Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 885: Chapter 559: The Path That Must Be Taken (Part 3)

”Mainly because I’ve already taken on a lot of roles later, and my schedule is completely packed,” Zhou Yun said. ”But, Sister Tu Lu, why did you say five years younger to go for it? You’re so young, it shouldn’t be a problem for you, right?”

Tu Lu laughed and sighed, saying, ”I still know my limits and don’t plan to compete with you young girls for the girl roles.”

”Sister Tu Lu, I actually think you should go and meet the people from Paimon. With such a big production, there surely isn’t just one main female role. It’s a great opportunity, and if your schedule fits, it would be good to participate,” Zhou Yun advised.

Tu Lu’s current situation is a bit middling. With the title of Movie Queen and decent acting skills, but after winning the award, she hasn’t had any standout works for many years. People haven’t said her acting has worsened or bombed, but her fame is indeed declining, and audiences don’t pay much attention to her. When she’s mentioned, people only know she’s a Movie Queen but won’t really turn to watch a work because of her.

Many young people don’t even recognize her now.

If Tu Lu could be part of ”Chinese Warrior” film, it would be a good opportunity for her to gain exposure.

Zhou Yun didn’t know what Tu Lu would ultimately choose to do; she only offered a suggestion.

The intermission ended quickly.

The host reminded everyone to return to their seats.

Song Chi also came back.

Zhou Yun quietly asked Song Chi, ”What did Chen Wenjun want to talk to you about?”

Song Chi said, ”He has a script written by Teacher Zhi Wei and wants me to star in it.”

”Teacher Zhi Wei? Isn’t that the scriptwriter for ’Laissez-faire’ that you’re filming now?” Zhou Yun, of course, had heard Song Chi talk about how much he appreciated and liked this teacher’s scripts.

There’s a real shortage of good scriptwriters in the film industry now.

Song Chi nodded, saying, ”That’s why I’m a bit tempted.”

”Is it another suspense genre?” Zhou Yun asked.

Song Chi nodded again.

At this moment, the background music played, and award presenter Shen Yao walked onto the stage.

Although Shen Yao didn’t get a nomination for Best Actor with ”Warm Little Horse,” the Lingjun Award invited him based on his fame and audience appeal.

Zhou Yun applauded for him while continuing to chat with Song Chi about Teacher Zhi Wei’s new script.

”I’m guessing you want to act in it.”

”I haven’t seen the script yet. I told Chen Wenjun that I want to decide after reading it, but I know, unless something unexpected happens, I will act in it.”

”Hmm.” Zhou Yun nodded, ”I was just thinking about something.”

”What is it?” Song Chi asked.

At this moment, Shen Yao began speaking.

Zhou Yun whispered, ”I was thinking about the movie Mélando is asking me for; if you’re interested, I’d like to discuss with Mélando to have you play the male lead.”

”There’s no need to do that,” Song Chi said softly, ”For that Mélando movie, they won’t cast another Asian as the male lead.”

Zhou Yun: ”I want to try and secure it.”

”There’s no need for futile efforts,” Song Chi said. ”Hollywood won’t allow such a big production to have two Asians as the male and female leads.”

Song Chi’s attitude seemed firm.

Zhou Yun glanced at him.

At this time, on stage, Shen Yao said: ”The winner of this year’s Lingjun Award for Best Supporting Actress is—”

The entire audience held their breath, waiting for the result.

Zhou Yun looked at the stage intently.

Shen Yao opened the envelope and took out the paper with the result written on it.

”Teacher Qin Zhong! ’Dusk’!” Shen Yao said, and the audience burst into thunderous applause.

Zhou Yun applauded earnestly and was the first to stand up, facing Teacher Qin Zhong, to congratulate her.

Qin Zhong is a veteran, and highly values relationships between seniors and juniors in the acting circle.

Everyone warmly applauded, congratulating Qin Zhong on winning the award.

Qin Zhong, somewhat surprised, thanked the people around her and walked towards the stage.

As she passed by Zhou Yun, she smiled at her.

Zhou Yun stepped forward and gave her a hug.

”Congratulations!” Zhou Yun said.

Qin Zhong smiled at her.

”This time I got it, next time it’s definitely yours,” she said.

Zhou Yun smiled and nodded.

Qin Zhong went up on stage, received the award, stood before the microphone, and everyone gradually sat down.

Qin Zhong happily glanced at the trophy in her hand, saying: ”I thought I’d never be associated with the Lingjun Award in this lifetime, but who knew, at my age, I’d finally hold it once.”

The entire audience responded with good-natured laughter.
