Chapter 938: Chapter 577: Counterattack (Part 2)

”I understand, but, Chuchu, there are some things that if I can do, I don’t want to stand by.” Zhou Yun said, ”I don’t want to be a meddlesome person, but you know? Ever since we were young, we’ve been taught that if you see injustice, you should stand up against it. We might not be able to risk our lives to save someone, or sacrifice our own interests to do something great, but within our capabilities, knowing what is right, what shouldn’t be tolerated, and what requires us to stand up and say ’No’, I hope I can reach that.”

Yuk Chu hesitated to speak.

After a long pause, she finally just sighed.

”I’m not as principled as you.”

”There’s no such thing as being more or less principled.”

”Sometimes I really admire you because you can do what I want to do but don’t dare to.” Yuk Chu said, ”In my heart, I totally agree with you and support you 100%, but I don’t dare to confront Huang Zhong openly like you do and hurt his pride.”

”I didn’t confront him head-on. I maintained a very good attitude from start to finish.” Zhou Yun shook her right index finger, ”But, Chuchu, I know you’re concerned about me, I understand what you mean, don’t worry, I certainly won’t impulsively get myself into trouble.”

Zhou Yun didn’t find Yuk Chu’s words unpleasant or annoying.

In fact, everyone can say pleasant words, but not everyone will speak the unpleasant truth.

Yuk Chu: ”I wonder if Producer Xu will be affected?”

”Affected? You mean the matter with the extras? Wasn’t that all explained clearly?”

”Explained, yes, but if Huang Zhong insists on making an issue out of it, saying that Producer Xu left his post to handle personal matters at a critical time, surely Producer Xu would be affected.” Yuk Chu told Zhou Yun, ”I heard from Xu Lingyue and Liu Linglu, both from Yuehai, say that Yuehai is particularly strict about these things. Even though Xu Jinbo is a big producer, he can’t bypass Yuehai’s management rules. The key is, you know? I also heard that there’s intense internal conflict within Yuehai, and it just so happens that Huang Zhong and Xu Jinbo belong to different camps.”

”This...” Zhou Yun frowned suspiciously, ”Then isn’t Yuehai afraid that a producer of Xu Jinbo’s caliber would leave? At Xu Jinbo’s level, his capability and connections definitely make other companies keep an eye on him. How could he be affected by such a trivial matter? Nothing serious has come out of it.”

Yuk Chu: ”I don’t know about that. Anyway, this is what I heard. It depends on how far Huang Zhong can take the issue.”

What Yuk Chu said made Zhou Yun lost in thought.

At noon, Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu had lunch together, still in Zhou Yun’s trailer.

Suddenly, He Wenyun came knocking on the door, looking for Zhou Yun.

The sunlight outside was glaring, enveloping He Wenyun in a golden glow, beautiful enough to dazzle.

”Can I join you for lunch?” She stood at the door, smiling at Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu, and asked.

”Sure, welcome.” Zhou Yun invited her up, ”Come on up.”

He Wenyun brought her own lunch box, boarded the trailer, sat down, glanced at the dishes on the table, and said in surprise, ”Wow, you have so many marinated dishes?”

”Yeah, my assistant made them.” Zhou Yun said, ”It’s pretty tasty, you should try some.”

He Wenyun nodded, saying, ”When I was in school, my favorite thing to eat was the marinated dishes sold at the school gate. I see you like them too.”

”Haha, basically, who doesn’t love them?” Zhou Yun said.

He Wenyun sighed and said, ”Yesterday I was still mad, thinking Cui Xidong, the director, is too rigid. Today, after meeting Huang Zhong, I understand why Cui Xidong shoots like that.”

”Aren’t you also signed with Yuehai? Didn’t you know about Yuehai’s style?” Yuk Chu asked.

He Wenyun shook her head, ”I just signed recently. If I had known Yuehai’s filming style was like this, I would have reconsidered. Today, seeing Huang Zhong like that, I can probably guess what kind of working style Yuehai’s film crew generally has under such a regulatory mechanism. What can be produced? They just do routine work.”

Zhou Yun saw that He Wenyun’s expression and tone were filled with displeasure towards Huang Zhong’s faction, which was somewhat unexpected.
