Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 894: Chapter 562: The Final Award (6)

In contrast, the movie ”Dusk” has too strong a ”chicken soup” flavor.

Zhou Yun herself isn’t particularly optimistic about this film.

The Best Picture award was quite unexpected, becoming the focus of everyone’s discussion after leaving.

Yao Yuanfeng organized a party, inviting many people to attend, including Zhou Yun and Song Chi.

Zhou Yun and Song Chi went together, and in the car, they talked about the award given to ”Dusk”.

”Perhaps the judges felt that ’Dusk’ had more humanistic care,” Song Chi speculated on the reason it won, ”Most of the judges this time are veterans, and the theme of ’Dusk’ happens to talk about the lives of the elderly.”

Zhou Yun said, ”The movie is moving, but it’s really too sentimental, too melodramatic.”

”I agree on that,” Song Chi laughed, ”It’s actually a bit like ’Balcony’.”

Previously, Song Chi was supposed to act in ”Balcony”, but due to a car accident, Chen Jing had to step in as a replacement.

Zhou Yun said, ”I feel ’Behind the Scenes’ actually deserves the award more.”

”That movie’s style is very distinctive. If it weren’t for winning at the Cannes Film Festival, it doesn’t really fit the Lingjun Award’s taste,” Song Chi said, ”Lingjun Award prefers serious, humanistic themes.”

Zhou Yun nodded.

”On the contrary, they didn’t choose ’Life’, instead, chose ’Behind the Scenes’ as your award-winning piece today, which actually shows the preferences and tendencies of the Lingjun Award,” Song Chi said, ”’Life’ is even more personal and distinct, a very auteur-driven film.”

Zhou Yun: ”Good films shouldn’t be divided into personal or public, auteur or commercial, a good film is just a good film, regardless of all that.”

Song Chi: ”That’s true.”

”Alright then.”

”But you’ve made a big gain tonight, to be honest, when I opened the envelope on stage and saw two names, I was shocked, thought I had the wrong envelope,” Song Chi said, ”After confirming, it turns out they awarded a tie tonight, I bet this will be discussed repeatedly for a long time.”

”I think so too, but that’s fine, actually it’s nice that Sister Lin also got this award, I can share it, I’m very happy,” Zhou Yun said.

”While I was presenting the award on stage, I saw you chatting with Wen Bing, what were you talking about then?” Song Chi asked.

”At that time?” Zhou Yun recalled, ”Oh, we were talking about what he’s planning to shoot next.”

”Sigh, I feel he’s a bit inclined to leave New Shield now.”

”Hmm?” Song Chi was somewhat surprised.

”He has his eye on a project from another company, and they want him to direct, but his contract with New Shield requires him to make a film for them first,” Zhou Yun said, ”So he has to give up that project.”

Song Chi pondered for a moment and said, ”What kind of contract did New Shield sign with him?”

”I don’t really know.”

”Actually, if Yao Yuanfeng were a bit smarter, he should proactively adjust the contract with Wen Bing at this point,” Song Chi said, ”Wen Bing’s first film was such a big success, he can’t continue to restrain Wen Bing with a new director’s contract, otherwise, it will cause plenty of conflicts on both sides and negatively impact a long-term collaboration.”

”I think so too, but it’s not easy for me to talk to Yao Yuanfeng about this.”

”Yao Yuanfeng doesn’t like his authority being challenged, you’d better stay out of this, if Wen Bing really can’t stand it, he’ll definitely talk to Yao Yuanfeng. Now Wen Bing isn’t an unknown figure, he can fight for what he wants,” said Song Chi.

At this moment, the two arrived at the party organized by Yao Yuanfeng.

They got out of the car and didn’t mention the conversation they had on the way any further.

Zhou Yun received congratulations and warm exchanges from everyone.

She didn’t expect to see Windsor here.

She hadn’t seen Wen Bing’s girlfriend for a long time.

Windsor was wearing an evening gown, looking like a completely different person from the first time Zhou Yun met her.

Her makeup was exquisite, and her every movement exuded enthusiasm and confidence.

”Xiao Yun, congratulations on winning another Best Actress! You’re about to achieve a Grand Slam!” Windsor exclaimed from the crowd, surprising Zhou Yun by rushing over to hug her as if they were best friends who shared everything, startling Zhou Yun to the point her pupils trembled a little.
