Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 899: Chapter 563: New Career Landscape (Part 4)

Zhou Yun: ”Don’t flatter me to the point of killing me, I know my own limits.”

He Yong laughed and said, ”I’m not trying to flatter you, I’m just relaying how people in the industry view you now.”

”Maybe I should start a class and teach everyone?” Zhou Yun joked.

Zhou Lan finished sending a message on his phone, turned off the screen, smiled and said, ”Classes take too much time, better to hold a seminar.”

Zhou Yun nodded, ”Can’t work for free though, knowledge should be paid for. Since the audience are all big bosses, why not sell tickets for 100,000 yuan each?”

Zhou Lan looked at He Yong and asked, ”President He, if that’s the price, would you buy a ticket?”

He Yong: ”As long as it’s your price, I’d definitely accept.”

They bantered meaninglessly for a while.

He Yong spread his hands, saying, ”Watching you rise to your position so quickly is incredible. I’m talking too much, but since entering this industry, managing Chengqian Entertainment for so long, only you have walked a legendary path in this era.”

”Achieving great success in a very short time easily creates the illusion of a legend,” Zhou Yun said, ”but I’m not fighting for overnight success, I’m in it for the long haul.”

He Yong nodded.

”Your mindset is very stable, even more stable than mine.”

Zhou Yun shook his head, ”Please don’t say that, I wouldn’t dare to accept such a compliment.”

He Yong said, ”You are undeniably the leading lady of Chengqian Entertainment now, no one can compete with you.”

”Hasn’t President He been actively promoting Zhang Mo recently?” Zhou Lan suddenly mentioned, ”When Xiao Yun acted with Zhang Mo before, she praised him very much.”

He Yong glanced at Zhou Lan, his gaze revealing some gratitude.

Zhou Yun noticed their eye contact and asked, ”Is there something you two want to tell me?”

Zhou Lan laughed and took the initiative to speak, ”President He has something to ask you for help with, but wasn’t sure how to bring it up. Let me speak straight, there’s nothing difficult about it. He wants to help Zhang Mo win a role in Director Kang Xin’s upcoming TV drama, but Zhang Mo isn’t very well-known, and many are competing for the role. He fears that even if Zhang Mo auditions, he won’t get enough attention. You have a good relationship with Director Kang, right? President He would like you to talk to Director Kang and see if Zhang Mo can get a chance to perform in that opportunity.”

Zhou Yun was a bit surprised, ”Does Director Kang have another TV drama coming up?”

”Director Kang is pushing seven or eight projects forward,” Zhou Lan said with a smile, ”President He is interested in an ancient costume suspense detective genre project.”

He Yong felt a bit helpless as Zhou Lan managed to finish saying it in just a few words.

”Zhang Mo’s acting is indeed good, if he can act in a big director’s drama, he’ll have more room to grow,” He Yong said, ”But the films and dramas we produce at Chengqian are mostly commercial themes, using Zhang Mo’s skills for these is a bit of a waste. If he’s lucky enough to play the lead in Director Kang Xin’s drama, his subsequent development will be much smoother.”

Zhou Yun understood what He Yong meant.

The film and television industry does indeed value lineage.

If you’re the lead in a major director’s film, great, everyone will hand you opportunities because they trust the director’s judgment.

Zhou Yun said, ”I can bring this up with Director Kang, just a formal audition opportunity, it’s not a problem.”

He Yong nodded.

”Under the Grand Dress has already completed the initial cut,” He Yong suddenly said, ”We plan to broadcast it during the winter holidays.”

Zhou Yun was a bit surprised, ”So soon?”

He Yong nodded, ”For modern costume dramas like this, post-production doesn’t need too much time, editing is relatively quick.”

Zhou Yun: ”Alright, I’ll cooperate with the promotion when the time comes.”

”I’m just worried you won’t be able to promote at that time,” He Yong said helplessly, ”You’ll be filming Director Kang Xin’s suspense drama then.”

Zhou Yun suddenly realized.

”Oh, right.”

Zhou Lan said, ”Xiao Yun’s schedule is indeed too tight, but it doesn’t matter, Under the Grand Dress is an ensemble show, it won’t lack artists to cooperate in the promotion.”

”Without the biggest celebrity, even more promotion is just a drop in the bucket.”

He Yong said, ”If possible, I really hope you could take on fewer roles.”
