Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 884: Chapter 559: The Path That Must Be Taken (2)

”What do you think?” Zhou Yun asked. ”Do you think I can win the Best Supporting Actress award?”

”It’s a panel voting system, with seven or eight judges voting, round by round. Whether you can win depends partly on how your competitors perform and partly on whether the judges want to give you the Best Actress award. If they want to give you the Best Actress award, then I don’t think they’ll give you the Best Supporting Actress trophy.” Wen Bing said. ”In the same event, they likely won’t give both the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress awards to the same person, unless the other nominees are lacking, but I’ve basically watched the performances of those nominated with you this time. Honestly, especially Teacher Qin Zhong in ’Dusk’ and Yang Xi in ’He Mingfan,’ their performances are outstanding. Like your performance in ’Warm Little Horse,’ all are impressive, you three have a good competition.”

”Teacher Qin Zhong has never won the Lingjun Award before, I think the judges will consider that.”

Previously, Song Chi wanted to cast Qin Zhong in ’Beauty Yu,’ but because Teacher Qin Zhong suddenly fractured his bone, the chance for collaboration was missed.

Yang Xi is a contracted actress with New Shield and started around the same time as Wei Ru Xue. Her acting skills are excellent. She hasn’t won awards, but she has acted in many films, especially supporting roles. Although she may not be very popular, she’s famous within the industry as a capable actress.

Zhou Yun said, ”I’m okay with it either way. I’ve already tried very hard to perform in this movie.”

”I think you can actually slow down a bit.” Wen Bing suggested again. ”You no longer need to chase quantity.”

”I’ve never chased quantity, it’s just that after becoming popular, more scripts have come my way, and those I’m interested in and want to act in have also increased. I don’t want to miss them.” Zhou Yun said. ”However, I suppose the judges will have quite the headache too.”

”Certainly, if I were a judge this year, I’d definitely be worried. The worst thing is having too many equally matched works in one event; no matter who you choose, there’d be controversy.” Wen Bing laughed.

”You still laugh? This time you’re competing with Shi Luoqi for the Best Director award, aren’t you nervous?”

”Not nervous. Anyway, I won’t win.” Wen Bing had no optimism about her winning prospects. ”I have self-awareness. ’Life’ has many flaws in various aspects. Its biggest merit is the genuine emotions you and I have put into it, but technically, it has many flaws. The Best Director award won’t go to me; getting nominated is already the greatest affirmation.”

At this moment, someone approached Song Chi.

It was Chen Wenjun.

”Song Chi, are you recently filming ’Laissez-faire’?” he asked.

Song Chi stood up, shook hands, nodded, and said, ”Still filming.”

”Do you have availability from June to August next year?” Chen Wenjun asked him. ”We haven’t collaborated in a long time. I happen to have a suspense-themed TV drama in preparation, written by Zhi Wei, who wrote ’Laissez-faire’. Are you interested?”

”Zhi Wei wrote the script?” Song Chi asked somewhat surprised. ”I didn’t even know he wrote a TV script.”

”We spent heavily to get him to write it.” Chen Wenjun smiled. ”I know you really like Zhi Wei’s scripts, so I’m here specifically to ask if you want to collaborate again.”

Song Chi and Chen Wenjun chatted quietly for a while.

Zhou Yun, having some resistance toward Chen Wenjun, ignored them and started chatting with another actress sitting beside her.

The actress was Tu Lu, invited today as an award presenter. She won the Best Actress award shortly after debuting, and although she hasn’t won any significant awards later, she never left the entertainment circle.

Tu Lu pulled her in for a selfie.

”I’ve wanted to meet you for a long time, and finally got the chance today.” Tu Lu was about ten years older than Zhou Yun, in her prime, and from appearances, there was no difference. In the entertainment circle, looks in one’s twenties and thirties, once made up, generally show no difference.

Tu Lu said, ”I heard that the ’Chinese Warrior’ movie, Paimon is in touch with Yin Linglin, aren’t you going to try to vie for it? If I were five years younger, I certainly wouldn’t miss this opportunity.”
