Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 857: Chapter 546: Unimaginable

Zhou Yun temporarily turned off her mic on her side and asked, ”Sister Lan, what is everyone gossiping about me?”

If they were talking about the incident she encountered last night, it would be understandable.

Zhou Lan said, ”There are all sorts of gossip. Many who’ve seen the movie ’Life’ say they didn’t expect the female celebrity to be the lead actress, and many others praise your looks as exceptionally beautiful.”

”Alright.”

It turns out these are all mundane topics, nothing fresh.

Earlier, during the interview, Zhou Yun was actually a bit nervous.

She feared she might say something wrong and give someone leverage.

Or accidentally slip up, get screenshot, and become a viral meme online.

Most importantly, she was worried about cultural differences causing misunderstandings and conflicts during communication.

Fortunately, the interview went smoothly without anything outrageous or unexpected.

Coming up next is a live interview.

Zhou Yun took a sip of water to refresh her throat, preparing for the next one.

Ten minutes later, Zhou Yun connected to another news program for a live segment.

”Wow, you are so beautiful!” The host of this program was a man in his early forties, with handsome features, looking mature and stable. He complimented her, saying, ”Welcome to our program, Zhou Yun.”

Zhou Yun responded with a thank you.

Nonetheless, he approached from a different angle.

”Is this the first time you have encountered this type of incident?” he suddenly asked.

Zhou Yun was stunned.

This question wasn’t on the interview outline.

First time?

For many people, they might never encounter such incidents in their lifetime, but for Zhou Yun, this indeed wasn’t the first time.

She had similar encounters before, in the country, in a hotel.

Except, that person never actually got in.

The moment Zhou Yun hesitated was noticed by him, and he pursued further, ”Have you had such experiences before?”

”Yesterday’s situation was different,” Zhou Yun shook her head, ”Previously, it did happen in a hotel where someone tried to break into my room late at night, but that person did not succeed.”

”Hmm? Why didn’t he succeed?” he asked.

Confused, Zhou Yun frowned, ”Why he didn’t succeed, do you think I would know the reason? How would I know why he failed to get into my room?”

Taken aback by Zhou Yun’s counter-question, he paused.

”I didn’t mean that, actually, I wanted to ask if there’s any experience in successfully preventing such things from happening, could you share it with our audience during the program.”

”Encountering such incidents, there are no experiences to share,” Zhou Yun said, ”Unless we train ourselves to be boxers, otherwise, the innate difference in physical strength between men and women makes it impossible for us to reduce our risk through experience.”

”Alright.”

Instinctively, Zhou Yun didn’t quite like this host.

It had nothing to do with him being a man.

The angle and manner of his questions made her somewhat uncomfortable.

He asked again, ”As a woman as pretty as you, and a celebrity at that, there must be many people entangled with you, right?”

Zhou Yun replied, ”Many admire me, but rarely anyone disregards my feelings to entangle with me. Most men are quite decent.”

”I thought women like you would always be prejudiced against men.”

”What prejudice do you mean?”

”For instance, believing that all men’s courting gestures are sexual harassment,” he said, ”Isn’t this kind of rhetoric often seen online now?”

”Hold on, such rhetoric often seen online? How many times have you seen it?” Zhou Yun asked.

He was momentarily speechless, unsure how to respond.

He stammered, ”I haven’t specifically counted how many times, but it’s often visible.”

”How often is it visible?” Zhou Yun inquired again.

Suddenly, he got somewhat annoyed.

He didn’t understand what was up with this Zhou Yun woman; is this his program or hers? Why does she keep counter-questioning him here?

Neither of them knew that their conversation had already spread rapidly online.

One undeniable fact is that we are in an era where gender confrontations are increasingly prominent. Of course, many people exploit this for attracting views and stirring up conflict. But aside from these, many deeply rooted issues are being exposed. Some of these issues manifest in gender differences, with rising debates and confrontations.
