Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 855: Chapter 544: A Dispute (3)

Zhou Lan went over the interview outline with Zhou Yun and reminded her, ”Even though they have drafted an outline, you have to be prepared. In case they suddenly ask questions not covered by the outline, you must have a strategy to handle it, especially with sensitive topics. The media here in the United States loves to create traps, this is a live broadcast, so be careful not to slip up and say something wrong.”

This opportunity is a double-edged sword.

Zhou Yun understood and nodded.

”If I really don’t know how to answer, I’ll just pretend there’s a bad signal here,” Zhou Yun said.

Zhou Lan nodded, ”That’s a good idea.”

What Zhou Yun didn’t expect was that an hour before the video connection, Bruce suddenly arrived and brought a styling team with him.

Bruce said, ”Both shows you’ll be connecting with have millions of viewers. This is a great opportunity for people to recognize you, and we want you to look beautiful on camera.”

Upon hearing this, Zhou Lan immediately stood up and told Bruce, ”No, Xiao Yun doesn’t need makeup.”

Her English wasn’t that good, not as fast as Zhou Yun’s, but her tone was very firm.

Bruce looked puzzled and asked why.

Zhou Lan then explained to him, ”Xiao Yun should appear on the show as her true self, or else people will think it’s just a performance.”

Bruce, however, was equally insistent, saying, ”This is America, we know what kind of image American audiences prefer.”

Zhou Lan argued rationally, and the two sides couldn’t quite reach an agreement.

Of course, Zhou Yun trusted Zhou Lan’s judgment.

She believed that some things are the same no matter what country you’re in.

If a victim appears on a TV show looking beautiful and well-made up, it won’t feel much like a ”victim” to the audience.

Zhou Yun said to Bruce, ”Mr. Bruce, thank you for your kindness, but we have our own judgment, and we hope you can respect our decision.”

Bruce was taken aback.

Zhou Yun said, ”We’re just here to help promote ’Behind the Scenes’ for Paimon, but tonight’s video connection isn’t within the movie’s promotional work, right?”

This was actually accusing Bruce of overstepping.

Tonight’s matter, Bruce shouldn’t have intervened.

Bruce was somewhat annoyed and said, ”Miss Zhou, if you appear on the show like this, you’ll miss a chance to become famous!”

Zhou Yun was a bit irritated, not backing down, ”If what you’re suggesting is that I use last night’s attack to make myself famous, I can tell you my answer is definitely not!”

Bruce questioned, ”Don’t you want to be known by more people?”

Zhou Yun: ”I’m an actress, the movies will make me known by more people!”

Bruce: ”You’re too naive!”

”This has nothing to do with you,” Zhou Yun said coldly, ”This is my room, if you have nothing else, please leave first.”

Bruce left in anger.

As soon as he left, Zheng Xiaojue cheered, ”Sister Xiao Yun, you were so cool! Cool!”

Zhou Yun said, ”I really don’t like his condescending attitude, as if everything he does is right.”

”He’s determined to use this situation to hype up the movie ’Behind the Scenes.’” Zhou Lan said bluntly, ”Not caring about your image at all.”

”After all, he’s just in charge of distributing ’Behind the Scenes’, not responsible for my work.” Zhou Yun shrugged.

Zheng Xiaojue: ”The key thing is, Sister Xiao Yun, your English is amazing too, you could argue without stumbling over a single word, I’m so impressed! I wanted to talk back, but I couldn’t keep up with your speed, I could only understand but couldn’t speak out.”

Zhou Yun laughed and said, ”That’s because you haven’t practiced your speaking enough, you should practice speaking more.”

Zheng Xiaojue nodded, saying seriously, ”I will practice diligently, and when I argue in English in the future, I’ll be able to talk back fluently.”

Zhou Lan laughed.

She said, ”Xiao Yun, you prepare first, I’ll call Sister Luo Qi, so that Bruce doesn’t talk bad about us behind our backs because of this, saying we’re not cooperating.”

”Yeah.” Zhou Yun nodded.

When the news broadcast started, the staff responsible for connecting with her from the TV station tested the video connection with her, confirmed there was no issue with the picture and sound, and all that was left was to wait for the cue from the host to enter the live program.

Zhou Lan and Zheng Xiaojue sat behind the camera, their phones muted, preparing to watch live comments on Twitter, waiting for Zhou Yun to enter the interview.

After about ten minutes, the director contacted them, saying the next segment would connect with her.

Zhou Yun had already established a video connection with the program, and as the host introduced Zhou Yun, then asked the director to connect with her, the video switched to the studio screen.

Zhou Yun could see the host’s face too.

”Hi, Zhou Yun!” the host greeted her with a smile.
