Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 877: Chapter 556: Mélando’s New Film_2

As for the male lead, Song Chi is the most favored candidate.

For this news, Zhou Yun received inquiries from many industry insiders, asking about the truth of the matter.

Zhou Yun could only deny them one by one.

In fact, this rumor has been spreading for quite some time, and everyone believes that Zhou Yun would be the first consideration for the female lead of this film, yet the other party has never contacted Zhou Yun.

This puzzled both Zhou Yun and Zhou Lan.

Even though Zhou Yun initially agreed with Song Chi not to take on this role.

Gu Huaichun suddenly reached out to her.

”Did you offend Paimon and their people?”

Zhou Yun asked, ”I don’t think so, why? What’s up?”

Gu Huaichun said, ”Today, someone from Paimon came to see me. They want to invite me to play a role in their movie Chinese Warrior. I chatted with them for a bit. I thought they would ask you to play the female lead, but when I mentioned you, they didn’t respond. It seemed like there’s some hidden story behind it.”

”Oh, they haven’t come to me, but I wasn’t planning to act in it anyway. I have so many projects lined up, my schedule is packed,” Zhou Yun said.

Gu Huaichun said, ”So you weren’t planning to take the role? I was worried someone stepped in and snatched it from you.”

Zhou Yun smiled and said, ”Thanks for the concern, but I’m really booked, I have several other films to shoot.”

”If you’re not acting, I wonder whom they’ll choose.”

”Whatever, but it’s a good opportunity. You should seize it; you might become an international superstar.”

”Yeah, right. I’m not playing the male lead.”

”They’re not going to just let you play a trivial role,” Zhou Yun said.

Now, Gu Huaichun is at least a popular young star, and his company wouldn’t let him play a minor role in a film, even if it’s a Hollywood big production.

It would lower his commercial value.

It’s definitely going to be a role with significant scenes.

Currently, Gu Huaichun is mainly focused on web series, hardly getting any serious drama roles.

Getting involved in this film would greatly help boost his standing in the film industry.

As long as his agent manages it well, Gu Huaichun might even step into the movie world.

This is the added effect a blockbuster has on an actor.

Gu Huaichun’s call made Zhou Yun quite happy. Because usually, during the negotiation stage, people try their best to keep things under wraps to prevent leaks that could lead to being smeared, attacked, or having the role being snatched. But Gu Huaichun, out of concern for her, actually called to ”tip her off”, showing that he considers her a true friend.

However, Gu Huaichun’s call also gave Zhou Yun a reminder.

No matter what, it’s indeed strange that Paimon hasn’t contacted her yet.

It’s not that she’s boasting, but she’s genuinely the most sought-after actress in the film market right now, especially in the international market, in her age group, there is no one who can compete with her.

Why hasn’t Paimon even approached her?

Could it be that someone is deliberately meddling behind the scenes?

Zhou Yun called Zhou Lan to talk about this matter.

Zhou Lan said, ”If that’s the case, I need to find out, so you’re not being stabbed in the back without even knowing.”

Zhou Lan did not directly ask Paimon—that obviously wouldn’t be appropriate.

She contacted Shi Luoqi to help investigate.

Shi Luoqi was the most suitable person for this.

Shi Luoqi quickly found out the news, but the truth was surprising.

Paimon first contacted Song Chi, inviting him to audition, but Song Chi directly refused, stating he was filming and didn’t have availability.

Song Chi’s attitude annoyed Paimon’s higher-ups, and after knowing that Zhou Yun was Song Chi’s girlfriend, they decided not to use Zhou Yun either.

Shi Luoqi even asked Zhou Lan if she needed her to mediate the situation.

Zhou Lan asked Zhou Yun’s opinion.

Zhou Yun did not expect this reason.

”Are Paimon’s executives that arrogant?” Zhou Yun was bewildered, ”Simply because Song Chi refused to act, they even decided to hold a grudge against me? Haha, Sister Lan, tell Sister Luo Qi thanks, but no need, I wasn’t planning on doing this film anyway.”

Zhou Lan hesitated for a moment, intending to say something but held back, finally just nodding.

Disregarding other factors, Zhou Lan actually very much hoped Zhou Yun could act in this film.
