Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 880: Chapter 557: Before the Red Carpet

Lingjun Award ceremony day.

Zhou Yun hesitated multiple times, but ultimately decided to walk the red carpet only once.

The films ”Life,” ”Behind the Scenes,” and ”Warm Little Horse” were all nominated. Typically, when multiple films are nominated, actors change outfits and walk the red carpet multiple times.

Zhou Yun decided not to fuss over it.

But this created the problem of which crew Zhou Yun would walk with.

”Warm Little Horse” had many actors, and she was just a supporting actress. Moreover, with Shen Yao present, there was no lack of starlight, so it was ruled out first.

Although Zeng Lili was absent in the ”Behind the Scenes” crew, You Jiang and Wang Jing would be there. Zhou Yun thought that if she walked with Wang Jing, it would attract media and camera attention away from her.

For ”Life,” she was the only main actor. If she didn’t walk, Wen Bing would have to do it alone.

So Zhou Yun decided to walk the red carpet with Wen Bing.

On the day of the award ceremony, Song Chi suddenly told her he would be there that evening too.

The reason was that the presenter for Best Actress couldn’t make it due to unforeseen circumstances, and the committee asked Song Chi to step in.

Song Chi asked her if she wanted to walk the red carpet together.

Zhou Yun thought about it and decided to walk with Song Chi, along with Wen Bing.

The committee was thrilled.

Song Chi and Zhou Yun appearing together guaranteed attention.

Moreover, Zhou Yun and Song Chi rarely walked the red carpet together.

Usually, they had their own crews to walk with.

Once the decision was made in the afternoon, the official Weibo account of Lingjun Award announced—Zhou Yun would walk the red carpet with Song Chi.

Upon release, their couple fans went wild.

Because...the couple hadn’t been seen together for a long time.

Zheng Xiaojue and Liu Yun helped Zhou Yun try on the evening gown, and Zheng Xiaojue read the enthusiastic online discussions to Zhou Yun.

”Everyone’s really looking forward to you and Brother Chi walking the red carpet together.”

Zhou Yun looked at herself in the mirror, smiled, and said, ”Should I tie up my hair instead?”

She wore a dark gold strapless gown and applied deep-colored lipstick, giving off a queen-like vibe. Keeping her usual big waves might weaken this style a bit.

The stylist, upon hearing this, tied up Zhou Yun’s hair, revealing her long, graceful neck.

”Truly beautiful,” the stylist said.

Zheng Xiaojue nodded earnestly, saying, ”Sister Xiao Yun is really beautiful.”

Zhou Yun put one hand on her waist, smiled, and said, ”Can you two stop complimenting me in harmony?”

With her styling complete, Zhou Yun had a photo session to post on her Weibo later.

Zhou Lan had commented that Zhou Yun should take many pretty photos with such a nice outfit, otherwise it’d be a waste to just walk the red carpet.

Zhou Yun had always cooperated in this regard.

Suddenly, voices were heard at the door.

Many people were calling for Brother Chi.

Zhou Yun turned around in surprise upon hearing the voices.

Song Chi walked in wearing a gray T-shirt and jeans.

”You finally made it,” Zhou Yun said, smiling when she saw him.

The collar of Song Chi’s T-shirt was wet; it must have been hot outside.

He said, ”I hurried all the way, just afraid I wouldn’t make it.”

Liu Yun took a cold bottle of mineral water from a small fridge and handed it to Song Chi.

Song Chi opened the cap and gulped down half the bottle.

Zhou Yun said, ”Take it easy, don’t choke.”

Song Chi finished the water, exhaled, and said, ”Don’t jinx me.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”Catch your breath first, we still have time.”

Song Chi shook his head, saying, ”The committee arranged for me to have an interview soon, in half an hour. I need to get ready; can’t appear like this on camera.”

Zhou Yun laughed and said, ”If you appeared like this, it would be too rough indeed.”

The room was crowded.

The committee arranged a separate place for Song Chi.

Even though Zhou Yun and Song Chi were a couple, the committee wouldn’t save money by having them share a space.

Their team members couldn’t fit into one venue.

As Song Chi prepared himself, Zhou Yun had a photo session with the photographer.

Meanwhile, Zheng Xiaojue held a small camera, capturing material for a VLOG to be released online.

While shooting, Liu Yuqian, dressed glamorously, approached her surrounded by her team.

”Hi, Xiao Yun!” Liu Yuqian exclaimed in surprise.

Although Liu Yuqian wasn’t nominated for ”Warm Little Horse,” she was invited to the ceremony, along with Yu Sitian, Meng Ran, and other actors.

No award ceremony ever considers having too many stars.

Bright starlight is the hallmark of such events.

Actors not nominated or serving as guests typically don’t attend.

Liu Yuqian and Meng Ran were invited as ”Warm Little Horse” secured nominations.

Zhou Yun warmly hugged Liu Yuqian.

Lots of people were observing, including their work teams and committee staff.

Both were used to being surrounded and chatted nonchalantly.

”You look stunning today, this dress is gorgeous!” Liu Yuqian said, ”As a fellow woman, I’m quite jealous.”

Zhou Yun smirked and said, ”You always compliment me this way, even though you’re equally beautiful.”

Liu Yuqian gave a slight smile.

Zhou Yun asked, ”Sister Yuqian, are you walking the red carpet with ’Warm Little Horse’ later?”

”Yes.” Liu Yuqian nodded. ”I thought we’d walk together this time, but you abandoned me.”

Zhou Yun laughed and said, ”No choice. ’Life’ only has me as the actor. If I don’t walk with Wen Bing, he’d have to walk alone.”

Liu Yuqian thought for a moment and said, ”That’s okay.”

”Haha.” Zhou Yun laughed with Liu Yuqian and then called Zheng Xiaojue over: ”Xiaoju, help us take a photo; we rarely meet and should capture the moment.”

The two posed arm in arm for a photo.

Liu Yuqian headed to join the ”Warm Little Horse” crew.

”Make sure to come take a photo with us later,” Liu Yuqian said, ”You’re part of our crew too.”

Zhou Yun nodded and agreed.

If any part of entertainment feels the most like Vanity Fair, it’s definitely award ceremonies.

No other place brings together so many stars simultaneously.

At this Lingjun Award, many celebrities were invited by the committee to boost ratings for the live TV broadcast.

Zhou Yun first met up with Wen Bing.

Wen Bing wore a black suit, with no surprises, but for him, dressing appropriately was sufficient.

No brand demanded a specific effect from him.

Zhou Yun said, ”Wen Bing, let’s aim to win Best Director this time.”

Wen Bing smiled and said, ”Don’t even think about it, I’m not considering it myself.”

Zhou Yun asked, ”Has ’Two Tigers’ been completed?”

”Yes, it’s finished,” Wen Bing nodded. ”Yao Yuanfeng wants to release it during the Spring Festival.”

”Spring Festival?” Zhou Yun was surprised. ”Is there room?”

The Spring Festival is now the most popular film market domestically.

To secure a spot during the Spring Festival, both big films and strong capabilities are needed.

Wen Bing said, ”Yao Yuanfeng plans on that.”

Zhou Yun said, ”But this movie is an action film, suitable for Spring Festival. Everyone likes to watch big films then.”

Wen Bing nodded and said, ”However, about Paimon’s Chinese Warrior film, will you act in it? There’s so much rumor about whether you will or won’t.”

Zhou Yun shook her head and said, ”I won’t act in it. I’ve already committed to many projects, and my schedule can’t be adjusted.”

”But it’s a Hollywood blockbuster.”

”If Hollywood asked you to appear, would you?” Zhou Yun asked.

Wen Bing said, ”If the project is right, why not?”

Zhou Yun replied, ”Exactly, you only go if the project is suitable. I haven’t even seen the script; why would I go?”

”They haven’t contacted you or shown you the script?”

”No contact from start to finish,” Zhou Yun said, ”Maybe they didn’t plan to invite me to act.”

Wen Bing shook his head, saying, ”I don’t understand.”

”How’s the script revision for the Female Assassin movie?” Zhou Yun mentioned another collaboration with Wen Bing.

Wen Bing said, ”Two drafts have been revised.”
