Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 886: Chapter 559: The Inevitable Path (Part 4)

”I’ve always considered myself a good actress, a dedicated actress. So, there’s been quite a long time I’ve wondered why I never got the Lingjun Award. What’s wrong with these judges? Can’t they see my outstanding performance? I’ve won both the Qingmu Award and Feijing Award, why not this one?”

Qin Zhong acted out the kind of internal drama that might occur in every nominee’s heart who didn’t win.

Everyone burst into laughter.

”Fortunately, I got it in the end,” Qin Zhong said. ”Actually, this time, the actresses nominated alongside me were so remarkable. I’ve watched each of their films, and as I sat in the audience earlier, I thought if any of them won the award instead of me, it would be normal. After all, look, nominated with me is Zhou Yun, who just won the Qingmu Award for Best Actress; the universally acknowledged uncrowned queen Yang Xi; and Wang Jing, who just won the Jury Prize at Cannes; and...”

Everyone listened intently.

The nominees mentioned gave polite smiles to Qin Zhong.

”Did you believe it? Of course not!” Qin Zhong suddenly changed her expression and laughed herself. ”I’m not that magnanimous. While sitting in the audience, there’s only one voice in my heart — I want to win! Finally, darling, I finally got the Lingjun Award, hahahaha—”

Qin Zhong actually let out a joyous laugh on stage.

The audience burst into laughter again.

Zhou Yun was also amused by Qin Zhong’s direct attitude.

She applauded enthusiastically and even cheered.

”Teacher Qin, you’re amazing!” she shouted.

Qin Zhong blew a kiss to Zhou Yun in the audience.

The result for Best Supporting Actress was announced.

The interaction between Zhou Yun and Qin Zhong quickly became the most talked-about moment among the live-stream audience.

Following that, they awarded Best Sound Effects and were moving on to Best Newcomer Award.

Although Wang Jing was disappointed at not winning Best Supporting Actress, she was prepared for it since her hopes of winning from the start were low.

But for this award, Best Newcomer Award, Wang Jing had strong backing.

It was her first time acting in a movie, where she played a very important role in ”Behind the Scenes”, a film that also won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, thus sustaining the buzz.

Wang Jing’s heart suddenly sped up.

Zhou Yun was also nervous for Wang Jing.

The presenter for Best Newcomer was Tu Lu.

Tu Lu walked gracefully onto the stage and shared her mental journey when she first acted as a newcomer, then introduced the nominees for this year’s Best Newcomer Award.

Tu Lu opened the envelope in her hand and took out the result inside.

”The winner of this year’s Lingjun Award for Best Newcomer is—”

Zhou Yun nervously grabbed onto Song Chi’s hand.

Song Chi squeezed Zhou Yun’s palm.

Right then, the live camera cut to Zhou Yun.

The audience burst out laughing.

— This is truly like a senior sister; even she wasn’t this nervous waiting for her own results!

Tu Lu’s lips curled up.

”Wang Jing, ’Behind the Scenes’!”

As Wang Jing heard her name called, she could no longer control her expression, covering her face with both hands.

Zhou Yun immediately turned around to look for Wang Jing, her face full of joy and excitement.

Zhou Lan and Zheng Xiaojue, sitting in the back row, eagerly stood up.

Seated next to Wang Jing were other people.

The camera focused on Wang Jing.

Wang Jing sat there covering her face for two seconds, then stood up, flushed and ecstatic, and walked toward the stage.

Zhou Yun was already standing in the path, waiting for her.

She gave Wang Jing a warm hug and helped Wang Jing tidy up her bangs, which had been messed up from covering her face. She gently reminded, ”Control yourself, stay calm, calmness is beauty.”

Wang Jing nodded smilingly, but she could no longer control her joy and excitement.

”Sister Xiao Yun, thank you!”

Zhou Yun said, ”Go get your award.”

She laughed and pushed Wang Jing towards the stage.
