Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 950: Chapter 581: Change (Part 3)

”We’re going to have action training again.” Zhou Yun sighed.

Zhou Lan made a sound of acknowledgment.

”Action scenes aren’t really a challenge for you. I went to see the footage of ’Two Tigers,’ and you fought beautifully in it. Wen Bing sure knows how to shoot. Just your entrance scene alone—I have a feeling it’ll become a classic. The camera work was incredible,” Zhou Lan said. ”No wonder he wants to make a spin-off with this character and shoot ’Female Assassin.’ Audiences will definitely be impressed by how cool your character is.”

”Really?” Zhou Yun hadn’t seen the footage herself yet.

Zhou Lan said, ”Trust me, it will definitely be well-received.”

Zhou Yun said, ”You’ve got me really looking forward to it myself.”

”The movie is scheduled for release during the Chinese New Year, right?” Zhou Lan asked.

Zhou Yun nodded.

It had been mentioned before.

”Regarding the roadshows, I’ve already talked to Yao Yuanfeng’s side. We’ll just participate in the premiere and online promotions, but not the roadshows,” Zhou Lan said. ”Besides this, there are a few other projects I need to update you on. ’Falling Leaves’ is aiming for a shot at the Berlin Film Festival. We’re not sure about the results yet, but the chances of getting in are quite high. We’ll definitely need to attend the Berlin Film Festival when the time comes.”

Zhou Yun nodded.

”’Four Killers’ is in post-production, and ’Under the Grand Dress’ has been submitted for approval. It’s expected to air by the end of the year or early next,” Zhou Lan said. ”There will be a busy period of promotions coming up, not to mention ’Behind the Scenes’ is vying for the Oscars in the United States. If that goes smoothly, we’ll really have our hands full. I kind of hope Director Kang Xin can delay the start of filming over there.”

”Hey, don’t say anything to Director Kang. Don’t affect him,” Zhou Yun said. ”He’s been waiting until now just to accommodate my schedule.”

”Of course, I know that. It’s just a thought,”

Zhou Lan said. ”Next year, we definitely need to arrange our schedule better. We can’t join film projects so intensely back-to-back.”

”For next year, the only confirmed film is ’Female Assassin,’ right?” Zhou Yun said. ”I don’t recall the other projects having set shooting times yet.”

”Don’t forget Mélando’s film,” Zhou Lan said. ”Although it’s planned to start at the end of next year, what if it starts earlier?”

”Let’s not worry about that yet,” Zhou Yun said. ”It’s not confirmed yet.”

Zhou Lan said, ”When do you plan to announce the news about Mélando’s new film?”

”We’ll see what Mélando’s side says,” Zhou Yun said. ”But it’s still early for filming, announcing it now is meaningless. Isn’t everyone more focused on that Hollywood blockbuster ’Chinese Warrior’? Have they finalized the casting yet?”

”Not yet.” Zhou Lan shook his head. ”The casting is going with great momentum, it feels like everyone wants a piece of the action.”

”For a blockbuster like that, even getting a role can label you as an international star.” Zhou Yun laughed. ”Did Wang Jing go for an audition?”

”He auditioned, but they rejected him directly.” Zhou Lan said helplessly, ”They felt Wang Jing’s resume was too shallow, not famous enough.”

”Alright.” Zhou Yun thought about it. Indeed, Wang Jing only had one film, ’Behind the Scenes,’ and it was as a supporting actress. For a blockbuster like ’Chinese Warrior,’ the recognition is still too low.

”I’ve heard that your current co-star, He Wenyun, has a decent chance,” Zhou Lan said. ”The Spielberg movie she starred in is set to release at the end of the year in the United States. Given the timing, it’s certain to aim for the Oscars.”

”Really?” Zhou Yun was a bit surprised.

”Paimon seems to like her. That’s what I’ve heard from people over there in the United States,” Zhou Lan said. ”She really should take note, she might become a strong competitor for you in international projects in the future.”

Zhou Yun: ”We’ll see.”

”Don’t just say that now. Japan, Korea, and Singapore have produced quite a few world-class directors, and international co-production projects have been increasing over the years. If they make a film and want to cast a Chinese actress, wouldn’t you want them to choose you?” Zhou Lan said. ”I know you very well. You may say ’we’ll see’ now, but you’ll definitely not want to miss the chance to work with these masters when the time comes.”

”Alright, you got me.”

”If she really ends up starring in ’Chinese Warrior,’ then your film with Mélando will directly compete with hers,” Zhou Lan said. ”Both are Hollywood blockbusters, both are international Chinese stars, people will definitely compare the two of you. There’s no need to even think about it.”

Zhou Yun sighed helplessly and said, ”Why does there have to be a comparison? Can’t each just be beautiful in their own way?”

”Haha, competing in beauty and talent is what makes it exciting in spring.” Zhou Lan said, ”If you both shine, what will the media live off? Serenity and peace?”
