Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 889: Chapter 562: The Final Award

Today’s presenter for the Best Actress award is Song Chi.

Before the award was even announced, this topic already became a hot topic online.

Many netizens are eagerly anticipating this moment.

Therefore, when the award ceremony was just about to announce the Best Actress award and suddenly went to commercials, everyone was instantly annoyed.

Hurry up and give out the award, they want to know if this time Zhou Yun can receive the Best Actress trophy from Song Chi’s hands!

Whether Zhou Yun can win the award has garnered a lot of attention.

Especially since Zhou Yun’s achievements this year in awards have been outstanding, she has already won the Best Actress award at the Qingmu Award and the Best Supporting Actress at the Tiansi Award. If she successfully wins the Best Actress at the Lingjun Award this time, Zhou Yun will have secured her third significant acting award this year.

This will be a moment of crowning glory.

Zhou Yun’s fans are eager to witness this moment.

Not to mention, Zhou Yun has a very good chance this time. In terms of her nominations, her performances in the films ”Life” and ”Behind the Scenes” are impressive at any award show. If Zhou Yun can win tonight and take home two of the three major domestic film awards, it would be a great achievement.

Unlike gaming, there’s no clear ranking in the entertainment industry.

Who is first, who is second, it’s not distinctly ranked.

In the entertainment industry, who has a higher status and who’s more influential is influenced by too many factors, making it impossible to rank. However, one thing everyone knows is that the number of awards can be compared.

The three major awards, who has won a Grand Slam, who has won twice, these are the things fans love to compare every time they clash.

So, if Zhou Yun can win the Best Actress at the Lingjun Award, she wouldn’t just be among the top of the young generation, her achievements in the entire Chinese-language film circle would be considerable.

After all, most actresses who have won the Best Actress trophy only achieve that once in their lives.

This time, Zhou Yun’s main competitors for Best Actress are Cheng Rina and Yin Lin.

Cheng Rina previously got nominated with Zhou Yun at the Qingmu Award, which Zhou Yun won.

It’s hard to say if the Lingjun Award will go to Cheng Rina this time. After all, Cheng Rina is very strong. Although the film she is nominated for isn’t as famous or successful as ”Life”, it’s a highly recognized production in the industry. Yin Lin, on the other hand, got nominated for a comedy movie ”Bad Woman” released in July this year.

Yin Lin is also an actress who has been in the industry for over a decade without much fame. Yet, ”Bad Woman” made her an overnight sensation in her thirties—truly an overnight sensation, the film’s word-of-mouth exploded among audiences, and so did its box office. A movie that no one expected during the summer release ended up grossing a billion, instantly making Yin Lin, a skillful actress, known nationwide.

In fact, in the eyes of industry insiders, only Yin Lin can pose a real threat to Zhou Yun.

On one hand, Yin Lin is experienced and has never won an award, fitting the type of artist that the Lingjun Award likes to honor—those who have long been overlooked but have consistently delivered solid performances. On the other hand, her film ”Bad Woman” is the only one that can compete with ”Life” and ”Behind the Scenes” in terms of box office and popularity, even surpassing them in terms of box office revenue.

Zhou Yun has never interacted with Yin Lin, but she watched ”Bad Woman” and liked it a lot, especially Yin Lin’s portrayal of a character rumored to have done all sorts of bad things, kept ambiguous relationships with multiple men, and was ruthlessly wicked.

Zhou Yun is aware that, comparatively, ”Bad Woman” is likely to be more popular than ”Life” and ”Behind the Scenes.” The former is not only well-made but also closely related to the real lives of many women, allowing female audiences to resonate with the situations depicted, just like how many developed a Huang Xiaoxian filter after watching ”Love Is Not Blind” years ago, which remains to this day.

No matter how well-made ”Life” and ”Behind the Scenes” are, they are still art films that narrate things in a cultural and subtle way, lacking the directness and transparency that’s laid out for the audience.
