Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 887: Chapter 560:

Unlike Zhou Yun, Wang Jing has dreamed of becoming an actress since she was a child.

She started working towards becoming an actress from high school.

But no one in her family was in this profession, and she had no networking resources to make her a child star.

She could only muster all her strength to get into a performance academy and then learn acting step by step, attend auditions with major film and television companies, and eventually received an invitation from Chengqian Entertainment.

At that time, this was already a very good opportunity for her.

Chengqian Entertainment is a major brokerage company, one that many people know.

Unlike some of her classmates, who could only end up in some ”small workshops.”

At that time, her classmates envied her and also resented her.

Wang Jing once thought she had embarked on the path she had dreamed of since she was a child, and from then on, the bright road stretched out before her.

However, a month and then two months after entering the company, Wang Jing felt she was being forgotten by the company. She gradually realized that while signing with a big company was a good thing, she also faced one fact — big companies would only have more contracted actors, not fewer, leading to fierce competition, especially for newcomers; it was extremely difficult to make a breakthrough.

Wang Jing waited a long time for opportunities, playing small roles, appearing on variety shows, working hard to increase her fame and grow her fanbase.

She encountered a data-driven era where acting was judged by data, fan count, internet popularity, and so on.

She was just an unknown newcomer, without any data or background, relying on traditional auditions, and nine out of ten times, it was just a formality; for the remaining one time, she would be squeezed out by someone with connections.

Therefore, when Zhou Lan extended an olive branch to her that day, even though Zhou Lan made it very clear it was an exchange of interests, that she was to become their weapon against Xu Siyao, she seized the opportunity tightly.

Fate changed that day.

Zhou Lan and Zhou Yun, despite stating the harsh truth upfront, truly provided her with many resources.

From uninterrupted film contracts to film opportunities, from appearing on all the prime-time shows to endorsements and brand collaboration olive branches.

Wang Jing, of course, understood the reason behind all this.

Because she knew, she realized how Zhou Lan and Zhou Yun were genuinely good to her, even if this goodness was not selfless.

Wang Jing never dared to hope for selfless kindness.

Therefore, Wang Jing always worked hard on her own endeavors.

Whenever Xu Siyao desired any resources, she would step in, even if in the end she couldn’t successfully grab them, she would intervene and leave Xu Siyao frustrated.

Wang Jing competed with Xu Siyao for a while, but later, Xu Siyao’s fortunes fluctuated, and Zhou Yun could no longer be entangled with her.

Zhou Lan and Zhou Yun no longer needed her presence.

Even at that time, Zhou Lan and Zhou Yun did not abandon her because of this.

On the contrary, they genuinely cared for her well-being.

Which path to take, which drama to take or not take, which endorsement to accept or not accept, and so on.

They never hesitated to give her good opportunities.

Going to Cannes and going to Los Angeles, USA, they never missed a chance to bring her along, increasing her exposure.

Wang Jing does not deny she is an ambitious person, but being ambitious doesn’t mean being cold-blooded or ungrateful.

When Wang Jing received the Best Newcomer Award today, standing on the podium, tears fell, crying with joy.

”I really didn’t expect to receive this award!” Wang Jing raised the back of her hand, wiped her tears away, and smiled, ”I’m sorry, I’m too excited.”

She saw Zhou Yun sitting in the audience, hands clasped together, watching her intently and proudly.

Wang Jing looked at the bigwigs, celebrities, and veterans in the audience; at this moment, their eyes were all focused on her.

She recalled her first day on the set of ”Behind the Scenes,” how nervous she was and couldn’t perform well, but they were all very tolerant because of Zhou Yun’s influence, waiting for her to get into character.

”I will always remember receiving that call, asking me if I wanted to be in a movie with a role well-suited for me, but they didn’t know how the film would turn out; if I’d accept.” Wang Jing smiled, spotting Zhou Lan in the audience, ”Because Sister Xiao Yun was there, I went, and then I met Director Xue Qin, met Sister Luo Qi, and got to know Mr. You Jiang and Ms. Zeng Lili. My excitement at meeting so many great idols and the opportunity to work with so many great people, especially Sister Xiao Yun, was indescribable.”

The audience shared gentle laughs.

”I know I am a very lucky person, meeting the most precious mentors in my life, which is why I am able to stand on this podium and receive this honor,” Wang Jing said, ”Sister Lan, thank you, if it weren’t for you, it might take me ten or even twenty years to hope of stepping into this awards ceremony’s venue, and Sister Xiao Yun, you deserve every prestigious award in my heart; you are the idol I aspire to become.”

She lifted the trophy in her hand, ”I will continue to work hard.”

The audience erupted with thunderous applause.

Zhou Yun watched the young woman on stage with satisfaction, feeling proud from the bottom of her heart.
