Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 949: Chapter 581: Change (Part 2)

Zhou Yun said, ”Are you in your first year of middle school or second year? If I remember correctly, the stuff you’re learning now shouldn’t be too hard, right? So how did you become a ’school slacker’? Seeing your arrogant attitude on set, I thought you were a smart kid.”

”You’re the slacker!” Xu Zixiang retorted with some empty-headed banter against Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun was waiting for this moment.

She smiled slightly, ”This slacker got into University A. Can you get in?”

”Why wouldn’t I?” Xu Zixiang quickly replied.

”With your grades, you won’t get in even in your next life.”

Xu Zixiang: ”That’s because I don’t feel like studying now. When I decide to, it’ll be a piece of cake.”

”I won’t even mention ’a piece of cake’. With your grades, let’s see if you can make it to the top ten in your class on the next test,” Zhou Yun goaded. ”Otherwise, by the time your dad wants to transfer you to Shanghai, no schools there will even want a slacker like you.”

Xu Zixiang’s eyes suddenly lit up, ”My dad wants to transfer me?”

”Ask him yourself. Why are you asking me?” Zhou Yun said, ”But with your current grades, even if your dad wants to transfer you, it’d be like trying to cook without rice.”

Xu Zixiang pursed his lips and fell into deep thought.

Seeing her words had an effect, Zhou Yun felt it was time for her to ”leave after accomplishing her task.”

A few days later, Xu Zixiang disappeared from the set.

Yuk Chu even asked where the kid had gone.

The answer was, he went back to school.

Hearing this, Zhou Yun smiled slightly, feeling a bit pleased.

Yuk Chu said, ”That little brat, he left without even saying goodbye.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”What, are you going to miss him?”

”He’s a little handsome guy, nice to see,” Yuk Chu said candidly.

Zhou Yun: ”...”

Xu Zixiang leaving the ”Deep Sea” crew of course didn’t affect the filming.

It just meant one less hot-tempered young boy and one less source of amusement in daily life.

One afternoon, Xu Jinbo came to find Zhou Yun and asked, ”What did you say to my son? He went back to school all fired up and told me if he makes it to the top ten in the class next time, I have to fulfill my promise. What did I promise?”

Zhou Yun laughed twice and said, ”I said his grades were too poor, that even if his dad wants to transfer him to Shanghai, no school would want him, and he just happily went back to school?”

Xu Jinbo: ”...”

Zhou Yun said, ”Producer Xu, your son wants to live with you. You’d better work hard to make his wish come true.”

Xu Jinbo sighed.

”I’m hardly ever home. If he transfers to Shanghai, there’s no one to take care of him.”

”Why not bring his grandparents over too?” Zhou Yun said, ”It’s not like you’re short on money, right?”

With someone like Xu Jinbo, a big-time producer, money was definitely not an issue.

Xu Jinbo shook his head and lamented, ”I have several more films lined up. How can I find the time to accompany him?”

”You don’t need to be with him 24/7. If you really had that much free time, even your son would find it annoying,” Zhou Yun said. ”It’s just a matter of calling him when you’re free, visiting his school when you can, and showing more care. It’s up to whether you want to do it or not.”

Xu Jinbo nodded, clicking his tongue, ”I finally understand why Song Chi made time to visit the set.”

”Stop it,” Zhou Yun denied with a stern face. ”I didn’t ask him to come. It’s different.”

Xu Jinbo sighed, ”Kids are hard to raise.”

”Of course they are. Did you think it’s like having a pet? Even pets need to be fed on time.”

...

That day, Zhou Lan suddenly came to the set.

Zhou Yun was a bit surprised because Zhou Lan hadn’t said anything before coming.

”Why did you come all of a sudden?”

”I happened to meet someone around here, and after that, I came to see you,” Zhou Lan brought some bread and cakes that Zhou Yun liked. ”Plus, I need to discuss some work arrangements with you.”

Zhou Yun tilted her head back and sighed, ”Work again, I knew it wouldn’t be that simple.”

Zhou Lan smiled and said, ”Don’t sigh, it’s not even time for that yet. Mainly, there are some brand endorsement events that you must attend.”

”Okay.”

”Also, the contract for ’Female Assassin’ officially came in,” Zhou Lan said. ”The legal department is reviewing the contract, and if there are no issues, this film is scheduled to start shooting next year.”
