Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 946: Chapter 580: My Dad Is Looking for You_2

Now that Wang Jing is also up, she doesn’t need to go outside to exchange resources.

Zhou Yun thinks seriously.

Zheng Xiaojue said, ”I think Sister Xiao Yun, you can take a good rest for a while. You’ve won two Movie Queen awards this year, it’s already a great harvest. For the next few years, domestic Movie Queen titles basically won’t have your roles.”

Zheng Xiaojue speaks bluntly, without any reservation.

Zhou Yun nods.

”Alright, you’re right.”

Zhou Yun thinks that she really needs to slow down the pace of taking roles in the future.

She can’t continue like now, where she can’t give up any good role and ends up accepting them all.

The one exhausted is herself.

Besides, now Yuk Chu and Wang Jing have also reached the point where they can carry a lead female role.

Most crucially, Zhou Yun doesn’t want to devote all her time to work and lose her personal life.

Zhou Yun ponders this.

Xu Lingyue suddenly comes over.

”Sister Xiao Yun.” He calls her.

Zhou Yun comes back to her senses, looking at Xu Lingyue, ”Hmm?”

”Has Brother Chi left?” he asks.

Zhou Yun nods, saying, ”He has to work later, so he’s already left. Why? You have something to discuss with him?”

”No, I... I was thinking, if Brother Chi hasn’t left yet, I’d like to add him on WeChat face to face,” Xu Lingyue says, ”I really admire Brother Chi.”

Zhou Yun chuckles and says, ”If you want his WeChat, I’ll tell him and forward it to you.”

”Really? Can you?” Xu Lingyue asks surprisedly.

”Of course, why wouldn’t I? I’ll tell him now.” Zhou Yun says.

”Okay.” Xu Lingyue responds.

Zhou Yun talks to Song Chi and forwards the WeChat to Xu Lingyue.

”Thank you, Sister Xiao Yun!” Xu Lingyue says excitedly.

”You’re welcome.”

Xu Lingyue walks away happily.

Yuk Chu sits beside Zhou Yun with a cup of coffee and asks, ”What did Xu Lingyue want with you? Why is he suddenly so happy?”

Zhou Yun smiles, ”I just introduced him to Song Chi and added his WeChat, so he’s thrilled.”

”Oh, he idolizes him,” Yuk Chu glances at Xu Lingyue’s back, ”I realize many young male actors now look up to Song Chi as an idol. Really, if he keeps going like this, he’ll soon become a master of his generation.”

”Maybe not, his dramas in the last two years were only as popular as ’Heart Inquiry.’” Zhou Yun says, ”Speaking of which, since I got together with him, it feels like he’s been on a decline. Is it my bad luck affecting him?”

”Oh, come on!” Yuk Chu glares at Zhou Yun, ”What’s with your thinking? Song Chi has already reached a high status; there’s no higher place for him to go. It just seems like he’s not moving up, but you should consider if there’s room for growth.”

”Really?” Zhou Yun still wonders if dating her has brought bad luck to Song Chi.

”Moreover, there’s another thing: Since Song Chi started his company, many roles don’t invite him anymore,” Yuk Chu says, ”That’s what I’ve heard.”

Zhou Yun nods, ”It’s not that many roles don’t invite him; it’s that many people believe Song Chi will prioritize performing and promoting his own company’s productions. So when there are other options, they don’t prefer to invite him to act.”

Especially since Song Chi had two TV dramas released previously, both with average performance, not major hits, which led to industry speculation that his ability to lead a show has declined.

It’s something unavoidable.

As a leading role, the performance of your work is directly linked to you, regardless of what mainly caused the poor broadcast rating. If you, as the lead, couldn’t bring up the baseline, it suggests your audience affinity isn’t as strong as before.

This is also why Zhou Yun is currently the top choice for all film and television companies.

Because up to now, Zhou Yun has had no failures.

Every show is a great success, even those like ”Dingfengbo” with a bad reputation have outstanding ratings and viewership among peers.

If Zhou Yun ever has a flop, her infallible myth will break, and the fervor everyone has for her will immediately dissipate.

Yuk Chu says, ”Being in this ’Deep Sea’ with you is really a huge benefit for me. Not only did I get to play second lead for the first time, but because of it, many film and TV companies think highly of me, giving me female lead scripts. Sister Lan has already helped me secure two female lead TV series.”
