Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 853: Chapter 544: A Dispute

His name is Wendoc.

The police seemed to think he had a relationship dispute with Zhou Yun, constantly questioning them about their relationship.

Zhou Yun helplessly explained that she had only met this man once, and also pointed out that she had just arrived in Los Angeles today and had never been to this city before. After explaining a lot, the police finally understood that this unexpected intruder wasn’t because of personal grievances with Zhou Yun when he broke into her room late at night.

Zhou Yun said, ”I don’t know what’s going on with this person, but he also harassed my friend Cristina this afternoon. There was a bit of verbal conflict between us. If there’s any conflict between me and him, it would be just this. But this little conflict shouldn’t have driven him to do such a thing, right?”

She had recovered from the shock and fright and was no longer so scared.

The police report took a long time.

Meanwhile, Wendoc had vanished to who knows where.

Zheng Xiaojue accompanied Zhou Yun to another room, and she had to stay with Zhou Yun that night.

Although Zhou Yun said it wasn’t necessary, Zheng Xiaojue decisively insisted, ”Tonight you have to listen to me.”

Sometimes, the young Zheng Xiaojue would display that kind of unquestionable look that often appears on the face of an elder.

Zheng Xiaojue’s words were so resolute that Zhou Yun was momentarily speechless.

During the second half of the night, Zhou Yun didn’t sleep well, lying in bed for a long time before falling asleep, only to be awakened by a nightmare.

But there was no time to catch up on sleep the next day. She had to try on the gown for tomorrow’s screening red carpet, prepare her styling, as well as handle other work.

Early in the morning, a colleague responsible for filming the VLOG knocked on the door and came in.

This was a previously agreed filming activity, destined to be released on MK Magazine’s official social media.

After the commotion of last night’s incident, everyone already knew what happened.

But the work that needs to be finished has to be completed as originally planned; otherwise, many plans and many people’s initial efforts will go to waste.

This is the reason Zhou Yun doesn’t dare to easily cancel any work.

This VLOG is to capture Zhou Yun’s styling process, during which she and the makeup artist will share some of their usual makeup tips with everyone.

These kinds of videos are very popular among young girls.

Halfway through the filming, Zhou Lan suddenly came in.

She greeted the filming crew, and the shoot was paused.

Zhou Lan said to Zhou Yun, ”Bruce from Paimon is here. He heard about what happened to you last night and came specifically to offer his condolences.”

Zhou Yun felt puzzled, ”Someone from Paimon came to console me?”

”Yeah, I don’t know where they heard the news from. I didn’t tell them,” Zhou Lan said, ”Even Shi Luoqi doesn’t know yet.”

Zhou Lan brought Bruce in.

Bruce was tall, seemingly close to 1.9 meters, suit-clad, with handsome features and an excellent image.

When he saw Zhou Yun, he extended his hand to shake hers and said in a concerned tone, ”It’s a pity you encountered this incident when you came to Los Angeles. Fortunately, nothing happened to you.”

Zhou Yun was meeting Bruce for the first time.

She said, ”Yes, fortunately, nothing happened. Last night, there was a moment when I thought I was going to die.”

Bruce seemed surprised that Zhou Yun directly mentioned the word ’die,’ and after momentarily opening his mouth in shock, he smiled.

”Mr. Bruce, where did you hear I was attacked last night?” Zhou Yun asked.

Bruce said, ”The hotel staff told us. Our company arranged for your stay at this hotel. We apologize for such an incident happening here. We’ll help you move to a safer hotel.”

A stranger being able to intrude at night indeed makes this hotel unsafe.

However, neither Zhou Yun nor Zhou Lan anticipated that this incident would receive coverage from many television stations and online media in the United States.

While having lunch at noon, Zhou Lan’s phone suddenly rang. After she answered, she was about to speak to Zhou Yun, but another call came in.

Zhou Lan’s phone kept receiving seven or eight calls continuously, without a break.

Zhou Yun thought maybe it was about her appearing in some news. She wondered if the news of her being attacked had spread domestically and become a trending topic back home.
