Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 882: Chapter 558: Untitled_2

”That’s just an inferior sequel,” Zhou Yun said, ”not every movie can have a sequel.”

”He doesn’t care about the reviews as long as it makes money,” Wen Bing said. ”New Shield is mainly a film production company. By the way, I’ve heard Yao Yuanfeng has made quite a few overseas deployments, already starting to invest in films in other countries. He’s still aiming for an international route, finding ways to expand international distribution channels, especially in media and theaters.”

Zhou Yun said, ”If he can pull this off, it would be very beneficial for Chinese-language films.”

”Yes, we have the market, a mature team, and a steady stream of film productions. But without channels, we have to rely on others. Good films can only end up being bought and distributed by international distributors,” Wen Bing said. ”Thinking about it now, if we had a mature assembly line like Hollywood, many of our films could achieve higher box office numbers and greater influence.”

Zhou Yun: ”Yes.”

”Having a mature industry chain is extremely important.”

The two chatted casually for a long time before Song Chi came out.

In a suit and leather shoes with a tie, Song Chi turned into that handsome man again.

Song Chi walked up to them and greeted Wen Bing first, ”Director Wen, nice to see you again.”

Wen Bing smiled at him and said, ”If I had known you were walking the red carpet with Zhou Yun today, I’d avoid being the third wheel.”

Song Chi said, ”There’re always chances to walk the red carpet with Zhou Yun, but it’s rare to do so with you. Don’t always think of Zhou Yun when you have a script; I’m an actor too.”

Wen Bing laughed heartily and said, ”Are you really lacking roles?”

Song Chi: ”Believe me, I’d love to act in your film.”

After a few casual chats, they set off to attend the Lingjun Award.

The Lingjun Award event was exceptionally grand this year, and its red carpet outshone similar events.

Zhou Yun and her group appeared on the red carpet, with waves of cheers crashing towards them, creating a powerful illusion that they could command the world.

Zhou Yun and Song Chi walked hand in hand on the red carpet, naturally attracting the most attention from everyone.

Fans screamed and shouted their names.

Wen Bing purposely stayed half a body length away from them, often stepping aside for better photography.

Zhou Yun waved to everyone, feeling extremely happy.

The feeling of walking the red carpet is something Zhou Yun believes she could never tire of, no matter how many times.

The sense of finally enjoying glory after painstakingly creating a work.

Walking the red carpet with confidence.

Song Chi whispered to Zhou Yun, ”With so many people shouting your name, it feels like everyone here is a fan of yours.”

Zhou Yun smiled playfully, glancing at Song Chi.

Actually, it’s mainly because Zhou Yun’s achievements in film this year have been outstanding. Not everyone on-site are fans of Zhou Yun personally, but they’ve all certainly seen Zhou Yun’s films.

Most of them, after watching the films, acknowledged a fact: Zhou Yun’s acting is truly exceptional.

For those who love cinema, they might not like you personally, but when your skills reach a certain level, you’ll earn respect.

This is a truth that remains unchanged everywhere.

Just like Meryl Streep, she’s not a box office heavyweight, nor a popular superstar, but she represents and stands at the pinnacle of this industry, so anyone involved in it will inevitably respect her.

Zhou Yun conquered the audience with her acting skills.

Entering the awards ceremony venue, Zhou Yun received even more exaggerated welcomes and congratulations.

Of course, Zhou Yun didn’t think she’d win an award this time.

Three nominations are excessive, and during voting, the judges will certainly consider various factors, especially since she already won Qingmu Award for Best Actress this year, they might not be willing to give her Best Actress again.

Best Supporting Actress, however, might be promising.

Zhou Yun judged it like this.

She also believed her performance in ”Warm Little Horse,” whether in the breakthrough of the character or the craftsmanship in portrayal, was different from what she usually played.

In that venue, Zhou Yun drew everyone’s attention and inevitably got asked by many about Paimon’s Chinese Warrior film.

”Xiao Yun, will you act in that movie?” Almost everyone asked this.

Zhou Yun didn’t play games; she directly said, ”I won’t, I have many films lined up to shoot.”

When they heard Zhou Yun say this, it became clear that she truly wouldn’t act in it.

”Sister Xiao Yun.” Wang Jing gracefully came over, holding Zhou Yun’s hand, ”Your outfit is stunning tonight!”

The genuine amazement was evident in Wang Jing’s eyes.

Zhou Yun patted Wang Jing’s back and said, ”Good luck tonight.”

Wang Jing was quite competitive for the Best Newcomer Award.

She showed a shy smile and gratefully said, ”Thank you, Sister Xiao Yun, for giving me this opportunity. Without you, I wouldn’t be here tonight.”

”You must never say that,” Zhou Yun said, ”Your own effort is the most important thing; keep acting well, and we’ll get nominated together more often.”

Wang Jing nodded, smilingly agreeing.

Zhou Yun introduced Wang Jing to many producers, directors, and veteran actors.

Everyone treated Wang Jing very kindly.

This is the advantage of having a representative work.

Although Wang Jing was introduced by Zhou Yun, she was nominated today as well, and that was her confidence.
