Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 912: Chapter 569: The Air-Dropped Girl (Part 2)

Zhou Yun didn’t expect that this screenwriter was also very quick with words, not giving an inch, each statement filled with veiled criticism of Liu Linglu for being an unqualified actress.

In fact, the doubt Liu Linglu raised was indeed a bit unreasonable.

Zhou Yun understood Liu Linglu’s reluctance to play such a negative role, but in film and television, it’s perfectly normal to have characters with bad images—even in ”My Fair Princess,” there are villains like the Empress and Nanny Rong. Liu Linglu might be too young to want to play a villain.

However, did Xu Jinbo not explain this to her clearly when he initially invited her to play the role?

Zhou Yun looked at Xu Jinbo with suspicion.

Xu Jinbo, caught by Zhou Yun’s questioning gaze, immediately coughed twice.

He tapped the table, drawing everyone’s attention to himself.

”Linglu, when I first approached you, I told you that you’d be playing a villain. You can’t throw a tantrum over the character’s personality setting; this isn’t the conduct of a mature actress.”

Liu Linglu’s eyes suddenly turned red.

She said, ”I’m not throwing a tantrum, but this isn’t what I imagined. I know I’m playing a villain, but I didn’t think I’d be playing such a stupid villain. When the drama airs, the audience will definitely tear me apart.”

Xu Jinbo didn’t expect Liu Linglu to pull this stunt at this time.

This put him in an awkward position.

The script reading had to be interrupted.

Everyone looked at Liu Linglu.

She seemed to feel immense pressure from their gazes and suddenly stood up, running out the door.

”Linglu!” Her assistant, seated in the back, was startled as she saw her running out and immediately chased after her.

The rest looked at each other in confusion.

The script reading was thereby interrupted.

Everyone began to discuss.

”Ah, young people nowadays are really different from our generation; they act as they please,” an experienced older actor said jokingly. ”Back in our day, we wouldn’t dare walk out on the spot.”

”Don’t say that; we weren’t necessarily better back then. It’s good that people can express their opinions freely now,” another seasoned actor said with a smile. ”Besides, young people often have moments they don’t understand; it’s good to talk things through properly.”

Xu Jinbo and Cui Xidong both went out, one after the other, to pacify Liu Linglu.

Yuk Chu shrugged at Zhou Yun, ”Didn’t expect that, huh.”

Zhou Yun chuckled, ”Ah, indeed, nothing ever goes smoothly.”

Half an hour later, Liu Linglu returned with Xu Jinbo and Cui Xidong.

She wore a slightly embarrassed expression on her face.

After the burst of emotion passed and remembering her impulsive outburst earlier, Liu Linglu felt very embarrassed, almost shamed.

Everyone didn’t show any strange expressions, treating the incident like a small interlude.

That evening, Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu didn’t eat in the canteen; instead, they went out for dinner with Xu Jinbo, Cui Xidong, and a few others.

Xu Jinbo organized a table of people; all were key and core figures in this production team.

This was his style of managing the team, liking to close in relations at the dinner table.

Zhou Yun didn’t put on airs; when everyone wanted to drink, she took a bottle of red wine.

”I’m not used to white wine; I’ll join you with some red wine; hope you don’t mind,” she said with a smile in advance.

Cinematographer Zuo Yuan laughed and said, ”That’s enough for us.”

It was hard to imagine asking a leading actress to drink with everyone at other production teams.

Xu Jinbo said, ”I’ve heard of your notorious capacity; seeing it today doesn’t disappoint.”

”Not at all, don’t believe the rumors outside. I only enjoy having a few drinks myself; when it comes to capacity, I’m really not good—how much can I handle?”

”Can’t say that; many appear not to drink but actually can handle quite a bit.”

”At least that’s not me,” Zhou Yun said. ”I know myself very well.”

”Hahaha,” Xu Jinbo gave Zhou Yun a thumbs-up. ”Knowing your limits is especially good in this circle—there are quite a few chaotic aspects, especially for actresses; you must learn to protect yourself.”
