xu Lingyue: ”Look at Sister Xiao Yun, she’s so strong, even when facing Huang Zhong she smiles and sarcastically points out he’s delaying us.”

Xu Lingyue also seemed somewhat envious. He focused keenly on Zhou Yun in front, and softly said, ”Only she dares to speak to President Huang like that, we wouldn’t dare.”

Liu Linglu nodded.

Both of them were signed actors under Yuehai, still very young.

And since they belonged to Yuehai, they were well aware of Huang Zhong’s high standing in the past, and how no actor dared to offend him.

Yet today, someone did, and it was an actor even Huang Zhong had to tolerate and smile at.

This scene today was deeply imprinted in their minds.

They couldn’t help but daydream about becoming actors of Zhou Yun’s caliber one day, imagining what that would be like.

”Do you think we’ll have a chance to be as impressive as Zhou Yun one day?” Liu Linglu asked hopefully.

Xu Lingyue shook his head, ”I’d rather not indulge in such a fantasy.”

Liu Linglu sighed, ”Indeed.”

...

Huang Zhong and his entourage left, off to who knows where to conduct ”inspections.”

Zhou Yun and the rest were able to continue their filming.

While waiting for the scene, Yuk Chu quietly asked Zhou Yun: ”Do you have a grudge with Huang Zhong?”

”Not really a grudge, why do you ask?”

”I saw you being so disrespectful to him earlier, and thought you two had a history.” Yuk Chu said, ”Huang Zhong is an executive at Yuehai, also producing films on his own. Now he’s implementing this inspection system, also overseen by him. Aren’t you afraid of offending him? What if he sabotages your film later?”

”He doesn’t have the ability to mess with ’Deep Sea’, I’ve given him enough face. I’m not happy with him bringing his system to ’Deep Sea’.” Zhou Yun waved off Yuk Chu, ”Right now, only I in the entire crew can do this. He wouldn’t dare to pull any tricks with me. If he did, it’d be like crushing an iceberg after barely thawing relations with Yuehai. He’s not stupid enough to risk a loss like that.”

”But it’s better to offend a gentleman than a scoundrel; what if he finds a chance to catch you off guard later? Wouldn’t it be a loss for no gain?” Yuk Chu said, ”I just think, no matter how Yuehai runs things internally, it doesn’t really impact you. There’s no need to make an enemy over something trivial, you understand what I mean?”
