Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 878: Chapter 556: Mélando’s New Film_3

This is incredibly helpful for Zhou Yun in gaining international recognition.

However, she understands very well what kind of character Zhou Yun is. She knows that once Zhou Yun makes a decision, it’s difficult to change her mind.

In fact, if it weren’t for the fact that this opportunity was too good, Zhou Lan wouldn’t want Zhou Yun to collaborate with a company like Paimon.

Besides, how many promotional events did Zhou Yun help them with for the release of ”Behind the Scenes” in the United States?

This could be considered a friendly collaboration, right?

But because her boyfriend refused to act in the movie, they took it out on her?

Zhou Lan wasn’t blaming Song Chi. She was just talking about a way of doing things.

This isn’t how things should be done.

However, the news about Paimon dropping Zhou Yun somehow got leaked.

The gossip wasn’t widely spread online, but it attracted a lot of attention within the circle.

How did Zhou Yun offend Paimon?

The reasons behind it haven’t been revealed yet, but everyone knows—Paimon didn’t plan to invite Zhou Yun to star in this movie.

This incident was like a meteor falling, causing an uproar in the entertainment industry.

Before this, the buzz about Zhou Yun starring in this movie seemed set in stone.

Su Yan mocked publicly, ”Originally, when you said Zhou Yun was being celebrated in the United States, I didn’t really believe it. Don’t you know the nature of that place? How much discrimination against Chinese people? How could it be that Zhou Yun went there and was warmly welcomed? It sounds strange, yet you believed it. I say, it was completely hyped up by Zhou Yun’s team. Don’t you know how easy it is to hype these things nowadays? You think only China’s internet has water armies? How naive.”

Su Yan said this at a dinner table with some people in the circle.

Once these words got out, many people were waiting to see Zhou Yun’s reaction.

As for Su Yan’s words, people didn’t take them too seriously. After all, Su Yan wasn’t on good terms with Zhou Yun, so who knows what her intentions were when she said these things?

But Zhou Yun didn’t react at all.

She neither participated much in these gatherings nor made many appearances at events. She remained very low-key, just waiting for the day of the Lingjun Awards ceremony.

Seeing that Zhou Yun didn’t respond, Su Yan thought she was right and became even more relentless, telling everyone about it, exaggerating that Zhou Yun’s previous grand lie had been exposed.

Except for Su Yan, no one else spoke like that.

Even Wei Ru Xue and Xu Siyao didn’t.

After learning that Zhou Yun had no chance with the movie ”Chinese Warrior,” they immediately thought they might have a chance to win the Best Actress award.

No actress is unaware of the significance of starring in a Hollywood blockbuster for their career.

They tried every possible way to get in touch with people at Paimon, whether by audition or through other connections, striving to get this movie.

It was during this time that Zhou Yun received a very special phone call.

The person on the other end claimed to be a producer from Mélando, wanting to meet her.

Mélando, like Paimon and Dickey, is also one of the famous film companies in Hollywood, USA.

Unlike the high-profile Paimon and Dickey, Mélando is a long-established company. It was founded a long time ago, once flourished, but now it’s struggling, not having produced any big box-office hits in recent years. Its dominance in films isn’t as strong as it used to be. Of course, a giant is a giant, and despite this, Mélando still produces and distributes a great many films each year.

Zhou Yun was somewhat surprised to receive this call.

She hesitated for a moment, but out of politeness, she went with Zhou Lan.

When they met, Zhou Yun was astonished, her eyes widening in surprise as she looked at the man.

This person turned out to be Luna’s father.

”Mr. Brillanch?” Zhou Yun asked in surprise.

The man who claimed to be Mr. Brillanch on the phone slowly smiled and extended his right hand, ”Hello, Miss Zhou, we meet again.”

From this sentence, it was clear that Brillanch had long known that the woman he encountered at the airport was her.

Zhou Yun was stunned.

Zhou Lan was equally astounded.

Zhou Yun inquired in confusion, ”Mr. Brillanch, did you ask me here today to discuss work or is this about Luna?”
