Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 920: Chapter 571: About the Crew, About the Actors (5)

Xu Caiqin is indeed a fan of Zhou Yun; she personally has a preference for girls who like to read.

But she didn’t lose her mind just because she liked Zhou Yun and buy all the shows starring Zhou Yun.

An experienced film buyer needs to find their target films based on their own market.

She heard that Zhou Yun was about to shoot a life suspense film, and immediately became interested. She contacted Xu Jinbo for a more detailed story outline, confirmed that this type of story was one liked by the people of Hong Kong, and then expressed her intention.

This dinner, Zhou Yun and Xu Caiqin had a very pleasant chat.

Through talking with Xu Caiqin, Zhou Yun could tell that Xu Caiqin is someone who is very passionate about this industry.

Anyone who brings passion into their work knows how powerful it can be if the two are truly combined.

Xu Caiqin shared many of her experiences in the industry with Zhou Yun, including both dangers and surprises.

People who have really experienced things and have stories to tell always have engaging stories to share.

The environmental changes Zhou Yun has experienced are actually not even one-tenth of those experienced by the Hong Kong market.

”Actually, the Hong Kong market is still too small,” she said. ”I often think that if I had a bigger platform, I might perform even better.”

Zhou Yun pondered thoughtfully.

She had just heard from Song Chi recently that the head of his company’s content department had been poached by someone else and they are currently looking for a suitable person to take over.

The importance of a head of the content department in a film production company goes without saying.

Zhou Yun merely had this thought, but immediately dismissed it.

Xu Caiqin knows the Hong Kong film market very well, but that experience doesn’t translate well to the mainland.

Zhou Yun and Xu Caiqin added each other on WeChat.

Xu Caiqin said, ”Next time you come to Hong Kong, tell Sister Qin. Sister Qin knows many good places that are unknown to most foreigners and will take you there.”

Zhou Yun nodded with a smile, ”Sure.”

The two had such an engaging conversation that Xu Jinbo barely said a word the whole night.

But he didn’t mind. As long as Xu Caiqin was happy and ended up buying this film, without dropping out halfway, he didn’t mind not speaking the whole night.

After sending off Xu Caiqin, Xu Jinbo smiled at Zhou Yun and said, ”I noticed you didn’t eat much earlier. Do you want to grab something to eat?”

Because of Xu Caiqin’s habit of not eating at night, she hadn’t touched her chopsticks, causing Zhou Yun and Xu Jinbo to eat little as well.

Zhou Yun was indeed a bit hungry.

”Is there any place nearby where I can get some porridge? I’d like to have some porridge.”

During filming, Zhou Yun didn’t dare to eat too much either.

She still needed to maintain her figure.

Xu Jinbo nodded, as he knows this area much better than Zhou Yun.

He led Zhou Yun through twists and turns until they reached a small roadside café.

”This place serves snacks; they have porridge, soup dumplings, and noodles. See what you feel like eating,” Xu Jinbo said, pointing to the menu above.

”Xiao Yun? Producer Xu?”

A familiar voice suddenly sounded.

Zhou Yun and Xu Jinbo looked closely and found it was Yuk Chu.

Yuk Chu was sitting at a table alone with a serving of soup dumplings in front of him.

Zhou Yun, pleasantly surprised, went over and asked, ”Why are you out here having a late-night snack by yourself?”

”Oh, I just woke up, feeling very hungry, so I came out to find something to eat.” Yuk Chu laughed, glanced at Xu Jinbo, and asked, ”Did you two bump into each other on the way, or...?”

”We had something to discuss earlier, and my stomach was growling, so we’re here to eat something.”

Xu Jinbo greeted Yuk Chu, ”I’ll go order something, you two chat first.”

Zhou Yun said, ”A bowl of green bean porridge is enough for me.”

”Okay,” Xu Jinbo nodded.

Suddenly, Yuk Chu asked quietly, ”Did you know that Producer Xu just got divorced last month?”

Zhou Yun widened her eyes in surprise, ”What? Really? Who did you hear it from?”

”From people in the crew; I don’t know if it’s true or not, but everyone’s saying it is,” Yuk Chu said. ”You really can’t tell.”

”Huh?”

”Wasn’t that the busiest time for him a month ago? I heard that it was the busiest time a month ago, with him having to make decisions and sign off on everything; yet, he still managed to get the divorce done at that time.”

”Going to the civil affairs bureau is not a big deal. It’s not like they decided to get divorced only a month ago and then processed it right away,” Zhou Yun looked at Xu Jinbo’s back as he was scanning his phone to pay. ”It’s his personal life, whether he’s married or divorced. From my interactions with him so far, he’s quite reliable, very capable, and doesn’t mess people around. There are some producers whose hearts are black and hands are dirty.”
