Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 927: Chapter 573: Flawless Acting

Zhou Yun filmed until nine o’clock in the evening.

Yuk Chu also accompanied her in filming until nine o’clock.

”You’ve worked hard,” Zhou Yun said to Yuk Chu.

If it weren’t for Zhou Yun wanting to finish filming quickly, Yuk Chu wouldn’t have had to work so hard.

”Hard work? Not at all.” Yuk Chu shook her head, holding Zhou Yun’s hand, ”Filming with you is not hard at all, I’m really happy.”

The two of them went back to the hotel together.

”I originally thought of asking you out for a drink, but I’m a bit tired, I’ll go back to sleep and rest for tomorrow’s shoot.” At the hotel entrance, after getting out of the car, Yuk Chu yawned and said.

Zhou Yun nodded in agreement.

”Bye-bye.”

The two parted ways.

Zhou Yun walked towards her room when her phone buzzed twice with a new message.

It was a message from Ning Yao: Xiao Yun, I heard your new film started today, congratulations. I’m throwing a small party this Saturday; if you have time, do come and join us.

Upon seeing this message, Zhou Yun suddenly remembered that last month when she met Ning Yao, Ning Yao invited her to her birthday party.

Zhou Yun hurriedly told Zheng Xiaojue, ”Xiaoju, help me pick out a birthday present for Sister Ning Yao tomorrow.”

Zheng Xiaojue agreed.

She wasn’t sure if she’d have time on Saturday to attend, but the gift definitely needed to be ready.

”I can’t make it to Ning Yao’s birthday,” Song Chi said on the phone to Zhou Yun, ”I’ve already called her to explain. We’re having some troubles with ’Laissez-faire’, and some scenes need to be reshot. We’re trying to keep up with the schedule, just can’t get away.”

”Hmm? Reshooting? What’s wrong? Why do we need to reshoot?” Zhou Yun asked.

Song Chi sighed, ”Zhi Wei found a bug in the script and made some changes.”

”Huh?” Zhou Yun didn’t expect it to be because of this.

”Luckily it was discovered; otherwise, if the audience noticed it during release, it would be embarrassing.” Song Chi said, ”But this means we are under a lot more pressure during filming now. Ugh.”

”Hang in there, hang in there.” Zhou Yun smiled, ”It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you in a film. Didn’t you particularly like this script? Finding the bug in time is a good thing.”

”How about you? ’Deep Sea’ started today, was everything smooth?”

”Smoothly, I acted with He Wenyun today; she’s really good at acting,” Zhou Yun said, ”better than I initially anticipated.”

”That exaggerated?”

”Yeah.” Zhou Yun said, ”Let’s put it this way, because of her, my motivation got fired up.”

”Haha.” Song Chi said, ”With you saying that, I’m curious to see just how much better she is at acting.”

”If she can keep up this standard, I think Yuehai can push for her to win Best Supporting Actress; her chances are high.” Zhou Yun said, ”She possesses what I lack the most; no matter how she acts, she always has this relaxed composure.”

”Really? Then when I’m done with ’Laissez-faire’, if there’s a chance, I’ll come visit you guys on set and see for myself.” Song Chi said, ”But imagining someone better at acting than you, I find it quite difficult.”

”I’m not saying she acts better than me; it’s just that I know I’m indeed lacking in some areas where she does really well.”

”Hmm.” Song Chi said, ”No matter what, in my eyes, you’re the Best Actress.”

”Don’t suddenly say such cheesy things; I’m getting goosebumps!” Zhou Yun teased.

Song Chi: ”You really lack romance.”

”...” Zhou Yun took a deep breath and, with a sweet voice, said, ”Don’t say that, big brother~ big brother~”

There was no response from Song Chi’s side.

...

Zhou Yun went to sleep early and woke up early as well. Early in the morning, she went for a run to refresh, took a shower, and then went for breakfast.

Breakfast is vital; otherwise, there’s no energy for acting.

Liu Linglu was also in the restaurant.

She seemed surprised to see Zhou Yun and showed a hint of panic on her face.

Zhou Yun wondered why Liu Linglu seemed panicked upon seeing her.

”Sister Xiao Yun.” She greeted proactively.

Zhou Yun flashed a gentle smile at her and asked, ”Has your fever subsided?”

”Yes, it’s gone.” Liu Linglu replied, ”Much better now; I’m heading to the set to film soon.”

Zhou Yun nodded with a smile, ”That’s good. Next time it rains, remember to use an umbrella and don’t get drenched.”

”Hmm.” Liu Linglu nodded timidly.

Seeing her so nervous, Zhou Yun decided not to invite her for breakfast together. Otherwise, Liu Linglu might be even more anxious.

Zhou Yun pondered, wondering if she was now so intimidating to newcomers.

On the second day of filming, Cui Xidong stuck to the same filming style as yesterday.

No matter what situation arose, he showed no emotional change.

Throughout, he spoke and communicated placidly, tirelessly repeating things over and over.

Luckily this film didn’t have many large group scenes; otherwise, with smaller scenes, it would pass quickly.

After a full day, Zhou Yun realized that Cui Xidong hadn’t once called ”Cut” on her nor given any feedback on her acting, which made Zhou Yun feel particularly uneasy.

Zhou Yun pondered and decided to approach Cui Xidong for a chat.

”Director, do you have any opinions about my acting?” Zhou Yun asked and then smiled at Cui Xidong, showing her pearly whites. She tried to use this gesture to close the gap a little with Cui Xidong. After knowing him for so long, she found they hadn’t really gotten familiar, remaining strictly professional. ”I’ve been acting for two days now, but I noticed you haven’t commented on anything.”

Cui Xidong earnestly replied, ”You’re performing really well, no need for my feedback.”

”There’s no area that needs adjusting?” Zhou Yun said, ”I’m just acting based on my own ideas, not sure if it’s suitable, would need you to check.”

”I’ve watched it; I think it’s great.” Cui Xidong said, ”You and He Wenyun are both performing in line with my vision. Others may have some deviation, but you two are better than I imagined.”

Cui Xidong’s tone sounded sincere and was not meant to flatter.

This made Zhou Yun feel even more unsure.

Quite embarrassed.

Since Cui Xidong said so, she couldn’t just press him for feedback.

And hearing Cui Xidong’s tone, he seemed genuinely convinced her and He Wenyun’s acting was good, needing no comments.

Zhou Yun left feeling a bit down and, along the way, ran into Yuk Chu.

Yuk Chu noticed the disappointment on her face and found it strange, asking, ”What’s wrong with you?”

Zhou Yun sighed, explaining her disappointment to Yuk Chu.

Yuk Chu was taken aback, saying, ”Xiao Yun, you’re really demanding of yourself, aren’t you? The director has already said you performed really well, and you’re still picking on yourself? Seriously, I think Cui Xidong was completely right; you performed really well, flawless!”
