Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 892: Chapter 562: The Final Award (Part 4)

Zhou Yun was deeply moved by Director Huang Wen’s bold vision when she heard Yin Lin speak.

”In the realm of cinema, I am a novice, but thanks to the support from all of you, I am so fortunate to stand here today.” Yin Lin began, her voice choked with emotion, ”I know there are still many actors far more diligent than I am, who might still be performing in small theaters in plays and dramas with few audiences, or playing very minor, unremarkable roles with just a few lines. This time last year, I was still experiencing these things, but I never regretted choosing to be an actor, to walk this path. Even in the most difficult times, I love the art of performance and hope that no matter when or where, we will persevere, and I will continue to work hard. Thank you.”

Yin Lin finished her acceptance speech.

She turned her head, eyes glistening with tears, and smiled at Zhou Yun, inviting her over.

Zhou Yun walked to the microphone, glancing back at Yin Lin.

She took a deep breath, looking at the audience below, and said, ”Just now, Sister Lin’s words really touched my heart, and I instantly didn’t know what to say.”

The audience encouraged her with applause.

She smiled and said, ”Thank you.”

”Actually, listening to Sister Lin’s words just now, I kept thinking, what if I weren’t so lucky to encounter ’Life’ and ’Behind the Scenes’? What if I weren’t so fortunate to gain Brother Shen Yao’s favor before even acting in a film and receive the chance to perform in ’Warm Little Horse’? What if five years, ten years after my debut, I still wasn’t famous and didn’t receive any good acting opportunities? Would I persevere like Sister Lin has till today?”

The entire audience listened quietly to Zhou Yun speak.

Everyone could tell that Zhou Yun was speaking from genuine emotion.

”I don’t know; I even feel that I might not have persisted until today,” Zhou Yun said, somewhat embarrassed. ”I didn’t choose this industry out of a passion for acting, so I often feel guilty, ashamed, and sorry in front of all of you. Why is it that someone like me, who hasn’t given long-term effort or had a deep love, can receive your support and encouragement? I always feel undeserving, lacking confidence. This industry has given me too much honor, and I am often overwhelmed with fear and apprehension.”

”Yet, every filmmaker I’ve encountered has never belittled, neglected, or looked down on me because of these things. On the contrary, you all have always helped, encouraged, and supported me wholeheartedly,” Zhou Yun said earnestly. ”Whether it’s Director Kang Xin, Director Cong Lan, Xue Qin, Wen Bing, or predecessors like Sister Lily, Teacher You, Brother Yao, or like-minded partners such as Gu Huaichun, Zhang Mo, and Yin Zhou, you never discuss or judge me for matters beyond acting. I often hear people say I’m a talented actor, and I always wonder, if I hadn’t met these people, would I still possess this so-called talent you speak of? If Sister Luo Qi and Xue Qin hadn’t created such an environment for me to perform in ’Behind the Scenes’, would I have acted with such passion? If, when everyone told me the play was unreliable and advised me not to damage my reputation, Song Chi hadn’t firmly told me to trust my heart, trust my choice, and not fear failure, would I have had the courage to take on ’Behind the Scenes’? I always have many worries and doubts, often hesitant, unsure of what to do. But because I met these people, even when lost, I know failure could just mean one failure; in filmmaking, there’s no need to fear failure. Accepting that it might fail, today I genuinely feel I deserve this trophy. Lastly, I’m especially happy to have won this award with Sister Lin. Sister Lin said before that we must collaborate someday. Now, I want to say, Sister Lin, whenever we have the chance, let’s win another award together!”

Zhou Yun finished her acceptance speech.

Everyone surprisingly stood up and applauded them.

Yin Lin and Zhou Yun hugged each other on stage, exchanging congratulations.

Song Chi approached Zhou Yun and said, ”Hug again when you get off the stage, ladies; the reporters are waiting to interview you!”

With smiles, Zhou Yun and Yin Lin, arm in arm, walked off the stage.
