Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 864: Chapter 549: Steadfast and Down-to-Earth (Part 3)

At this moment, Zhou Yun came in.

Xue Qin ended her conversation with Qiao Anshan and walked toward Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun smiled at her.

Xue Qin gave her a hug, ”I heard about what happened to you. Luckily, it turned out fine.”

”Yeah,” Zhou Yun nodded, ”I’m really grateful for that too.”

Xue Qin said, ”I heard you’re filming again in October.”

”Yes, it’s a project I’ve committed to before, can’t delay it. The later promotions will have to be up to you guys,” Zhou Yun said with some apology.

Xue Qin shook her head and said, ”There’s no way around it. Let’s see today’s feedback first. There might be some issues adapting it here.”

Only the director of this film would dare to say that.

However, Xue Qin’s concern was clearly unnecessary. The theme of ”Behind the Scenes” didn’t involve cultural background differences, focusing instead on one person’s self-destruction and rebuilding.

After the screening ended, everyone stood up and applauded for a full minute.

The media and film critics’ reviews were very positive.

At the party after the screening, Zhou Yun received treatment that was completely different from before.

Everyone approached her with expressions of astonishment and admiration, eager to engage her in conversation.

Especially a film critic Zhou Yun didn’t know, who praised her performance effusively and hoped to see her at this year’s Oscar ceremony.

Zhou Yun greeted people, made small talk, and met many individuals, including some celebrities she had heard of before.

Several executives from Paimon attended the party.

They heard firsthand from everyone their appreciation for ”Behind the Scenes,” discussing the film’s Oscar potential.

This information could help them make subsequent decisions.

This had nothing to do with Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun just needed to weave through the crowd, chatting with everyone about her experience filming this movie and the danger she faced the night before last.

These topics were enough to have conversations with everyone.

And You Jiang also demonstrated his charm and wit that night.

His performance in ”Behind the Scenes” was equally impressive, especially as the only male actor among three female leads, his acting was both skillful and dazzling.

Many producers showed interest in him, exchanging contact information.

You Jiang’s advantage was his fluency in English, allowing him to communicate naturally with everyone.

In a formal suit, he resembled the big celebrity from the movies, gracefully navigating this social scene with an air of Eastern gentility and elegance.

Distinctive, leaving a profound impression.

As the party was about to end, Zhou Lan whispered to Zhou Yun with unconcealed excitement, ”Everyone’s reaction has been great; Paimon should be planning to formally start the award campaign for this film now.”

This was very good news.

For Zhou Yun, ”Behind the Scenes” would serve as her first calling card in the United States film industry.

After the party, several Paimon executives invited Shi Luoqi, Xue Qin, You Jiang, and Zhou Yun for dinner.

This dinner was to discuss matters following ”Behind the Scenes.”

Paimon expressed hope that Zhou Yun could be fully involved.

Now that Zhou Yun was gaining significant attention in the United States, Paimon naturally wanted her involved in the awards season promotions.

For anyone seeking an Oscar nomination, awards season is a long marathon, where perseverance until the end holds the hope of victory.

Especially for a non-English language film like this.

But Zhou Yun couldn’t find the time, so she had to decline.

Zhou Yun’s refusal made some Paimon executives dissatisfied.

Some even hinted that if Zhou Yun participated, Paimon would fully support her Oscar Best Actress campaign.

Zhou Yun wasn’t indifferent, come on, what actor wouldn’t want to win an Oscar for Best Actress? It’s just that she was genuinely helpless.

Next up were ”Deep Sea” and Director Kang Xin’s new film to shoot, people had been waiting for her schedule, she couldn’t skip the filming for this promotion.

The preparation had been long in place, the filming schedule was set.

If she no-showed, the losses would be severe for them.

On the way back to the hotel, the car was quiet for a while before Zhou Lan asked, ”Missing this opportunity, who knows when the next one like it will come; will you regret it?”

Zhou Yun said, ”I will regret it, I already do, but even so, I can only let myself regret.”

Zhou Lan sighed.

”You know, if it were someone else, an actor I managed, I would absolutely not allow them to miss such an opportunity, even if it meant breaking a contract. I wouldn’t let them miss it, it’s the Oscars! With some proper public relations, even if you can’t get a nomination, your recognition in the United States would soar. But perhaps being influenced by your stubbornness these two years, I’ve gotten used to it, and I can’t even say a word to persuade you.”

Zhou Lan laughed.

”So be it, steadily filming is quite good.”
