Chapter 935: Chapter 576: Negative Consequences (Part 2)

”I understand, but, Chuchu, there are some things that if I can do, I don’t want to stand idly by,” Zhou Yun said. ”I don’t want to be someone who meddles in others’ business, but you know? The education we received since childhood tells us to help when we see injustice. We may not be able to risk our lives to save someone, nor sacrifice our interests to do something great, but within our capabilities, what is right, what should not be tolerated, what requires us to stand up and say No, I hope I can achieve that.”

Yuk Chu wanted to speak but stopped.

After hesitating for a long time, she finally just sighed.

”I’m not as principled as you.”

”There is no such thing as more or less principled.”

”Sometimes I really admire you because you can do things I want to do but dare not,” Yuk Chu said. ”In my heart, my thoughts align with yours, I support you one hundred percent, but I don’t dare to outright confront Huang Zhong and embarrass him like you do.”

”I’m not confronting him, though. I have maintained a very good attitude from start to finish,” Zhou Yun shook his right index finger, ”But, Chuchu, I know you’re concerned about me, I understand your meaning, don’t worry, I definitely won’t impulsively get myself into trouble.”

Zhou Yun didn’t find Yuk Chu’s words unpleasant or irritating.

In fact, everyone can say pleasant things, but not everyone can speak the unpleasant truth.

Yuk Chu: ”I don’t know if Producer Xu will be affected?”

”Affected? Are you talking about the extras issue? Wasn’t that all clarified?”

”Explanation is one thing, but if Huang Zhong insists on making a fuss over it, accusing Producer Xu of leaving his post at a critical time to handle personal matters, Producer Xu will definitely be affected,” Yuk Chu told Zhou Yun. ”I heard it from Xu Lingyue and Liu Linglu, people from Yuehai. Yuehai is particularly strict about this. Even though Xu Jinbo is a big producer, he can’t bypass Yuehai’s regulations. The key is something else, you know? I also heard that there’s severe internal strife in Yuehai, and coincidentally, Huang Zhong and Xu Jinbo belong to different factions.”

”This...” Zhou Yun furrowed his brows in doubt. ”Doesn’t Yuehai fear a producer of Xu Jinbo’s caliber leaving? At his level, his skills and connections surely make other companies watch him, how could he be affected by such a trivial matter, especially when it hasn’t resulted in any real consequences.”

Yuk Chu: ”I don’t know about that, anyway, that’s what I heard. It depends on how far Huang Zhong can stretch this issue.”

What Yuk Chu said made Zhou Yun ponder deeply.

At noon, Zhou Yun had lunch with Yuk Chu, still in Zhou Yun’s trailer.

He Wenyun suddenly came knocking on the door, looking for Zhou Yun.

The sun outside was shining directly, making He Wenyun stand in a patch of golden sunlight, dazzlingly beautiful.

”Can I join you for lunch?” She stood at the door, smiling at Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu, asking.

”Sure, you’re welcome,” Zhou Yun invited her into the trailer, ”Come on up.”

He Wenyun brought her own lunchbox, sat down after getting on, and looked surprised at the dishes on the table, saying, ”Wow, there’s also so many braised dishes?”

”Yeah, my assistant made them,” Zhou Yun said. ”They taste pretty good, give it a try.”

He Wenyun nodded and said, ”When I was in school, my favorite food was the braised dishes sold at the school gate. So you guys like them too.”

”Haha, almost everyone likes them, right?” Zhou Yun said.

He Wenyun sighed and said, ”Yesterday I was still upset, thinking Cui Xidong is too rigid as a director. Today I met Huang Zhong and realized why Cui Xidong shoots like this.”

”Aren’t you signed with Yuehai too? Didn’t you know Yuehai’s style?” Yuk Chu asked.

He Wenyun shook her head, ”I just signed recently. If I knew Yuehai’s way of shooting was like this, I would’ve thought twice. Today, seeing Huang Zhong like that, I can guess what kind of style Yuehai usually has when making their productions. What can be made under such regular inspection mechanisms? Just some routine stuff.”

Zhou Yun noticed that He Wenyun’s expression showed clear displeasure towards Huang Zhong’s group, which surprised him.
