Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 890: Chapter 562: The Final Award (Part 2)

Works have always been like this; personal expression and public preference are mostly at odds.

Song Chi has already been invited backstage to prepare for going on stage.

Zhou Yun went to greet Shi Luoqi and Xue Qin, as she had been too busy earlier and hadn’t had the chance to greet them.

Yin Lin suddenly walked over to them.

”Hi!”

Zhou Yun had never interacted with Yin Lin before; this was their first meeting.

”Sister Luo Qi, Director Xue Qin, Xiao Yun, hello,” Yin Lin said graciously to them. ”I’m Yin Lin.”

”You’re so beautifully dressed today!” Shi Luoqi exclaimed in surprise and gave her a hug.

Yin Lin was wearing an indigo long dress adorned with tiny diamonds, swaying like a starry sky.

”Not as beautiful as you guys,” Yin Lin said. ”I’m really happy to meet you today. I’ve always loved your work, ’Behind the Scenes,’ especially after learning about the behind-the-scenes efforts, I think it’s amazing.”

”We also like ’Bad Woman’ very much,” Shi Luoqi laughed and said.

After exchanging pleasantries for a while, the film company’s boss came over to talk to Shi Luoqi and Xue Qin.

Yin Lin looked at Zhou Yun, giving her a slight smile and said, ”I’ve finally met you; I really like you.”

”Thank you, Sister Lin, I really like you too,” Zhou Yun responded graciously. ”I went to see ’Bad Woman’ in July, and you really dazzled in it.”

”I should be thanking you. After the premiere, you even recommended the film on Weibo for us,” Yin Lin said. ”May I give you a hug?”

”Of course,” Zhou Yun, pleasantly surprised, shared a hug with Yin Lin.

Someone beside them took a photo.

Yin Lin said, ”I’m especially happy to have the chance to know you. I really like your acting style. If there’s an opportunity, we must work together.”

”Yes,” Zhou Yun nodded, ”I also want to collaborate with you, Sister Lin. I don’t have my phone with me right now, but when I return later, I’ll ask a friend to introduce us so I can add you on WeChat. Is that okay?”

”Of course, no problem,” Yin Lin nodded.

The two engaged in a friendly exchange.

The host reminded them to return to their seats as the award ceremony was about to continue.

Zhou Yun returned to her seat in the front row.

As the background music played, the host invited the singer of a nominated film’s theme song to perform for everyone.

After Zhou Yun enjoyed the performance, Song Chi appeared.

He came out from backstage with a slightly raised smile, full of spirit.

The audience erupted in applause.

Having been in the industry for a long time, almost everyone knew him. He wasn’t the least bit nervous but, like a host, graciously waved the envelope in his hand in greeting to everyone.

Zhou Yun sat below the stage, watching Song Chi, unable to suppress a smile.

Song Chi was truly very handsome.

Especially in such settings, dressed smartly in formal wear, with fine features, exuding a simultaneously handsome and sensual charm.

Zhou Yun seldom saw this side of Song Chi in everyday life.

Only in such settings could she see it.

Wen Bing whispered in her ear, ”Your boyfriend is really handsome, I saw many women staring.”

Zhou Yun chuckled and said, ”Then why don’t you write a script for him?”

Wen Bing shrugged and said, ”I don’t like men, so I don’t have the urge to create.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Write something like ’Two Tigers,’ an action movie.”

”That’s not interesting. Up next is ’Female Assassin,’ and before that, I don’t plan to write that kind of script again; I’ve used up all the inspiration,” Wen Bing said.

”Actually, Wen Bing, why don’t you consider shooting an already mature script? Not every script for your own movies has to be written by you—you’re a director, not a screenwriter,” Zhou Yun said.

”I’ve been looking, but I haven’t found one that’s particularly suitable, one that I have a strong desire to bring to life,” Wen Bing said. ”The main problem is, being contracted to New Shield, I can only choose from their projects; the range is too narrow.”

The two chatted casually for a few moments. Song Chi was already prepared to open the envelope and announce the final winner for Best Actress tonight.

A camera pointed at Zhou Yun for the shot.

Zhou Yun maintained a smile on her face, waiting for the result.

Song Chi opened the envelope and took out the paper with the result written on it.

Surprise appeared briefly on his face.

This hint of surprise seen by Zhou Yun made her immediately understand that the winner was probably not her.
